Investment banker Matthew Fisher enjoy strings-free hookups. When he meets absurdly hot chemist Dee Warren, it’s lust at first sight. Things are going well until she shocks him by ending their sexual relationship. She is unlike any woman he’s ever met, and he can’t understand what’s made her shy away. Minor ups and downs created by predictable reasons, such as Dee’s fear of commitment, push the story to its inevitable conclusion.   • During the last few weeks, it’s been brought to my attention that sometimes women actually like to cry. They cry over books, TV shows, those awful abused-animal commercials, and movies—especially movies. Sitting down to purposely watch something you know will make you unhappy? It makes no frigging sense.

But that’s okay; I’m just going to chalk it up to another thing I will never understand about my girlfriend. Yes—I said girlfriend. Dee Warren is officially my girlfriend.

One more time for those in the back—girlfriend—Delores—mine.

Repeating it might make me sound like a Harry Styles–obsessed prepubescent girl, but I don’t give a damn. Because it was a hard-won victory—if you knew what I had to go through to make her mine, you’d understand.

Anyway, back to what I was saying. Chicks like to cry—but this isn’t one of those stories. There’s no dying best friends, no dark tortured pasts, no hidden secrets, no sparkly vampire breakups, and no kinky fuckery.

Well . . . okay . . . there’s some kinky fuckery—but it’s the happy kind.

This is a story about a player, who meets a slightly crazy girl. They fall in love and the player changes his ways forever. It’s a story you’ve probably heard before, maybe even from my buddy, Drew Evans. But the thing is, while he and Kate were figuring their shit out? There was this whole alternate universe going on with Delores and me that you don’t know about. So stick around, even if you think you already know the ending. Because the greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.

Before we start, there’s some background info you may need to know. First off—Drew’s a great guy, a true best friend. If we were the Rat Pack, he’d be Frank Sinatra, I’d be Dean Martin. Although Drew and I are tight, we differ in our opinions about women. At this point in our tale, he sees himself as a bachelor for life. He’s got all these rules about never bringing a chick to his apartment, never dating someone he works with, and the Cardinal Rule: Never hook up with the same woman twice.

I, on the other hand, don’t care where I get laid—my place, her place, the observation deck of the Empire State Building.

That was a great night.

I’m also not opposed to seeing someone from the office—though most of the girls in my line of work are stressed out, chain smoking, coffee-obsessed women with an unpleasant chip on their shoulders. I have no problem hanging out with the same woman on multiple occasions, as long as the good times keep rolling. And someday, I imagine myself settling down—marriage, kids, the whole deal.

But while I’m looking for Mrs. Right? I’m having a blast with all the Ms. Wrongs.

Secondly, I’m a real glass-half-full kind of person. Nothing gets me down. I have a great life—a good career that lets me enjoy the best man-toys on the market, awesome friends, a weird but loving family. “Emo” doesn’t exist in my vocabulary, but YOLO should’ve been my middle name.

Next up is Delores Warren—Dee, if you want to stay on her good side. By today’s standards it’s an unusual name, but for her it’s a perfect fit. She’s unusual—different—in all the best kinds of ways. She’s brutally honest, emphasis on “brutal.” She’s strong and doesn’t give a rat’s ass what people think of her. She’s true to herself and makes no apologies for what she wants or who she is. She’s wild and beautiful—like an undomesticated thoroughbred that runs best without a saddle.

And that was where I almost went wrong. I wanted to tame her. I thought I had the patience for it, but I pushed too hard and pulled too much on the reins. So she broke them.

Are you offended that I compared the woman I love to a horse? Get the fuck over it—this is not a tale the PC police will enjoy.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Just know that Kate Brooks is our coworker and Delores’s best friend—the Shirley to Dee’s Laverne. And in all the years I’ve known Drew—which is every one of them—I’ve never seen him react to a woman like he reacted to Kate. Their attraction, even though it was mostly antagonistic in the beginning, was palpable. Anybody with eyes could see they had it bad for each other.

