Overview

Marie doesn't need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother's house one afternoon doesn't agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she's not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse-she doesn't know his real name or where he lives, she's ninety percent certain he's a criminal and that the "business" he talks with her brother isn't website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he'd just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she's not interested in becoming "property of".

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants-at home, in public, on his bike... If she's a very, very good girl, she'll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he'll let her brother live.

Maybe.

Holy hot motorcycle club men batman!
Yeah, this book spanked me in the crotch a few hundred times and made no apologies for it. Reaper’s Property made me scream, cry, laugh, horny, and any other number of things that a book could do you when you stay up reading it until four o’clock in the morning. I am a total virgin where the motorcycle gang is concerned. I never watched Sons of Anarchy (but I’m going to now!), and I was little taken aback and this lawless society that existed in the world around me.
What do you do when a really supermodel hot biker with his own set of rules sets his sights on you?
    Well, you go, duh!
Then you have the hottest sex of your life, while navigating your way through a society of people that live by their own set of rules. Including how they grade women in their life. Let me tell you, I got made quite a few times at Horse. I had to truly believe that he was completely unaware how to behaving like an actual human being at times. That he just was so involved with the ‘club’ culture that he was the alpha dog and screw the rest around him. Yet, he cared about Marie. In a way it was more intense than love in the real world. She was important and protected by not just him, by basically this whole Motorcycle Club.
It was not just a hot, sexy, steamy story. It was a story that educated me on something I had no clue existed until I started to hit google after reading it. Thus learning I was vastly neglecting SOA. I didn’t get a full night sleep because of this book. But that is ok, because along with one hell of a steamy romance, I got one hell of a good storyline. I think I liked Picnic the best. He just did something to me and I LOVE an overprotective father for some reason. As pervy he is, he ain’t gonna let the other pervs corrupt his daughter. In short, I highly recommend Reaper’s Property! I will be buying more books by Joanna! Her voice is clean, pure, and she can write her butt off.

    White-trash comes full circle...

I read a few reviews about this book and decided to give it a try. I won't say it's not worth the time. It's actually pretty well written and it does have an interesting story. The book is in the first person, but that's part of my problem. I don't really like books in the first person. This is especially true if I don't like the head of the character I'm in. Marie, the heroine, alternates between being an idiot and fulfilling every white trash stereotype in the dictionary. It's hard to understand why she does what she does. On another note, the author clearly has a love-on for SoA. I'm not a really a fan of the show, but it's clear she did most of her research after watching all the seasons back to back...lol.

Overall, if you're looking for something to pass the time this is the book for you. Don't expect anything special....

Well this book was different than any other adult book I have re

Well this book was different than any other adult book I have read, and that’s because this is probably one of the baddest bad-boys around. I have never read an adult novel about a biker gang, but I am happy to say that I like it. There were some moments that made me mad, basically about Horse’s character. He definitely seemed like someone who could have a different personality (hot and cold), but considering he is not only in a biker gang but a war veteran that seems pretty plausible. This book was very hot and very passionate, and Horse is not a man you want to mess with. I was attracted to Horse just like Marie, no doubt about it, but there were some moments that Marie and I did not see eye to eye. Granted if I was in the same situation I would have probably made the same choice, but there were a lot of moments when I sat there thinking “Marie…what the heck are you thinking?”. But that aside I found this novel to be well written, the story line was pretty new and exciting to me, and Horse was definitely the kind of man you fantasize about.

    Good:

Horse—I still question whether or not he is a good guy. I guess he is, but his morals can be easily swayed sometimes.

    Bad:

Marie—She was not my favourite of female characters. Sometimes she was strong other times she was really not-so smart in my opinion.

Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):

Overall the flow of the novel was pretty well done. At first I was a little confused because there is some flash back moments until about half-way through the novel when you get up-to-date and then its pretty easy to read from there. I never really had to re-read anything except in the first few chapters the biker terminology was a little difficult to follow, but it came together pretty soon. I did find Marie a little not to my liking, as well as her brother. I didn’t really understand him and how his character developed. Other than some need for character development I found this novel to be a really good romantic and passionate read.

