The day of college graduation, Mia Holland speeds off with her two best friends for a last wild weekend in Vegas before real life (a placement at business school in Boston that brings Mia's controlling father far more happiness than it does her) sets in and ruins all the fun. Quiet and reserved, Mia doesn't usually consider herself the type for one-night stands, until she meets Ansel Guillaume, the gorgeous French boy who quicker than anyone she's ever known, gets her talking (among other things). Mia wakes up next to Ansel, sporting scores of love bites and a gold band on her ring finger. When Mia joins Ansel for the summer in Paris, they find that it's much harder to incorporate real feelings into playing pretend. This roller-coaster ride of a novel has humorous, punchy female characters who share a strong bond that doesn't seem to fall on tired tropes. The rich, sensuous sex scenes start off feeling too few and far between, but the anticipation makes the fulfillment sweeter for both the characters and the reader. An abundance of role playing is not only hot but a great representation of two people trying to enhance their physical relationship by lowering their inhibitions and occupying a safe space in which they're allowed to be someone else. Some of the sex scenes are awkward—things don't always go to plan—yet this refreshing taste of realism serves to make Mia and Ansel's relationship all the more endearing. The sexual tension is interspersed with lush scenes of Paris and a resonant story line regarding Mia's traumatic, life-shattering accident and her slow journey to picking up the pieces. VERDICT A sweet, superhot introduction to a promising series.

Sweet Filthy Boy is a winner. Clear as day, it's a must-read! These two authors come together and give you a knock-out book with some of the hottest sex, hilarious dialogue and an amazing story. I fell in love with Mia and Ansel's love and from their first glance across that room I was done for. I wanted to know everything about them and where their story would lead. Maybe it's the writing, maybe it's the humor, hell, maybe it's the accent! But this book clenched my attention and still hasn't let go.

Through a stream of fairytale instances Mia and Ansel meet during a wild weekend in Vegas. Enter Vegas cliche here. When the hot, loving, and yes, filthy-mouthed, Frenchman returns home Mia is right on his tail. This is where the story gets good. While the pair continue to discover their voracious sexual appetite, they also develop a real, lasting relationship. Through a devourable haze of sheet romps, I got to see Mia and Ansel grow and become a lasting commodity. That is until Ansel's lie by omission takes on a life of its own with the potential to ruin everything. Mia and Ansel have only known each other a short time, so do they have what it takes to make it past this hurdle?

Sweet Filthy Boy is kind of like having the perfect recipe for your favorite dish. It's got the deeper side to the story, mixed with the fun loving, hilarious interactions among the characters and scorching sex. I mean the dynamic and chemistry among ALL of the characters sucked me in. Mia and Ansel both have these amazing sets of friends that are downright hysterical. While the story may not be on the realistic side, it is 100% awesomeness. I'm waiting with bated breath for the next in the series and will be shouting from rooftops in the meantime so everyone gets a taste of this!

    Happy Reading!

There has been a lot of internet fuss over Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren. Well me being me, of course I had to see what it was all about.

Sweet Filthy Boy is full of hot dirty talk and enough smut to make it a steamy read.

At the start of the book I was seriously in love. I loved Ansel and how calm and cool he came off. Every time he planned out their lives it just made me a little swoony. Plus he’s just so sweet after the plane ride and how he treats Mia. How could you not fall in love after that?

Ansel was amazing in Sweet Filthy Boy. He was so sweet and loving. Even when he was off working I found I couldn’t be too resentful towards him. He was just so playful and free. The list of French translations he’d leave had me cracking up.

I didn’t hate Mia, I didn’t understand her fully, but she was ok for a book heroine. Mia makes some choices I didn’t fully agree with while reading, but I could understand why she made them. I really enjoyed being in Mia’s head, some of her thoughts were hilarious.

As I continued reading and we get more into the story line (and drama) I found I still couldn’t be too upset with Ansel. Sure he didn’t handle things overly well, but he was in a tough position too and trying to navigate it with the least amount of waves possible.

The sex was good in this book. I loved Mia’s thoughts while having sex, they were familiar. And I know this will sound odd, but I really enjoyed that while the sex was wild in this one it was also a bit realistic. Things aren’t perfect each and every time they have sex. Sometimes they fumble, even strike out, but it just helped make the couple more real for me.