Well . . . anybody but them.

Kate, like Delores, is a great girl. The type of woman who, in the immortal words of Eddie Murphy in Coming to America, could arouse a man’s intellect as well as his loins.

You got all that? Great. Let’s get this party started.

My life changed about four weeks ago. On a normal, average day—when I met a girl who was anything but average.

Four weeks earlier

“Matthew Fisher, Jack O’Shay, Drew Evans, this is Dee-Dee Warren.”

There’s no such thing as love at first sight. It’s just not possible. Sorry to ruin your fantasy, but that’s how it is. Ignorance might feel like bliss, but when you peel away the happy layer, it’s still just a lack of information.

To really love another person, you have to know them—their quirks, their dreams, what pisses them off and makes them smile, their strengths, weaknesses, and flaws. Have you heard that quote from the Bible—the one they always read at weddings: “Love is patient, love is kind . . .”? I have my own version: Love is missing the taste of someone’s morning breath. Thinking they’re beautiful, even when their nose is Rudolph-red and their hair is bird’s nest crazy. Love isn’t putting up with someone in spite of their faults—it’s adoring them because of them.

Now lust at first sight, that’s very real. And much more common. In fact, when most guys meet a woman, they know within the first five minutes which category of “fuck, kill, marry” they fall into. For guys, the fuck category has a pretty low bar.

I’d like to tell you the first thing I noticed about Delores was something romantic, like her eyes, or her smile, or the sound of her voice—but it wasn’t. It was her tits. I’ve always been a boob man, and Dee’s set was fantastic. Slightly overflowing in a tight, hot-pink top, pressed together just right to create an enticing cleft of cleavage, beautifully framed by a gray knit sweater.

Before she uttered her first word to me, I was in lust with Delores Warren’s rack.

After she banters with Drew for a minute, I steer her attention my way. “So, Dee-Dee . . . is that short for something? Donna, Deborah?”

Warm, honey-colored eyes turn my way. But before she can answer, Kate lets the cat out of the bag, “Delores. It’s a family name—her grandmother’s. She hates it.”

Delores glares playfully at Kate.

If you want to make an impression on a girl, humor is always a safe bet. It shows a woman you’re clever, smart, confident. If you’ve got balls? Flaunt them.

Which is why I tell Kate’s friend, “Delores is a gorgeous name, for a gorgeous girl. Plus, it rhymes with clitoris . . . and I really know my way around them. Big fan.”

As planned, my line gets an instant reaction. She smiles slowly and runs one finger across her lower lip, suggestively. Any time a woman touches her body in response to something a guy’s said? It’s a good sign.

Then, she breaks our gaze and says to us all, “Anyhoo. I have to jet, gotta get to work. Nice meeting you, boys.” Dee-Dee hugs Kate and winks at me. Also a good sign.

I watch her as she walks out and can’t help but notice the rear view is almost as awesome as the front.

Drew asks Kate, “She’s got to get to work? I thought the strip clubs didn’t open until four.”

I have to agree with him on that one. When you’ve been to as many strip clubs as we have, you start to see a pattern. The clothes the women wear—though minimal—are similar. Like they all shop at the same store. And Dee is definitely rocking the Strippers “R” Us vibe.

Though it may just be wishful thinking on my part. It would be awesome if she were a dancer. Not only are they limber—they party hard. Totally uninhibited. The fact that they generally have a low opinion of the male species is a plus too. Because it means the simplest act of chivalry is returned with extreme gratitude. And a grateful stripper is a blow-job giving stripper.

But Kate dashes my hopes. “Dee’s not a stripper. She just dresses like that to throw people off. So they’re shocked when they find out what she really does.”

“What does she do?” I ask.

“She’s a rocket scientist.”

Jack reads my mind. “You’re fucking with us.”

“Afraid not. Delores is a chemist. One of her clients is NASA. Her lab works on improving the efficiency of the fuel they use on the space shuttles.” She shivers. “Dee-Dee Warren with access to highly explosive substances . . . it’s something I try to not think about.”