    I Also Recommend:

I read this book after Reaper's Legacy, never realised it was #1

I read this book after Reaper's Legacy, never realised it was #1 in the series, and to be honest, I don't think interchanging the order affected the read of either, so they can be stand-alones.

Firstly, Joanna Wylde is a new-to-me author, recommended by a friend. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will be adding any others in this series to my wishlist.

The story is a romance but certainly not a "conventional" romance, so if you're looking for light and fluffy, this series is not it. I don't know anything about motorcycle clubs, so I can't make any comment about the knowledge imparted in this series but even if this was all drawn from the author's imagination (which I know it's probably not) the world building is engrossing and draws you right in.

Fair warning - the motorcycle club world isn't pretty in some parts (the author doesn't hold back on the violence, etc., it's written into the story and it makes for a gritty, confronting read at times, but this is part of the "ride". If you don't like reading about that sort of thing, then this series is not for you.).

And there are some clearly defined roles men and women play in the world. I have to say, like Marie (and Sophie, in Bk#2) I didn't get, or like, the the terms "property of", or degrading names women who mixed with the clubs were labelled with.

The whole idea of motorcycle clubs being a part of the "real" world yet living to their own rules and regarding themselves as outside "the law", handling their own problems in their own way, definitely made me uncomfortable, BUT - and this is where every reader has to make their own call on this - I understand these elements much better after reading the books, and I totally think it worked in the context of the world being portrayed (real life or fictional).

These elements pushed my buttons, made me squirm, made me question if I really wanted to read this sort of story, yet the connection I felt with the characters, their emotional journey's, grabbed me enough to keep going.

With that understanding and acceptance, I could look past my own personal dislikes/judgements/opinions, and allow myself to read Marie & Horse's story, be immersed in Wylde's world-building, and enjoy it for what it was.

One of the highlights is how the MC world is revealed through Marie's eyes. I might not have come from Marie's background or shared similar life experiences but I walked this journey with her, was introduced into the world through her eyes, and this perspective helped me understand Horse and the Reapers. Working my way in form the outside, seeing and reacting pretty much like Marie to certain things engaged me, connected me to her, and to the story.

Horse is a complex character, and I loved him. He's a returned soldier, ex-military. The author made him so darn "human", unapologetic for his lifestyle choices, bold, confronting, a hottie, but what really hit me was the scene at the end of the book when he deals with the death of a brother/soldier who's deployed O/S. That made me cry.

Why only 4 stars - as I said, I read this after Reaper's Legacy, and the only negative I have is that the female characters of Marie and Sophie sounded similar. Both were characters who came from the outside in to the Reapers, their impressions and experiences were sort of the same, and it was reflected in their "voice" (the first person narrative). This is probably just me, my own very personal reaction, and everyone else will see/read it/feel differently. Overall though, this was such a small issue, but enough for me to give it 4 stars rather than 5 (can I just take a half star off and make it 4.5 instead?).

Put simple, there's so many layers and facets to this story, and despite the elements that made me uncomfortable, I really, really enjoyed this book.

I can't speak highly enough of it. There is so much packed into the story, so much that I like, I'll be going to back to read it over and over, because the more I reflect the more I marvel at how well the author has constructed everything - the characters, the realism, the issues confronting the characters, the secondary characters, the MC world, everything - it's a keeper.

Marie has left her abusive husband Gary and moved in with her

Marie has left her abusive husband Gary and moved in with her brother Jeff. When she moves in she meets Horse and some of his MC brothers. She knows that what her brother does for Horse and his MC isn't a hundred percent legal and wants nothing to do with Horse, but when Jeff screws over the Reaper's she has to make a choice. Her brother or go with Horse and they give Jeff another chance.

