    Lady Zoe Keane has good reason to believe she is not really Lord

    Lady Zoe Keane has good reason to believe she is not really Lord Olivier´s daughter and if this turns out to be truth, then she has to marry her cousin Jeremy in order to preserve her title and estate. She doesn´t want that kind of marriage unless it is strictly necessary and so, she hires The Duke´s Men(who ended up owing her a favor in the previous book) to find the truth about her origins.  Tristan Bonnaud is assigned to her case given that he speaks romani and is familiar with their customs. He is the bastard son of the Viscount Rathmoor, and because of being mistreated his whole life for it, he now resents nobility which makes it difficult for him and Zoe to get along in the beginning.  However, as he get to know her, he revises her opinion on her and without them wanting it, sparks fly between them. 




    Thoughts:  I absolutely loved “How the scoundrel seduces”. It  was a great addition to the Duke´s Men series and so much fun.  Tristan is an interesting character. He hides all his insecurities behind a mask of sarcasm and aggressiveness, but he still is very funny and you get the feeling that he really is a good guy. I couldn´t help but loved him given all he has  been through.
    Zoe is also very likeable. She is very spirited and not afraid to speak her mind. But she´s also very compassionate and I just adored her in a scene where she shows Tristan he´s more than he thinks he is. I also liked her loving relationship with her father,and how in the end, Lord Olivier also becomes sort of a father figure to Tristan.
    “How the scoundrel seduces “ is currently my favourite in this series. Now I can´t wait for Dom and Jane´s story!

    HOW THE SCOUNDREL SEDUCES by Sabrina Jeffries is the third book in her The Duke's Men series set in the Regency era. The Duke’s Men is an investigative agency on Bow Street. Each of the books can be fully enjoyed as a standalone even though there are interconnected characters.

    Each have been fabulous reads. As you can see, HOW THE SCOUNDREL SEDUCES is the story of Tristan Bonnaud and Lady Zoe Keane. Their tale was my favorite of the series thus far. It kept my attention riveted from the beginning to the end.

    Of the 3 in this series, this is my favorite.  Zoe and Tristan are sure that they cannot be together because of their stations in life.  When
    Tristan helps Zoe solve a mystery regarding her birth, she feels that maybe Tristan deserves better.  And of course Tristan feels Zoe
    deserves better than to be married to someone like him.

    In the end quite a few things are resolved for both of them.  They learn so much about family.

    The newest title in the Duke¿s Men series does not fail to deliv

    The newest title in the Duke’s Men series does not fail to deliver. While the hero is initially as likable as other heroes in the series but he does grow on you. The couple starts off with animosity, which is always a risky way to establish a relationship. The transition to love does work so the story overall is successful. This is an enjoyable title, which is what you want from a romance.

    This wasn't a bad book as such. I enjoyed getting to see Zoe again after her memorable appearance in a prior Duke's Men book. She had a great backstory and it was interesting to see the truth of who she was gradually work its way out.




    Tristan - I didn't enjoy him quite as much as I have other members of the Duke's Men. He just was a bit of a ... not a nice word. He was a bit too focused on the George thing and nearly let Zoe get away because of his own issues, and I felt it was beyond the normal character growth thing. 




    I'm not sure I believed the romance as it ultimately developed between Zoe and Tristan. It certainly wasn't rushed, but I also don't think they really connected (at least for me) on a good level. I enjoyed the wrap-up of the evil half=brother issue. Quite satisfied with the resolution there.




    In short, not my favorite Jeffries book, but it was good to read.

    Funny, riveting, and you don't want to put it down. I devour Sabrina Jeffries' books in as few sittings as possible. I've always loved the name Tristan and that he's a scoundrel makes it all the more interesting. Add gypsies and I'm hooked. This is a vacation or holiday read for certain. Enjoy!

    Lady Zoe Keane has it all. Heir to her father’s vast estates, she will one day be a countess. So why is he suddenly so keen to marry her off to her American cousin, a man she’s never met? A romantic at heart, Zoe wants a love match. Her family explains the circumstances of her birth and she hires the Duke’s Men to find her true origins. She’s shocked, of course, but only wants the best to help her locate her birth mother, apparently a Romany named Drina. The agency assigns known ne'er-do-well Tristan Bonnaud to the case. He’s apparently more interested in furthering his own cause by locating Drina’s brother to solve a years’-old case to clear his name than the plight of the young woman. Tristan does have scruples despite his reputation and hopes the overlapping cases will have a positive result. Danger and surprises hamper their journey while their close proximity ignites passion between the couple.