Yet, there were a few things with Sweet Filthy Boy that kept it from a five star rating. Some small aspects of the book didn’t feel as if they had been fully thought out. Things I won't mention because they'd be spoilers, but you can find them in my original review on my blog. (See profile for link) Beta readers people, beta readers, they are important to the book process. If these issues went through a bunch of beta readers then I would say, find new ones. You obviously have a team of yes readers who aren’t doing the authors or the book justice.

Sweet Filthy Boy was 416 pages and I won’t lie for a while I felt each and every single one. Most nights Trish and I do a book check in with our reading group, just to see what everyone is reading. My update for the night might have referred to the lamb chop song, but with new wording. You know, ‘This is the book that never ends, some people started reading it not knowing what it was… ‘ you get the point. There was just so much time spent with Mia exploring Paris on her own, I wanted it to move along already.

But finally, finally the drama hits and I’ll admit it was rough. I found myself getting more emotional than I thought I would. But then, just as I’m really getting into this whole ‘moving forward’ process the book ends. Everything felt way too rushed and a bit incomplete. I imagine we will see Ansel and Mia again in the other books, but those books won’t be about them, it’s not the same.

At the end of the day I would recommend Sweet Filthy Boy. It’s packed with emotions, a decent story, good heroine, sweet hero, and great sex.

Sweet Filthy Boy is a great start to a new series by the authors

Sweet Filthy Boy is a great start to a new series by the authors who brought you the Beautiful Bastard series.  Ansel who is French (how romantic is that?????) is in Vegas with his two best friends. Mia is in Vegas with her two best friends celebrating their college graduation.  Mia, who is shy, spots Ansel across the bar and the seems to be able to talk to him without being tongue tied.  I'm not going to give anything away, I don't like to do that; but I can tell you that you will find their relationship start out with a BANG.... cool down to a simmer, heat up again, and boil over to make a mess of things.
Do things get messy? Maybe, maybe not.  Pick up Sweet Filthy Boy and find out.

    4.5 stars!
I have read (and loved) Christina Lauren's Beautiful Bastard and I was hoping that Sweet Filthy Boy would live up to the great story, heat and characters that I fell in love with when I first discovered this dynamic duo of writers... and it did!  While I am not the biggest fan of reading about characters in college (or fresh out of college) I made the exception for Christina Lauren and I am VERY glad I did!

Sweet Filthy Boy starts with Mia (our main heroine) graduating college and having a last wild weekend in Vegas with her best girlfriends.  As many of us know, What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas, or does it?  Now even though the beginning of this story was predictable it was great reading and once the story really gets started when Mia and Ansel agree to a summer together in France I couldn't put this book down.  The chemistry, humor, wit and emotion that Christina Lauren infuses their stories with is really special and kept me turning the pages well into the night.

Sweet Filthy Boy kept me glued to each page and gave the experience of being in Paris, living through Mia's experiences in the city.  I really enjoyed both of these characters.  Mia was a bit rigid and was pushing herself into a mold her father expected of her not what her heart longed for.  Watching her struggle to be who she was meant to be was inspiring and hard to read at time at the same time (the urge to shake the girl was strong at times).  Ansel was the perfect balance to Mia.  He was focused, had a plan and was both crazy hot, sweet and  dirty (even though he could be a bit shy at times).  Ansel makes me want to fly to France get my own sweet, filthy boy!

Christina Lauren created a new series that will go far!  The characters they created have great chemistry and are people I want to know more about!  Wait!  Don't worry this series while connected, each book is a individual story (with cross-over characters I hope!), no cliffhangers.  Christina Lauren knows how to write a story that is fun, creative, HOT and emotional all rolled up into a fantastic story about two people who are going through life trying to find themselves but along the way they find each other too.

If you are a fan of the Beautiful Bastard series, you will love getting out of the corporate world and going to France as we watch Ansel and Mia fall in love.  If you have have never read a Christina Lauren book before you are in for a treat!  Sweet Filthy Boy is like a modern day fairy-tale about two people who have instant chemistry and take the chance to see where the spark lead.  I can't wait for the next book in this series, Christina Lauren books are auto-buy books for sure!

