This is a cute continuation of her previous series with another Oxenburg prince finding love in Scotland. It is a quick lighthearted read. If you have enjoyed her other books you will like this one. This and the last series have not seemed as in-depth as her previous ones but they are still good and I will read the next one.

This is book one in the Oxenburg Princes series.
Bronwyn Murdock, a bookish spinster, is surprised by a small dog coming out of the nearby forest interrupting her quiet time reading by her favorite tree. A woodsman soon follows and and Bronwyn is intrigued like never before, especially when he kisses her before leaving.
Bronyn soon learns that her woodsman is really Prince Aleksey Romanovin from Oxenburg. When she overhears him talking to a friend about using her to get his grandmother to stop wife hunting for him, Bronyn decides to turn the tables on him. She will make him fall for her and then let him know that she knew of his plan.
But what happens when the feelings become all too real for both of them?
As always, Karen Hawkins has done a masterful job of storytelling. In her latest book, a twist on the Cinderella story, she introduced us to a whole new set of characters that you will fall in love with.
Even though Aleksey was a prince, I thought he was pretty down to earth. Grand Duchess Natasha, Aleksey's grandmother, loved her!! Being a bookworm myself, I totally related to Bronwyn. She had the best attitude! She finds out that that the prince is using her and she turns the tables on him, LOL!
I loved Aleksey and Bronwyn together and hope that we see more of them in the rest of the series.

A charming, humorous take on the classic fairy tale!
This book is about Bronwyn, an avid romance reader who lives with her inventor father, ambitious step-mother, and beautiful step-sisters. Escaping from her duties assisting her father and the household, she retreats to her favorite reading spot in the woods...to find a handsome huntsman with delicious kisses! A few days later, she discovers that he is not a huntsman but a prince visiting their neighbor!
Alexsey is intrigued by the bookish Bronwyn and sets out to have a delightful few-weeks tryst with her...and use her to spoil his grandmother's matchmaking plans. Brownyn overhears his nefarious plan and becomes determined to use his own game against him. What follows is hilarity, a meddling step-mother and grandmother, passion and wonderful surprising twists and turns!
As a lover of fairy tales, I have read many versions of the Cinderella story; but this is by far the most humorous and interesting! I was really able to identify with Bronwyn as she was so different from the usual romance heroine of the Regency era and so much more like a regular person.
Karen Hawkins has introduced yet another marvelous book into our world, and I cannot wait for the next one to see where she takes us next! I highly recommend this book!

I have to say this was a wonderful, fun filled read. I really enjoyed it.
The Prince in the story is Alexsey Romanovin, and he's a bit of a rogue and has no intention of settling down. Until his grandmother says it's time he did and sends him to Scotland and she expects him to find a wife.........but it's still not going to happen as far he's concerned.......Until he meets an unusual but pretty in a quite way (if you looked close) woman reading in the woods. Who turns his world upside down.
Bronwyn Murdoch loves books she's plain spoken and thinks she's on the shelf. And any way she has two younger and prettier stepsister to help marry and she helps her father with his patents, so she is happy how she is..... Until a huntsman comes into her life one day in the woods.......Well he's dressed like a huntsman and is plabergasted when she finds out the huntsman she has been dreaming about and had shared a kiss with is Prince Alexsey and is way above her station.
When the Prince finds Bronwyn again he's not going to let her escape, and the fun and passion begins.
The chemistry between the two main was characters great. Alexsey's grandmother and Bronwyn's stepmother would like Alexsey and one of her stepsister to marry. So the pressure is on Alexsey, but he holds his own, he knowns who he want's. Bronwyn is a little confused at times but she does the right thing in the end.
The secondary characters were excellent, they were interesting in them selves.
I had a great time read this novel and I look forward to the sequel very much.
If you love romance and fun I highly recommend this book.