And now my curiosity is almost as strong as my lust. I’ve always had a taste for the unusual—the exotic—in women, music, books. And unlike Drew, whose apartment is meticulously decorated, I tend to gravitate toward pieces with a history. Even if they don’t match, nontraditional is always interesting.

“Brooks, you’ve got to hook me up. I’m a nice guy. Let me take your friend out. She won’t regret it.”

Kate thinks about it. Then she says, “Okay. Sure. You seem like Dee’s type.” She hands me a neon-green business card. “But I have to warn you. She’s the love-’em-and-leave-’em-with-bruises type of girl. If you’re looking for a good time for a night or two, then definitely call her. If you’re looking for anything deeper than that, I’d stay away.”

And now I know how Charlie felt when he was handed the last golden ticket to Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.

I stand up from the table and kiss Kate on the cheek. “You . . . are my new best friend.”

I consider hugging her too—just to fuck with my scowling buddy—but I don’t want to risk getting nut-punched. I have plans for my nuts. They need to be in top form.

Kate tells Drew not to pout, and he makes a comment about her boobs, but I’m only half listening. Because I’m too busy thinking about where I’ll be meeting Delores Warren for a drink—or several. And all the fantastically lascivious activities that are sure to follow.

So that’s how it started. It wasn’t supposed to be complicated—no love at first sight, no grand gestures, no hard feelings. A sure thing, a good time, a one-night stand with an option for a second. That’s what Kate told me Dee was into, and that’s all I was looking for. All I thought it would ever be.

Elvis Presley was right. Fools really do rush in. And if you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a major fucking fool.

    You must know that  this series is one of the best series out there even though I had some problems with the second installment of this series, Twisted, but that's because I just couldn't get over what happened with Drew and Kate, but that's because I was already invested in the characters so I was somewhat dissapointed...


    But like I already said, Emma Chase goes and does it again, and makes me fall in love all over again, and even more if that is possible with Matthew, who is the best friend of Drew. He is also an investment banker and goes through women like Drew; he’s a one-night stand kind of guy, doesn't like to get involved in a relationship with women, but he likes the chase.  I'll admit that I'm not a fan of this kind of jerks, but Matthew is very different from those kinds of characters and when we meet Dee Dee, introduced by Kate, Drew’s girlfriend to their group of friends... well, we know that Matthew's days as a womanizer are long past gone, because our boy instantly becomes smitten with the weird and intelligent woman.




    For those of us who got to know the characters of Matthew and Dee Dee in the previous two books, Tamed reveals a new side of Tangled, but though the eyes and voices of Dee Dee and Matthew, who becomes our heroes, instead of Kate and Drew, and while I loved them both with all my heart, they were intense and a little angsty, but within Tamed, not only we relax a little, but we also see why Dee Dee and Matthew acted that way and the icing of the cake is the fact that we see their past (well, at least we get a glimpse of it) and because the two main characters are so close to Kate and Drew, we’re also given a glimpse into their pasts as well, and we really get an idea of the depth of the relationships between the different groups in this intermingled relationship. 




    Tamed is written in Matthew’s point of view so it, and presents more or less events from Tangled (for those of you who didn't like it, this is your chance to read see another side of that story from a couple a little less angsty), but I'm not going to lie, Matthew IS  a bit of a misogynistic pig, much like his best friend, but  we begin to see him change over the course of Tamed, and realize that there is a lot more to life than disposable relationships.




    Let's talk a little about Dee Dee, shall we?

    Well, Dee Dee is a lot like Matthew, and I'm very serious when I say that, so if any of you wants to find another Anastasia Steele's replica, then this is not your place. She also is a one-night stand kind of girl, rarely having another night the same man twice, but I understod her, after finding more about her past. She has a style all her own, and you would bet on your own life that she is a escort or something like that, instead of a chemist well paid within NASA. She is best friends with Kate and is Billy’s (Kate’s ex-boyfriend), cousin.