    This is an amazing entry in the Duke’s Men series. It does not disappoint as the emotions of the principals pull you into the story. The secondary characters are as varied as night and day and add flavor to the tale. This can be read as a standalone, but friends from the first two books are here enticing you to read their stories. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a love story wrapped in a great adventure. You’ll be entertained.

    Once again, Sabrina Jeffries delivers with this wonderful Duke's Men story.  Zoe and Tristan are believable, likable and have great chemistry.  Fans of the series will enjoy the reappearance of many favorite characters.  What a fun book!

    Sabrina Jeffries knows how to write a great historical romance. I've read quite a few of her books, but somehow I've skipped this series. I really thought that I had read the first couple in this series, but it seems as if I have them buried somewhere in my TBR pile and started with the wrong book. It wasn't too bad by starting with this one. It has a lot of information from the previous books, but it was easy to follow along. I'm definitely going back to read the first two cause I'm hooked on this family. Loved Tristan. Loved Zoe. Loved everything about this book.

    Lady Zoe Keane is the daughter of an Earl. There are secrets and she needs to know the truth. Her father won't answer her questions. So she goes to Manton's Investigations to hire them to get answers. Tristan Bonnaud is sent to help because of his knowledge and skills, but he is disdainful of the Lady. He is determined not to like her but sparks fly when Lady Zoe and Tristan are near each other. Can they work together? This book is a wonderful combination of romance and mystery. This story is a roller coaster ride of love, passion and treachery. All of the characters are well written and compelling. Lady Zoe and Tristan are engaged in a love hate relationship that kept me reading. How the Scoundrel Seduces is a wonderful story. Sabrina Jeffries keeps getting better. I can't wait for her next book.

    A fantastic addition to a wonderful series, How the Scoundrel Seduces was a lovely historical romance. From the secrets of the past to the sweet romance, this book was a delight of a read.

    Zoe was a good heroine. She was strong-willed and tougher than most would give her credit for. My only issue with her was that she was very impulsive and that sometimes led to her saying or doing stupid things. Other than that, though, I liked her character.

    Tristan was wonderful. He liked to portray the mask of a scoundrel, but there was much more to him than that. He was clever, very loyal to this loved ones, and he could be so sweet when he let his walls down. He was adorable and I really liked him.

    The romance was sweet. Zoe and Tristan were great together. They both had questionable pasts, but they both still accepted each other as they were. And there was definitely some sensuous heat between these two. I thought they were a lovely couple.

     I had two other issues with this book. 1) I didn't like how Zoe's cousin, Mr. Keane, was treated by the other characters. I really liked him. He was a fun character, but also genuinely kind and smarter than he was given credit for. But he was either treated as a pawn or made out to be the bad guy, just because Zoe felt like she had to marry him. Even though, right from the beginning, Mr. Keane made it clear that he just wanted to be friends with his cousin and made no indication of wanting to gain her inheritance. I don't know, I just felt like he was treated unfairly. And 2) though I liked this book and everything, I didn't connect with the characters and the story as much as I have with other books by this author. It wasn't that I had a particular problem that I could pinpoint. I just couldn't get into the story as much as I normally do when I read a Sabrina Jeffries book. Neither of these issues was a deal-breaker, however, and I still liked the book.

    The plot moved quickly and I was kept interested the entire way through. I really liked how much the Romany were featured in the book and we got a look into their lives. The secrets that were revealed, particularly about Zoe, took me by surprise. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely.

    How the Scoundrel Seduces was a wonderful historical romance. With secrets, thrills, and romance, this book was a delightful read and I really liked it. Romance lovers, this is a book you'll want to check out.

    I love The Duke's Men series!
    Sabrina Jeffries has done it again with her third book HOW THE SCOUNDREL SEDUCES in her series The Duke's men. I read her previous books and love this series. This one is a wonderful historical fiction filled with romance, secrets and suspense. I loved her two main characters, which were charming and lovable, Lady Zoe Keane and Tristan Bonnaud, an investigator. Zoe, found some disturbing news about her birth, so she hires Tristan to find out the truth. Beautiful chemistry between the two! What will happen next? Will their family secrets be discovered? Does Zoe have gypsy blood running through her veins? Another beautiful and well written romance offered to Sabrina Jeffries's readers! They won't be disappointed! I definitely recommend HOW THE SCOUNDREL SEDUCES to fans of historical romance!