I’ve been eyeing this book for the longest at Target, picking it up and then putting it back down repeating that process for months. Then finally one night, I just decided to buy it on my Nook on impulse. I’ve never read anything by Christina Lauren until this, and I can genuinely say I enjoy her writing and this book to know I’ll definitely be reading more of her work, and am counting down the days until the companion novel to this series Dirty Rowdy Thing is released.
The story started off really strong, I loved it. I really enjoyed the dialogue of this book, mostly in the beginning. I found myself blushing and squirming at how cute and flirty they both were! Their chemistry was just unbelievable. They got along so well, and he just shocked me at every turn. I enjoyed the whole book, was captivated from the start. Loving Mia’s (the main character) and her two best friend which remind me so much of my two best friends. One completely wild and irrational. The other a lot more rational, and mommy like. Keeping both me and my “whorelow” in check! I loved the lover in this book, Ansel’s one of the best book boyfriends I’ve ever read about. The title is complete fitting for him, because you can really only describe him as sweet and filthy.. ;) This guy is a complete package, handsome beyond belief, french, is an attorney and has the most charismatic personality.

Even though, I enjoyed the whole book, doesn’t mean there are parts I didn’t enjoy. I can seem to choose what I want to rate this 3.5 or 4. It seems a bit unfair to the books I’ve rated 4, and a bit offensive to this book if I rate it 3.5.. Like I said early, the book is great, started off strong, cute, funny, but the last twenty five percent of it is very disappointing.. Like always there’s a falling out, and I felt like there wasn’t even a moment where they talked about it, tried to fix it WITHOUT SEX. Like talking doesn’t work for these two.. It’s a bit shallow.. She just took him back with out even talking anything out, after making a huge debacle in both their lives. Don’t feel discouraged not to read this! I enjoyed the book a lot, and really liked it. I just wish the way things were handled could be different. I definitely think it’s a good read, and I can’t wait for the companion novel!

Mia and her friends go to Vegas to celebrate their college graduation. They get drunk and married, but while friends get annulments before leaving Vegas, Mia stays married to Ansel and returns to Paris with him for the summer before she is scheduled to go to graduate school.

I loved this book! With this title I expected something totally different. While there is a lot of hot sex, this book is more about Mia growing up and deciding what is best for her and what to do to get it. It is also about Ansel growing up. I liked how they both grow up and grow together. They are great together. Ansel is my new book boyfriend. Loved him.

This is a fantastic read and I am looking forward to the next book in the series

Sweet Filthy Boy is the first Christina Lauren book i have read

Sweet Filthy Boy is the first Christina Lauren book i have read but it definitely won`t be the last.
It`s part sweet , part funny , lots of sexy and with enough drama and emotion thrown in that i was hooked start to finish.

This series is started with Ansel and Mia as the main couple but the supporting cast of Harlow (oh how i adored her)Lola, Finn and Ollie are fabulous. When the synopsis for a book gives you Vegas,a one night stand and a sweet filthy boy you know you`re in for a good time and it did not disappoint at all.The sex was hot and as the story progressed so did the steam factor as the chemistry between Mia and Ansel is off the charts, throw in a little role play kink and it`s panty tsunami time. This story sucks you in and doesn`t let go, you laugh with them cry with them shout at your kindle at them !

Life is unfair sometimes, fate will dictate your choices and options and she can be a fickle mistress, Sweet Filthy Boy is a heartwarming story with some seriously hot sex thrown in showing that even thru the curveballs follow your heart find a new path and life is sweet and a little bit filthy !

You know how car adverts mention how fast a car can hit a certain speed in a couple of seconds?  Well Sweet Filthy Boy started with at 80 mph and stayed there for most of the book.  I was the delighted passenger in the front passenger side seat, whipping pages as fast as I could read them in the middle of the night.

In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I'd like this book, which is the first in writing duo Christina Lauren's new series.  I was most reticent about Ansel.  He seemed like a cool, hip French dude, but could I dig him?  Oh yeah.  I was very surprised at how much I adored the urbane and smooth Ansel.  He totally made me swoon.  I liked Mia too.  I liked how after she finished freaking out the morning after, decided to figure out what it was that made her behave so rashly.  Her openness is a quality I would like to have myself.

Once again, the very talented duo of Christina Lauren have written a fabulous book.  Yes it's not about my Beautiful hunks and the women they love, but it's about a new series with a hero I've fallen for and potential for more Gallic goodness to come.  If you were like me and slightly afraid to take a chance on this new series, relax.  It's a great read; Give it a chance.