    "Delores is a gorgeous name, for a gorgeous girl. Plus, it rhymes with clitoris…and I really know my way around them. Big fan.”












    Because both of them loves to have sex, but without the complications of a relationship, Matthew and Dee Dee decides to go out on a date and obviously, because of their attraction, they hook up. That's the moment when Matthew notices that Dee Dee is very different than other women, she is a direct, easy to talk to, and incredibly smart, and almost without their consent, they realize they might be deep in this time with their feelings born between them, but Dee Dee is still not ready to let anyone get close and with Matthew's record she is convinced that a possible future relationship is doomed from the start. But once those two decide to try out a relationship, she runs every time they hit a bump in the road.That frustrates me, because from some reason I can't understand why she would run so many times when it was obvious that Matthew adores her?
    But when you think about her past, you are more indulgent. Besides, after all the hearts broken by Matthew in his past, doesn't he deserves a little payback?




    “She wants excitement, spontaneity, but a part of her-the part that’s been dicked around by one too many pricks in the past-craves reliability. Honesty. Truth. I want to give her both. I want to be her roller coaster and her merry-go-round, her adventurer and her protector.”




    “Stick around, even if you think you already know the ending. Because the greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.”




    Final Decision-Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: girl meets player, they fall in love, player changes his ways. It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful. Like it says in the synopsis, it's not your regular romance story, but it's not full of angs and drama, on the contrary, you'll see a beautiful, complicated but full of humor love story about two characters who learn together about growing up and to be better people, to not be afraid to get involved in a beautiful relationship, even being affected by the ghost of their past. Do I have to say that I can't wait to be published the next installment of the series, Tied, which will be released in the fall?

    Another amazing book once again! I fell in love with the type of

    Another amazing book once again! I fell in love with the type of relationship emma chase created with them. The love that they feel for each was super romantic and I was able to feel butterflies at some of the scenes she wrote when they were together! I must say dee was challenging with Matthew because of her past and I totally can understand her feelings towards that! Over all this book was spectacular! Can't wait to read more books from emma chase!

    If you have read Tangled, you know that Matthew and Dee are the

    If you have read Tangled, you know that Matthew and Dee are the best friends of Drew and Kate respectively. You are aware that Drew thinks Dee is crazy. If you haven't, well, I just told you. Tamed is Matthew and Dee's story, told from Matt's point of view, approximately during the time period of Tangled. It can be read as a stand alone, but I feel that it was so much more enjoyable having read the previous books in the series. As it says in the book, it's not about where they ended up, it's how they got there.
    I couldn't believe how witty and comical these characters are. Emma Chase has created a world full of titillating and passionate characters that makes me greedy for any crumb of these friends that she'll give us. I'll be the first to admit that I was worried I wasn't going to like their story as much as I did Drew and Kate. I couldn't be more wrong. If Drew made me hate and love him all at the same time, Matt made me swoon and laugh and fall in love with him the entire book. Matt and Dee were crazy, captivating, and provocative.
    I'd suggest putting down whatever it is you're doing, and picking up Tamed. You'll be just as raptured and infatuated in the story as I was.

    Recommend.

    Funny as always. This series is great on a raining day. Tired of tragic stories with unbelieveably unlucky heroines? Tired of books that bring you down and make you cry for hours? Tired of the same old same old? Buy TANGLED, TWISTED, TAMED, and coming soon, TIED by Emma Cross. Their great fun. I recommend these books.

    Matthew and Dee are absolutely a blast! I've liked them througho

    Matthew and Dee are absolutely a blast! I've liked them throughout this whole series and I loved finally getting to see how they got together. Matthew is simply adorable and so much fun! I loved how he pursued Dee even though she tried pushing him away. The best part about the book for me though, was the dialogue between Dee and Matthew. It's one of the things I love the most about Chase's books and she certainly delivered with this couple! Despite the fact that Matthew and Dee are a little goofy, the sexy times were smoking hot! I was definitely a happy reader! Matthew surprised me in the best way. 