I read this in one sitting and was so tempted to read again right after finishing it. The drama and emotions Joanna Wylde puts into her words are amazing. Many reviews compare Wylde's Reaper MC to Kristin Ashley's Chaos series....and I tend to agree but that wouldn't be fair to Joanna. She has created a world all her own. If you follow my reviews you know how much I adore Kristin Ashley and her work. I know love Joanna Wylde and the Reaper's and cannot wait for the next one....Reaper's Legacy. Wylde's word flow so smoothly and grabs you from page one. I also like the flashbacks in the beginning that tell the story and also Joanna uses multiple POVs. Joanna keeps you so wrapped up in Horse and Marie's drama that you don't see the ending coming and when it does BAM your mind is blown and you want more. Let me tell you I want more! More Reaper's...More Horse...More Joanna Wylde!

    I don't understand the comparison. ..

...between this book and Motorcycle Man bt Kristen Ashley. The only thing they have in common is motorcycles. This book lacked that give and take needed between an alpha male and his woman. He was a jerk and not enough sweet to make up for it. Three stars for writing style and storyline and great grammar.

Hot hot hot. Loved the entire storyline and Horse is truly a hunk of burning love. Loved the interactions between him and Marie. At first it was difficult to always like their interaction because she was so naive and he could be hard to deal with. It broke my heart for her when he came after her for the 'deal" and treated her so cruelly. He wanted her to be his and did not completely read all of her text messages. Marie handled things pretty well for a difficult situation. Of course, Horse's motivations were "pure" to him because he wanted her to want him...just him. I really hope that Joanna will consider a sequel or a series with this group. I loved the entire Reaper's group. I'm thinking the daughter deserves her story :)

    It's a Must Read Book!

Mannnn what can I say. I love this book and the books that came after this one! I just read that title and I was interested. I read the short excerpt and I was hooked! I like reading about MCs and this story was good even when it's a fiction book. I love the humor in it :) I just read this book a few weeks ago and I was lucky to find this book when I was searching books to buy online in Barnes & Noble. So glad I came around it.

This book was the first e-book I have bought and it wasn't a disappointment though I normally buy the actual books. I'm still buying the books to have them in my collection. I saw this book online over the summer, in June to be specific, and it wasn't until 4-5 weeks ago that I bought this book. There is no single page that a reader would get bored on when reading this book. It's that good. This was a really fun read along with the other books that came after. Can't wait for the new one to come out!!!

Sexy, tattooed bikers are hot, their passion is hotter and I lov

Sexy, tattooed bikers are hot, their passion is hotter and I love their alpha male possessiveness when it comes to their women, or specifically, their “property.” I really enjoyed the story and learning about the hierarchy of the MC (motorcycle club). It was also refreshing to learn that this MC was started by Marines and gets most of their membership from them as well.

Women tended to be a focal point in the group, whether they were just used for sex, worked for the Reapers’ strip club, or were few of the lucky women who were claimed by a Reaper. I’m not a fan of cheater books and while this book came close, I was happy it didn’t. There is, however, a lot of disturbing scenes involving sex and violence that some readers may be uncomfortable with.

The sex scenes were explosive, raw and titillating. The journey to happiness wasn’t an easy one for Horse and Marie. There were a few times I didn’t think they’d last, but their determination to make things work and their love for each other carried them through the bad times. That makes this hard-won happily ever after even more beautiful.

Joanna Wylde has me enthralled and I’m looking forward to reading the next book!

    MY THOUGHTS~
I chose to purchase and read this book because Bikers/MCs are my favorites!
I loved this first book in the Reaper's MC series! While many biker/MC books don't always hold true to the realistic way of life and grit of the MC world, this book does completely. Joanna Wylde has an amazing way of making you really feel the characters and their emotions.
I was hooked from cover to cover on this book! Even though there was a HEA at the end, it still left me wanting more. Lots more!
Reaper's Property was very well written and i will most definitely be reading more of Joanna Wylde's work. This book has landed on my favorites list and I fully expect the rest of the series to follow!
