The #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling phenomenon

Some things are worth waiting for . . .

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at that fateful Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. What she never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she's building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing . . .

Cameron Hamilton is six feet, three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, com-plete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make Avery want things she believed had been irrevocably stolen from her. Getting involved with him is dangerous. Yet ignoring the simmering tension that sparks between them—and brings out a side of her she never knew existed—is impossible.

Some things shouldn't be kept quiet . . .

But when Avery starts receiving threatening e-mails and phone calls, she's forced to face a past she wants to keep buried and acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. If the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface with one less scar? And will Cam be there to help her?

And some things are worth fighting for . . .

Publishers Weekly
A young woman must come to terms with the secret horror in her past to find love and happiness in this predictable new adult romance by the pseudonymous Lynn (Obsession author Jennifer L. Armentrout). After five hellish years of being called a “lying whore” in her small Texas town, 19-year-old Avery Morgansten is more than happy to leave for college in West Virginia. There she meets gorgeous, blue-eyed Cameron Hamilton, a fellow student who seems as attracted to her as she is to him. Haunted by her traumatic past, Avery is torn between protecting herself and finding love. The path to romance is long and rocky, and Cam has dark secrets of his own, but eventually both lovers come clean and all loose ends are neatly wrapped up. While Lynn’s peripheral characters are fairly one-dimensional, Avery and Cam are compelling. Fans of stories about characters healed by love will find this one moderately satisfying. Uniquely different from anything else J. Lynn's written but it might possibly be her best work yet.

I was so excited and grateful to have the chance to read this!

This, like most of the author's other books is unputdownable and only took me a matter of hours to read. By the time I was finished, two things happened:

    1) I found myself at a loss for words because reading about a character whose experiences partially mirrored my own caught me completely off guard. I'm serious when I say, it's been a struggle to find words adequate enough besides just, "Thank you."

    2) Cameron "Cam" Hamilton gave Aiden St. Delphi a run for his pureblood money! Anyone whose read The Covenant Series knows all the awesome that Aiden is made of so you can imagine how much MORE awesome Cam is. (I want a Cam Barbie for Christmas but if not, Raphael will do too.)

The issues addressed in this book are not light, they're heart-wrenching, gritty and raw BUT they're handled so beautifully and in such a realistic way that it's neither depressing nor offensive. There are plenty of laughs, kisses and heart-racing swoons but above all, there is hope. Hope that what happens in the past, whether by choice or not, does not define who you become unless you allow it to. Will those experiences forever change you? Yes. Will they destroy you? Only if you let them.

Wait For You is uniquely different from anything else J. Lynn's written but it might possibly be her best work yet.

    Funny, Sexy, Brilliant!

    Holy crap on a cracker!

So first off.. that cover.. is it not just absolutely beautiful?? Okay, okay.. On to the good stuff! Wait For You completely blew me away. I laughed out loud. I cried. My heart broke. Truly. A couple times! I was left nearly breathless and I'm sure quite a few shades of red...a LOT. And above all else...I fell in love.. with this book, with Cam, with Avery, with Brit, with Jacob, with Ollie, with the Hamiltons...hey even little Raphael! These characters felt so real and life like. Like they could have existed out there somewhere. Jennifer Aremntrout is seriously gifted that way, in my opinion, with creating these characters that you can't help but adore.

Speaking of. Cam *sigh*. *Swooooon* There are no words. I mean generally I cannot stand a cocky guy. It's such a turn off. But some how, some way, TWICE now she has gotten me into full on swoon mode over some arrogant jerk ..errr confident gentleman. It's a gift I tell you! Ha! Ok he really wasn't a jerk, I just said that more for effect :)

I feel like such a nerdy fan girl but she is seriously my absolute favorite author. Period. There isn't a thing she can write that I won't devour without stopping except maybe to eat or sleep..sometimes not even then! This book needs to be added to your must buy list. It's funny, tear jerking, steamy, sexy and will leave you with a smile and maybe gasping for air ;) :)

Okay I'll end my fan-girl rant. Don't judge me! lol

And just a warning.. obviously this is a New Adult (NA) book so due to some of the content it's definitely geared towards a more mature "audience".

The excessive grammar errors are distracting. Overall, it was mediocre writing and an unoriginal premise. Again, a girl that just pisses you off and a guy that is swoon-worthy material.

My only complaint of this book is all the vulgar language and way too detailed sex scenes. The plot was good and the characters were good but the language and sex scenes could have been dialed down a lot. I liked the love story though and how you got to see their relationship grow and mature. Over all it was ok. I think Jennifer Armentrout has written better books.

    Anyone?

Am I the only one sick and tired and fed up with "reviews" that are more like book reports? I am tire od reading a so-called review only to have the plot ruined by someone feeling the need to re-tell the whole freaking story.

I will not be purchasing this book due to the fact that I now know the entire beginning, middle, and end.