    I don't really have much more to say about this one, but I really enjoyed it! I think it was an excellent addition to the series. Plus, it gives me an outside perspective on Drew and Kate's early stages of their relationship! Now, I'm ready for TIED!!!

    5 stars = I freaking LOVED this book

    In Tamed, Ms. Chase gives us Matthew and Dee’s story – from Matthew’s perspective. Can I just say that being inside Matthew’s head was almost as much fun as being inside of Drew’s? Tamed occurs concurrently to Tangled and while it gives you a little bit of a peek into what happened when Kate and Billy broke up, the focus of the book is on Matthew and Dee and what Matthew had to do in order to get his girl – and I’ll just say that Dee kept him on his toes the whole time. 

    Matthew is funny, he’s sarcastic, his sense of humor mirrors my own, and when he cares, he cares deeply. He set out to show Dee how much he cared and how much she could trust him – unfortunately for him, Dee’s history is not conducive to trusting men and this makes his job that much harder. But Dee is not the only one with ghosts from past relationships – his just happen to make an ill-timed appearance that nearly ends everything before it really had a chance to start. Fortunately for Dee, Matthew subscribes to the belief that something worth having is worth fighting for and he refuses to go down without a fight. 

    Tamed is a great addition to the Tangled series and is chock full of laughs. I have never before found food poisoning funny but the author managed to make it hilarious. Ms. Chase’s talent as an author is impressive. I’ve spent time all day in the heads of three different characters of her creation and never once felt like I was in the same character’s head. There was never any confusion as to which character’s perspective I was experiencing. While I typically don’t enjoy books or movies in which the character addresses the audience, she somehow manages to pull it off. Sadly, my time with the Tangled crew must come to an end … well temporarily, as I must wait for the release of Tied, when I can once again spend time in Drew’s head (YAY!!!).

    Emma Chase tells us of the tale of Matthew and Dee in this book.  Dee seems very hard-nosed when depicted in Kate and Drew's books so I was surprised at how she really was.  Dee has been burned badly by men in the past and has learned to expect nothing so she doesn't get hurt.  Matthew finds himself trying to convince Dee to give them a chance and has to fight at every turn to get her to trust him.  There are parallels to Drew and Kate's beginning in this book so it was interesting to see it from Matthew and Dee's POV.  Nicely done and an easy, delightful read.  If you liked the other books in this series, you will definitely like this one.

    I LOVED Tangled. I was not a fan of Twisted. Emma Chase has redeemed herself, in my eyes, with Tamed.
    Tamed is the story of Matthew, Drew’s best bud, and Dee Dee…cousin to Kate’s ex-fiancé and one of Kate’s best friends. Matt is a total player, much like Drew but he meets Dee and they just kind of end up sliding into a relationship together. They both have their misgivings, but Matt is so ready to jump in head first he pays little attention to the “No Diving” warnings that Dee is giving off. Can Matt convince Dee to give a true shot to the promise of what could be between them, or will Dee’s past and smorgasbord of poor man choices keep them apart?
    I think that the absolute best part of this book for me was the voice of Matthew. He is adorable, funny, insightful and kind of a pig…but a loveable pig. What he does with women is a bit questionable, but I say at least he’s honest. Anyway, his voice is original and it’s what I loved best about Tangled too. A quirky, brutally honest male narrative that keeps you reading.
    My one complaint about this book is that I really didn’t feel like much happened. Or maybe I just felt that way because I already knew what was going to happen so there wasn’t a lot of mystery to it. There was some relationship drama, yes…and while Matt kept the book funny and interesting, plot wise it just fell a bit flat for me. I didn’t really learn anything new about these characters or their relationship, I felt. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but there just seemed to be a little something missing from this that would make this into a book that I loved instead of just really liked.
    Overall, I think if you liked Tangled and its characters, you can’t go wrong with Tamed. Dee’s antics alone make this worth reading…she’s an original. 4 stars.