This book is a refreshing spin in the classic Cinderella tale. I found the story a nice read that I couldn't put down until it was done. The interactions between the two main characters were well played and highly amusing. I was happy to find that in this telling, the stepmother and stepsisters were very warm and loving and nothing like the original. I can't wait to read the first book in this series and look forward to the rest!
Well, I'm not really great at Reviewing books (or anything for that matter)... But I'll give it a go because I love Karen Hawkins and I won this book via a Goodreads First Reads giveaway, so it seems only right and fair. :)
With that said, I enjoyed the heck out of this book. Yes it had some Cindrellaish undertones but they were mild and didn't make me roll my eyes even once (as some other books have done.) The humor was light and perfect, and I appreciated the lack of overly dramatic angst—which has its place, but wasn't what I was in the mood to read about right this moment. Of course Aleksey, being what he is, has a couple of boorish moments, but one can hardly blame him and Bronwyn handles him just fine.
As I've been waiting for this book since I read "How to Pursue a Princess"—I loved Wulf and wanted to read about his brothers. Seeing more Tata Natasha is also a bonus. ;)—I was not only ecstatic to win this book, but knew I'd likely love it to pieces, which I did. What more can I say? If you're a Karen Hawkins fan, you'll likely enjoy this book quite a bit... And if you're not a Karen Hawkins fan, well, what the heck are you waiting for?

This is the first book in the fabulous The Oxenburg Princes. Though one of the brothers has been in a different series; The Princess Diaries Trilogy by Karen Hawkins. I loved this book so much that after reading it I pre-ordered it and bought the Princess Diaries. After all I want to know how the younger Prince found his Princess. Completely fabulous this was funny and heartwarming. I loved it.

Life is good until his grandmother, Grand Duchess Natasha decides it’s time for him to settle down, and drags him to Scotland to find a bride. Aleksey is determined his grandmothers schemes will fail. When he meets brainy, bookish and bespectacled Bronwyn Murdock, a woman who he enjoys spending time with and who he knows his grandmother will never agree to being his princess, Aleksey decides she’s perfect to stop the Duchess’s meddling into his personal life for once and for all.
Living at the beck and call of her ambitious stepmother and social butterfly stepsisters, Bronwyn doesn’t have time for the handsome Prince, no matter how much she enjoys his kisses that awaken in her a desire for her own adventures. Karen Hawkins has done it again. As a child, I loved the Cinderella fairy tale. Karen Hawkins has taken this beloved fairy tale and gave it a funny, Scottish twist. Cinderella is played by Bronwyn, a book loving spinster who is more worried about helping her father with his work and helping her 2 step-sisters find their own true loves. Along comes Prince Alexsey, a bored prince who is trying to avoid his grandmother's matchmaking attempts. A lost shoe, a matchmaking grandmother and a step-mother, and a persistent prince creates a funny, newer version of Cinderella. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next book in the series.

This is the 2nd book in the series, and while it can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the 1st book "How to Pursue a Princess". For me Karen Hawkins is always a must read and she does not disappoint with her new release. Karen's writing style is always witty and I love that she can make me laugh out-loud with the interactions between the characters. I will admit, I'm a sucker for a series, there is something just so enjoyable with being able to revisit beloved characters from previous books and to almost get an update to their story (yes I know they're not real, but they're real in my head :-)) I also love books based in Scotland, it just seems to give the author a leeway for more relaxed behavior by the characters without constantly being worried about the rules of high society in a normal Regency Novel. If you have not treated yourself to a Karen Hawkins book in the past, I highly recommend you start with this series, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I will start out by saying that I received an advance copy. I really enjoyed this book.
The relationship between Bronwyn and Alexsey just seemed so right.
They are so comfortable with each other and that came through so beautifully in the writing.
I can't wait for the rest of the series!

The Prince Who Loved Me by Karen Hawkins is a beautifully written story. I loved how this book was a different twist on Cinderella. Such great humor in the book that you can't help but laugh out loud. Loved seeing Prince Alexsey and bookish Bronwyn fall in love. Karen Hawkins knows how to write and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

A fun and flirty take on Cinderella. Prince Alexsey is loving his carefree lifestyle and the last thing he wants to do is follow his Grandmother’s order to get married. Alexsey decides to pick someone he knows his grandmother would not like nor approve. Bronwyn is well on the shelf and not looking for love, but wants an adventure like she reads about in her books. The story is entertaining and the characters are funny and sweet. An all-around wonderful historical read.

I was excited to receive this book and be able to read it first! The characters are easy to like, though the prince will make you cringe with his lack of manners and the I am entitled attitude but you know that the main character will give him a run for his money. The grandmother will keep you laughing with her curses. Lots of quick turns and fun scenes make you want to keep reading! Great series.

Karen Hawkins has done it again! She's absolutely brilliant. The Prince Who Loved Me is a terrific Cinderella Story with a Scottish twist and Hawkins flair. She creates these in-depth characters that pull you in and make you want more. Fall in love with Bronwyn and Alexsey as they learn that love has no boundaries, not even if one of them is a Prince. Get swept away with the romance in The Prince Who Loved Me.