    The title should be How The Lady Seduces the Scoundrel because Lady Zoe truly TAKES her Scoundrel any & every way she can!

    Tristan Bonnaud is the illegitimate son of his Viscount dad & French mom & he was raised on the estate will his sister & his half brothers, George the heir & Dom. George has always hated his Father's illegitimate kids & Dom. When their dying father wrote a deathbed amendment to his will to provide for his illegitimate family, George burned it after their father breathed his last breath. Tristan stole the horse his father willed him & sold it to his Romany friend Milosh, but was accused of horse theft & he, his mom & sister fleed to France. In France, Tristan worked for the secret police & after their mom's death, he & his sister moved back to London & joined Dom's Manton Investigations business.

    Lady Zoe Keane learns that her parents bought her from a beaten Romany woman named Drinia from her Aunt Flo, but her father, loving called The Major, won't answer any of her questions about it. The Major's title (Earl of Olivier), estates & money will lucky be passed down to her, but if she isn't his birth daughter then everything will go to her American Cousin Jeremy Keane. If she isn't his daughter, she must marry her cousin to protect all that she & her father have built. Zoe will hire The Duke's Men (aka Manton Investigations) & they will have to take her case because they owe her for helping them with a case in Scotland & she means to collect.

This romance read has many twists, turns, big speed bumps, sharp cliffs & unexpected challenges along the way, but sometimes all the answers are back at the beginning.     When I started reading romances, Sabrina Jeffries was my go-to author at my local library & I cut my baby romance teeth on her amazing books. She writes with such humor & all her characters pop off the pages (Kindle) & landed in my heart. This read has her humor galore & snappy & witty dialogue. She blends her characters from the Duke's Men books into this story & I just love the quirk Duchess, Lisette. Zoe was an unusual 1829 woman, raised as a future heir & given an education at her father's side, but her inner naughty girl woke up & went after her scoundrel. Tristan worked hard for everything he had & accomplished, but didn't think he was worth much in other's eyes, but Zoe & The Major truly saw him for himself, warts & all. I read a lot for my own personal sanity & I am rarely unable to figure out plots, but Ms. Jeffries got me good with this INTRIGUE AWESOMENESS! She not only told Zoe & Tristan's story, but set up poor overworked Dom with his old flame for the next The Duke's Men series, which I can't wait to get my greedy hands on. Ms. Jeffries didn't miss the utterly decadent passionate scenes in this tale. Me, my kindle, my Ms. Mister Fan & A/C got 1 HADES of a work out, so I got to munch on chocolate & not worry about extra hips & that is always a plus! Ms. Jefferies earns my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes & PRETTY PLEASE write Dom's story faster for me!

    A absolutely wonderful installment in the Duke's Men series of books by Sabrina Jeffries. I must say
    Tristan has been my favorite out of the group so far. He has always been the one to take it upon himself
    to take care of everyone else while isolating himself off. If he didn't open himself up for love he would
    never be hurt, but for one who loves the people in his life so dearly it was just a matter of the right
    woman to help him find his way.

    At the age of 17 he gave up everything and became a wanted man to take care of his family. Now years
    later he is still driven by revenge against his older half brother George. He cannot seem to get past all
    his sibling has cost him. And now Lady Zoe Keane has provided him a way to try to get the dirt he has
    been looking for on George by finding his old gypsy friend while in search of answers for her.

    Zoe is seeking the truth about her true parentage, so she cashes in on a promise of a favor from the
    Duke's Men. However, does she really have to deal with Tristan Bonnaud as the lead investigator?
    The man has drove he nuts since she first met him and yet she cannot stop thinking about him and
    fantasizing his kisses.

    As both characters struggle with the circumstances of their births and families, they find that in each
    other they have a kindred spirit. The question is can they get past the secrets of their pasts in order to
    find the life long love they both deserve.

    Great read with glimpses of characters from previous books and a great set up for more stories to
    come. A must read for any Sabrina Jeffries fan.

    This is book 3 in the Duke's Men series.