    The characters in these books are perfect. They are the best mix

    The characters in these books are perfect. They are the best mix of spirit, strength and fieriness along with gentle, lady like simpleness. The men are strong and sexy but not over the top and are goofy and simple also.




       The story lines are basic and simple yet fun and intriguing. I love the snippy conversations, the sarcastic humour and the realness of the characters and their interactions. Makenzie is frikkin awesome and I would love to sit with her one day for a tea party LOL




       The dinner conversation at Mathew's parents house was brilliant - I would loved to have been a fly on the wall - omg I was laughing out loud and embarrassed for him!
       The dancing scene at the nightclub was simple yet hot as heck. I love the way the author brought this out without too much effort.
       Lexi's party and the run in with Rosaline was awesome, funny and had me chuckling out loud! Lexi is amazing, strong and one hell of a feisty b**** - I love her and would LOVE to see her with her own story *hint hint Emma :)




       A lot of humor and chuckles without going over the top.




      I am so happy we got to meet Mathew and Delores this way - they are hilarious and I actually enjoyed Mathew more than Drew (yeah I know, don't shoot me lol but I did). Don't get me wrong...Drew is incredible but there was just "something" about Mathew.
    Delores - well she is an act all on her own and in a world of her own lol She and Lexi are 2 peas in a pod!




    I am so glad I got the chance to read this book and I look forward to the next one in this series (along with Lexi's story - hint hint to Emma again) :)

    Tamed is the third novel in the Tangled series by author Emma Chase. A romantic comedy about Matthew Fisher and Delores ‘Dee’ Warren that had me laughing and swooning at the same time while reading the entire novel. 

    “This is a story about a player, who meets a slightly crazy girl. They fall in love and the player changes his ways forever. It’s a story you’ve probably heard before, maybe even from my buddy, Drew Evans. But the thing is, while he and Kate were figuring their sh*t out? There was this whole alternate universe going on with Delores and me that you don’t know about.”

    Matthew plays the field never looking for love, since his heart was broken once until he meets Delores. 

    “Have you ever had a moment when you think to yourself, this is going to change everything? From this point on, there will be a before, an after, and this event will forever divide the two?     Dee is also fighting demons from her past, so she does not do relationships to protect her heart. Unfortunately for Dee, Matthew is not giving up on something he is determine to have and he is determine he wants Dee for more than a night. Matthew wants her to trust him and embark on a journey together to discover maybe there is just more chemistry between them.

    “The greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.”

    Emma Chase’s novel is funny and a swoon worthy love story that will have you feel as if you are on an emotional roller coaster pulling at your heart strings of COMPASSION, SADNESS, ANGER, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS, FRIENDSHIP, TRUSTWORTHINESS, LOVE and HOT SEX SCENES. This is a MUST READ if you need a little laughter and romance!

    Story: This series has quickly become my guilty pleasure because it's one of the most authentic male POVs I've come across. Even though I liked them as side characters, I wasn't sure how invested in Matthew and Delores' story I would be, but I ended up THOROUGHLY enjoying this! Matthew and Delores are both raw, honest and hilariously inappropriate characters who made me laugh, choked me up and caused me to blush a few times too (HARD). We also get a glimpse of Drew and Kate's budding relationship and more insight into Alexandra and Stephen too. (I hope we get to read their story eventually!)

    Audio: Deacon Lee does a fantastic job capturing Matthew's endearing arrogance and Delores' quirky personality and bringing them to life!

    If you have read the previous books in this series you may be familiar with Matthew, Drew’s best friend and Dee, Kate’s best friend. In Tamed see Matthew’s POV as he does his best to romance the free-spirited and commitment shy Dee, with both hilarious and touching results.