Have some consideration, please. There is a difference between a book review (read: opinion of novel) and a book report. Aquaint yourselves with it. Go post it on a blog or somewhere else it will be appreciated.

Between all the plot spoilers and all the grammar nazis on here they completely turned me off wanting to read it. Plot spoilers for ruining what may have been a good book, and grammar nazis for their superior attitude that they are somehow better than everyone else.

I'm a fan of J. Lynn's Gamble Brother series as well as the Lux series written as Jennifer Armentrout. I was anxiously awaiting this series because I couldn't wait to see what she had to offer in the New Adult realm. This was everything I was anticipating and more!

The story and the characters were complex and didn't get weighed down by college hijinks. Instead we had a girl in desperate need to get away from her uncaring parents, the horrible kids that were in her community in Texas and the lies and humiliation the surround a horrify incident from when she was fourteen. For all intents and purposes, Avery was broken, but she was determined to find a way to carry on. She just never expected that what would finally be the tipping point in her recovery was the campus playboy who just happened to lived across the hall from her.

Avery and Cam were so special, both together and separately. Cam had a way of working his way under Avery's skin with his witty banter and charm. Despite Avery's skiddishness, he never pushed her.  He would joke with her, do things for her and those actions demonstrated to Avery that maybe this was a man who would be good for her. The amount of emotional baggage the poor girl carried around was understandable and you knew she was sometimes overwhelmed by all things Cam and would push him away. But Cam, despite some of his statements and actions was always waiting for Avery. If she wasn't going to fall in love with him, I was!!

Some of the subject matter is hard and some of the character's reactions to the subject matter even worse (I cringed every time Avery would say her cell phone had a text). To me, it just proved the level of ignorance adults and teens have about how hateful their words and actions are. Or even worse, how indifference or selfishness could be worse than the actual event itself.

This is a must read by an author who was already on my auto-buy list. This wonderfully written story and it's cast of charming characters has me in it's clutches from the very beginning. I look forward to more in the New Adult genre from J. Lynn.

I think this book was released early, which is unfortunate, because it definitely could have benefited from another round of editing. This isn't the author's best work. Honestly, it read more like fanfiction of all the other adult novels that have been released recently. All-in-all, this story didn't excite me. It was just okay. While reading it, I wasn't sad to set it down and go do something else for a while. I'm glad I only paid $2.99 for this one, or I'd be a little upset.

    Not My Favorite

Let me start off by saying I have read a lot of her stuff.....and LOVE, like love love the Lux series. (Especially Daemon!) This book was just....okay. There were a lot of typos, which to be honest irritates the snot out of me. I expect it from newer authors and free books and FanFiction, not from something I'm paying for. I truly do enjoy reading Jennifers stuff especially the J Lynn Entangled Brazen stuff ( highly recommend!) but I really was just not impressed with this one. I liked Avery and Cam was alright, I just expected more from this author.

Jennifer has this uncanny ability to do a many things with her stories. One: being able to write brilliantly funny and amazing characters. Next, letting me fall in love with each and every chapter she writes. Create the most perfect and sexy boys on the planet (seriously!). And finally, keep me completely engrossed in the story from beginning to end. It's pure perfection. With Wait For You, she gives you all of that and then some. I cannot even begin to explain how much I adored this perfectly crafted contemporary.

It blows my mind how J. Lynn can always easily mix the dark with the amazing. Nothing is ever perfect for her characters... well unless it's their ego (cough Cam cough). But, that's one of the many reason I always fall in love with them because they are flawed. They do have imperfect pasts. Our main character, Avery has left her home and gone to school across the country to escape her past. She wants to leave it all behind and instead what she find is amazing friends and a beyond perfect man. I loved Avery right from the start. I love how she isn't afraid to be on her own and independent, how she actually cares about school, yet at the same time she's still withdrawn into herself because of what has happened to her before. She's one of those characters that you adore following because you root for their happy ending.

Then there's tall and sexy, I-love-myself Cameron Hamilton. Let me plow into you any day, honey. Cam seriously has everything going for him. He has beautiful bright blue eyes, dark wavy hair, tallness, perfect body, charming, witty, outgoing, likes to look at stars, protectiveness, and his willingness to do anything for Avery. It's pretty impossible not to fall in love with him. I absolutely loved his persistence  The way he stood by Avery's side every time she needed him. How he has the most perfect, loving family. Plus he has a pet tortoise .. I mean come on! Now, a lot of people have said they loved him more than JLA's Aiden from The Covenant Series. For me that is like comparing two of your kids. Aiden was one of my first loves and is one of my favorite book boyfriends. That being said,  does Cam stand up to Aiden's amazing perfection... heck yes he does. I don't love him more though... just equally.