    Lady Zoe Keane has heard some disturbing news about her family and knows just who to go to, to find out the truth. Having gotten use of their services by keeping quiet during another case, the Duke's Men have agreed to take on her case. Unfortunately for Zoe, the only and best man for her case is the man that she doesn't get along with.

    Tristan Bonnaud has had a disdain for the gentry since his father refused to marry his mother and his high-born brother took his inheritance. The only one available for the case works in his favor as he can use the case as a cover to investigate something of his own.

    Having clashed since the moment they met, what will Zoe and Tristan do when they can't fight the attraction that has been there since the moment they met?

    Sabrina Jeffries knocks another one out of the ballpark. 

    Tristan has been a favorite of mine since the series started. He got such a raw deal when his father died and had to make his own way in the world. Having been through all that, he has developed a strong character.

    One of my favorite things in a romance is that love-hate relationship where you get all kinds of banter between the H/H. This is definitely one of those types of books. I loved seeing Zoe and Tristan together. Tristan needed a strong woman to break down the barriers he had built up around himself and Zoe had the strength to do so. 

    Definitely another one for the keeper shelf!

    I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

    I could not put this book down. I read it in two days! I absolutely adored Lady Zoe Keane and Tristan Bonnaud.

    Lady Zoe is the only child of Lord and the late Lady Olivier. She is set to inherit a title and the family estate from her wealthy father one day but after an off comment by Lady Zoe's aunt, Lady Zoe starts to wonder if she really is the blood daughter of her parents. Then all of a sudden her aunt and father are trying to get her to marry her American cousin, Jeremy Keane, whom she has never met. Lady Zoe wants to marry for love, not someone her family picks for her.

    Lady Zoe decides she is going to take up the Duke's Men on their offer of a favor by having them secretly investigate if her parents are really her natural parents.

    Enter Tristan Bonnaud....the only Duke's Man that knows how to push all of Lady Zoe's buttons. Of course he would be the only one there when she sneaks off to see them. After some good banter back and forth, Tristan agrees to take on her case. I love how Zoe isn't afraid to stick up for herself with Tristan. I love how Tristan is a scoundrel, but deep down you can tell that he is a good guy.

    Together the two of them investigate to find out the truth about who her real parents are. There are some great steamy parts, funny parts and emotional parts between these two as their story develops. I loved all of the secondary characters. Zoe's cousin was a hoot! All of the time spent with the gypsies was very interesting. Never really knew much about gypsies before.

    I loved the shocking twist at the end! It had me guessing all the while I was reading. And of course I loved their happy ending. Another winner for Sabrina Jeffries!

    I loved this book! The characters are amazing. Our hero, Tristan Bonnaud, is sarcastically witty, sexy, and loyal. Our heroine, Lady Zoe Keane, is a beautifully determined young lady who is trying to discover the secrets surrounding her birth, and has hired Tristan to help her. The secrets they both uncover send them on an adventure through the English countryside. Together they discover many things, and about each other. They will have many decisions to make concerning their own futures. These adventures, full of love and danger kept me reading, and reading. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be reading the first two in the The Duke's Men series very soon. I hope that in the future we might see a book with Jeremy Keane, Zoe's American Cousin, in it. Jeremy is a scoundrel and I think he has a good story of his own to tell. Thank you Sabrina Jeffries, for the wonderful, adventurous tale of love between Lady Zoe and Tristan. I definitely recommend this book to readers.

    4.5 Stars...Sabrina Jeffries NEVER disappoints me, and “How the Scoundrel Seduces” is no exception.
    I read a lot of books in a year, some are entertaining, and some not so much. That’s why I am always so excited when Sabrina Jefferies has a new book out. She is one of my favorite authors, and on my automatically buy list. Her books are well written and a cut above the usual romances that come out. She NEVER disappoints me, and “How the Scoundrel Seduces” is no exception.
    Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. The majority of the facts presented in the previous books are explained in this book. I do think though, that when you read a series from the beginning you get a much better feel for the characters. FYI: Tristan Bonnaud was introduced in “What the Duke Desires” (book #1 of the Duke’s Men series), and Lady Zoe Keane is introduced in When the Rogue Returns (book #2).
    This story has a fresh scenario. (I will say no more to prevent spoilers). It is fast paced, and I was constantly rushing through my day so I could get back to it. I really enjoyed the development of the characters, and the banter between them. Best of all I could not easily predict ending!