    When I first read Tangled, the first one in this series, I loved the idea of having a romance from the male POV, it was so different not to mention hilarious to see some of the thoughts that were running through the heroes head. In Tamed this pattern is repeated again, only with a slightly different set of characters. I already knew I liked this formula so I wasn’t surprised that I also really enjoyed Tamed.

    Matthew seemed like a watered down version of Drew, the first character in the series, he had his moments of intensity, which were hot, but he was more laid back. But, I did love reading a romance from the male POV, I also liked that he wasn’t afraid of commitment and it was Dee that backed off having anything more than a fling. Dee and Matthew together though did have great chemistry, you could feel their mutual attraction and when it exploded Emma Chase wrote some fantastic sex scenes.

    This was a good read, it was funny, whilst being sexy with a really nice romance, if you are after something short to spice up your summer reading, than I recommend giving Tamed a try.

    Review: Tangled #3: Tamed

    Tamed by Emma Chase is the third full length novel in her Tangled series. Just as funny as the previous books, Tamed details the story of Matthew and Dee Dee. Matthew being Drew's best friend and Dee Dee being Kate's best friend.

    Matthew's inner monologue is at once hilarious and touching. It's a side to him I didn't expect and was happy to see. The story runs concurrent with the time frame of Drew and Kate stories from the previous books and details the meeting, chasing, and falling of Matthew and Dee.

    Dee is a tough girl with a prickly exterior out of necessity to protect herself from being hurt and Matthew is bound and determined to get past her walls and into her heart. He does all he can to prove to her over and over that he is NOT like the other men in her life that treated her bad (and that he wants to annihilate for ever daring to hurt her). Tamed is hilarious and touching and will have you laughing out loud with the antics of these characters.

    Emma Chase burst onto the scene with Tangled in mid 2013. Just shortly thereafter the book was picked up by a traditional publisher and since then we've gotten two more amazing books including this one and a novella, with more to come soon. I absolutely love her writing! She has this knack of writing amazing character driven books. I am partial to her male point of view books, although each has been true to the narrator's personality.




    Tamed is Matthew and Dee's story. (Don't call her Delores, she doesn't like it.) It's told from Matthew's point of view and takes place in the same time frame as Tangled, which means we get to see Drew and Kate too (Yay!). I LOVED being in Matthew's head. He's honest and hilarious. Plus it doesn't hurt he's ripped, can dance, cook, and knows his way around a clitoris. He's also a genuinely good man whore. I also learned Dee isn't crazy like Drew thinks she is. Dee is brilliant and confident except when it comes to men. Oh and she's loyal to those she loves. Honestly, I'd love to get into Dee's head. I want to hear more about her from herself. I think she'd be hilarious and a hoot! I mean she's a chemist who is mistaken for a stripper.




    I read Tamed in an hour and a half. It's just that good. For anyone who absolutely loved Tangled, you will love Tamed too. You won't want to miss out on the Mackenzie parts. She had me in stitches. Once again Emma Chase has hit a home run with this book. I can't wait for her next one. Is it October yet?

    4.5 I am SO glad to have the Emma Chase from Tangled back stars!! 

    I am going to put this out there (don't throw things at me)... I was not looking forward to reading this book and put it off as long as I could (last night) before I had to review it. Why? Because of Twisted. I was NOT a fan of the way Twisted went and what it did to one of my favorite books of 2013, Tangled. Plus, since I had already read (and reviewed) Holy Friggin' Matrimony (which is conveniently added to the end of Tamed) I thought it was odd to go backwards and read about Matthew and Dee so I put it off as long as I could and guess what I found out? I am stupid. I LOVED Tamed!! I devoured the book in one sitting, was laughing out loud and misting up at the same time. The Emma Chase I fell in love with in Tangled is BACK!! 

    Tamed was everything I was too scared to hope for and gave me what I missed in Twisted. Emma Chase's male POV writing is outstanding and I was relieved to see how much I loved her writing as Matthew! Reading this book put a smile on my face and actually got me excited to see how this series will play out with the final book, Tied (coming in October 2014). 