Other than those two, there are a whole slew of amazing characters to love. Jacob, her best friend, is absolutely knee-slapping hilarious. He has the best lines that literally had me laughing out loud. It's impossible to not want a best friend like him. There's also Brittany, Jase, and Ollie (who is mine by the way, I claimed him!). All who are equally awesome. Overall I just loved everything about this book. It felt like a real relationship with real ups and downs. A book with real college life, real family issues, and a scary reality of a dark past. Plus, you know we're all going to be buying turtles now. New turtle trend coming right up, you just watch! If you've been waiting for this book... be ready to buy it as soon as it releases because you will NOT be disappointed.

Usually I can see past editing errors, but this book was horribly edited! That said I feel like she could of added more "depth" to this story. She toyed with the issues and never went to in depth about anything. It was a good read just was lacking!

Oh my god you guys.  This book was everything I hoped it would be and more!  It brought forth so many emotions that I didn’t know what to do with myself.  I had tears of happiness, tears of sorrow, I felt extreme happiness and undeniable sadness, I was giddy with first love giddiness, and distraught over losses…I was all over the place people!  And I loved every single minute of it.

I will lay this on the line right now, and proclaim to you all that Wait For You by J. Lynn (aka the amazing Jennifer L. Armentrout) has opened my eyes wide to the New Adult genre, and had me starting to crave it like chocolate.  Don’t you love it when you find a book that does that to you?

Avery Morgansten has gone off to college to a town far, far away from her home so that she can escape the dark secrets that have clouded her life for the duration of her teen years.  A past that she wants to just forget ever happened, and will hopefully forget her.  But starting over somewhere new, where you know no one is not one easy task.  With all her personal demons she needs to overcome, Avery worries about anyone noticing her, when all she really wants is just to move on.

That all changes for her on her very first day of classes when she literally runs into the hottest and most sought after guy on the campus.  Enter the very sexy, hot, sweet, and the man who will haunt my dreams for who knows how long, Cam Hamilton.  With his killer smirks, his undeniably piercing blue eyes, and a personality and demeanor that should be a guide for men everywhere, Avery finds herself under his spell.  And try as she might to thwart off his charming advances of going on a date with him (which, for the record, I would have said hell to the yes), Cam is not one that scares off that easily.  And so a new friendship is born.

And with this new budding friendship, new feelings come to surface and something so beautiful and real begins to develop.  Something that I seriously, could not tear my eyes away from.  But with Avery’s past coming back to haunt her, and a dark secret that Cam has been harboring deep inside, will their new found trust in each other be enough to keep it all together?  Or will the past come back and tear them apart from something that was so meant to be.

What I loved so much about Wait For You by J. Lynn was … everything!  The writing was done so beautifully.  It was like I was allowed this rare glimpse into something so pure and beautiful.  To be able to witness this story unfold, and go through the ups and downs of this relationship is something that I wouldn’t want to trade for anything.  The characters created were ones that I instantly fell in love with, and ones that fueled my fury for that happened to Avery.  And omg the sexy.  There was much sexy in this book, and it’s not one of those quick few paragraphs kind of deals.  This is one of those sweeps you off your feet into another reality type of sexy times.

I dare you to not fall for Cam.  Seriously!  I dare you!  I was already smitten 25% in, and by the end of the read, I could only think of him.  And Avery?  To understand what she has had to go through in high school…how her “friends” ended up treating her, and the dark cloud that followed her?  And then to see how dark her darkest time was.  It was truly heartbreaking.  And then watch as she realizes what she’s doing wrong, and tries to right it?  Oh my gosh…feelings!

And don’t even get me started on Brit and Jacob.  They were the exact type of friends that Avery needed to move on.  Undying friendship and epically hilarious.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many times this little trio had me cracking up.  I loved how each character had their own personality, and were people that I seriously would love to have in my life.

I really loved the interaction between Avery and Cam.  The playfulness in the conversations, the ease in which they felt in each other’s company.  There were many times where I was literally laughing out loud with the conversations.  And the words that would come out of Cam’s mouth?  Totally swoon worthy.  Like, melty feelings all over the place.  I was a smirking machine, I tell ya.

So yes, I do give much love to Wait For You by J. Lynn.  Mucho love.  This book has officially moved up in my Top Fav’s list, and I will sing its praises to the moon!  I recommend this book to fans of the New Adult genre, who want to witness a beautiful love story unfold, and who want a story that will imbed itself to your very soul.  I adored the story of Avery and Cam, and am pretty confident that you will too.

    5 stars :)

I loved this book. Of course, I love anything JLA writes, but I really enjoyed Wait for You. It's dark enough to keep the reader on edge, but light enough to make you giggle. My only complaint is I would have loved to know more about the "before" part of Avery's life. The little bit at the end wasn't enough, I wanted to see more of her back in Texas. I wanted to get to know her ex-friends, and I especially wanted to read more about her parents. I feel like I would have connected much more with her had we gotten more of where she came from. All that aside, I really really loved reading this. I highly reccomend it :)