    Matthew was everything I love in a male lead; hot, funny, witty, confident but not too much of douchebag and sexy as hell. I fell in love with Matthew from the very beginning and watching him fall in love with Dee was a fun and very entertaining ride. After reading this series I had put Dee in box marked "witchy" (but add the "b"), but boy did she turn out to be much more than I thought! I actually liked her vulnerability, her sass and her heart. She turns out to be much more than the "w"itchy best friend of Kate. While I did enjoy seeing Drew and Kate from the view points of their best friends, I just really enjoyed getting to know Matthew. (I am still mad at Drew and Kate from Twisted).

    Emma Chase does a fantastic job getting the reader into the head of Matthew and telling a story that was poignant, funny, sexy and just plain awesome. I loved having the stories I have come to associate with Emma Chase back and I would gladly read anything she writes, short story or full length novel (hell, I'd read just funny quotes on a napkin). I am back to be truly excited to see how this series plays out and anxious to get my hands on Tied! If you are a fan of the Tangled series, then Tamed is a MUST READ! Don't be an idiot and think this book doesn't have to be read to finish the series on Drew and Kate like I did, Tamed brings such a wonderful new perspective (and story) to the series that will leave you smiling for hours and dying to get your hands on the next book when we get to see Drew and Matthew (my new book boyfriend) again! 1-click and ENJOY!

    Another hilarious home run of novel!
    I just finished it before my work commute home. Without revealing any spoilers, all I can say is Vegas baby.
    I want that ending exactly as Emma Chase described it in the book. Too fun!
    Everything leading up to that ending was flawless - the humor, the sex, the drama and the fantastic resolution.

    If you haven't read this series from the beginning, do so now.
    Reading order: Tangled-1 (Drew's POV), Twisted-2 (Kate's POV & Drew's POV-epilogue).

    I can't wait for the next one, Tied-4 which returns to Drew's POV and takes places roughly 2 years after the ending of Twisted-3.

    Emma Chase continues to write books that astound me. Her characters are hilarious and riveting. With Tamed, she returned back to her roots and wrote it in the male POV. Being inside Matthew's head was a lot like being in Drew's but I didn't want to throttle him as much :) Matthew is what I call good people. He fights and gives until he can't anymore. He's sexy as hell and funny to boot. Pair him along with a ballsy, yet romantically gun-shy woman and you've got an enthralling, lusty, and magnetic book.

    Overview- Matthew is Drew's, from Tangled, best friend. The story of Tamed happens mostly parallel to Tangled's story line. We get a whole new view of what was happening across town. Which was Matthew falling head over heels and scaring the beejesus out of Dee. Yes, the same Dee who is Kate's best friend. So playboy turned devoted boyfriend, and genius, casual dater turned running for the hills. Matthew was attracted to Dee on the spot. Naturally he went after her. Being two attractive people, naturally she reciprocated, but called it quits after one night. Until Mr. Relentless came out to play. Matthew had a taste of heaven, he wasn't about to give it up. When Dee and Matthew decide to give their relationship a try, it's not an easy road. For as much of a calm and collected demeanor Dee shows on the outside, when someone gets too close she balks. And she continues to turn tail until Matthew's had enough. He'll either force her to reign her fears in, or give up the chance at a happily ever after. 

    This book was fantastic. It was a quick read for me. I completely devoured it. Emma Chase does the male POV unlike any other author I know. She's crass, honest, and intelligent all rolled into one nice Matthew package. I'm going to be honest, I liked Tamed a little bit more than Tangled. Only because Matthew wasn't nearly as douchey as Drew. Of course, Drew won me over eventually, but Matthew had me from the get-go and never lost my affection. Who he was when we met him and who he continued to be as part of a duo with Dee made this story for me. Dee gave me a couple of headaches, but she came through when it was pertinent. All in all this was a fantastic read and once I will definitely be adding to my physical copy bookshelf. And I will ABSOLUTELY be adding the next installment to this witty series to my TBR list!
