    Ruining Mr Perfect (McCauley Brothers#3)
    Cameron and Vanessa’s Story
    IT’S NOT EASY BEING RIGHT
Vanessa Campbell is a CPA by day and a perfectionist by night. She’s fit, successful…and decidedly lonely. She can’t stop thinking about the youngest McCauley brother, Cameron. He’s just like her: smart, attractive, and usually right-except when dealing with her.
…BUT SOMEONE’S GOT TO DO IT
Cameron McCauley likes Vanessa a little too well. She’s a blond goddess with a razor-sharp tongue. She hates to be wrong, just like him. But she can hold a grudge and is stubborn to a fault-also like him.
A past misunderstanding has them rubbing each other the wrong way. Cam is dying to shake Vanessa up-get her to let loose. But if he succeeds, can his heart handle it?

Cameron is the oddball McCauley. Intelligent, driven and makes his living with his brain rather his hands. He knows his family loves him but also don’t always understand him.
Vanessa is intelligent, driven and understands numbers, they don’t lie or have emotions which, to her, equates to safe. Her family is cold and focused on her academic and business achievements so a busy interfering loud but loving family is foreign to her.
Vanessa is attracted to Cameron but wary of involvement as she knows relationships are not her thing. Her friends are so happy with Cameron’s brothers she doesn’t want to upset the balance.
I didn’t expect to like Cameron and Vanessa but oh I was so wrong, again they are completely different from the previous couples but still so enjoyable. I also loved the side story with Beth and James, to see that time does change things but fight hard enough for what you want and you can save and better it.
    SO……………………………..
What do I want to say about this series as a whole?
The overwhelming factor for me that makes these such an enjoyable read is the amazing banter between all the characters, primary and secondary. The affection, humour and love shines through, the teasing, flirting, arguing, dirty sexy talk and insults flung around through these books make them a pleasure to experience. Like every family they will frustrate and exasperate you – you will be rooting for them while screaming at them!
In a world full of angsty contemporary romance where you sometimes want a palate cleanse these are a joy, they remind me of the reasons I love Jennifer Crusie, Rachel Gibson, Susan Anderson just to name a few. Authors I read in paperback but with the advance of the E-Reader and therefore the popularity of indie writers have not touched in a while. Marie Harte writes a steamy sexy damn fine romance but throw in this gift for the humour and banter and they are a winner for an easy read that will leave you with a smile, a warm heart and tingles in places!
I commented previously that another factor was they are “real “no billionaires, no rock gods, no MC bikers, just normal real men with strong family values who want a good woman and a good life. Simple things that in reality we all want and while I read contemporary romantic fiction and don’t mind the plausibility being stretched a tad it’s a pleasant change of pace to read real, that could be any family anywhere with its ups & downs, tragedies and celebrations. Just trying to get by day to day, working hard and playing hard.
It’s an engaging series, well written with a fabulous quota of panty melting scenes all wrapped up in humour.
I’m looking forward to What to Do With a Bad Boy.

    NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 1/2
    REVIEW:
Awe, Marie does it again. I think Cameron & Vanessa are my favorite so far. I just love how they are so much a like yet different. That Cameron knows how to push Vanessa’s buttons and how she fights back. I loved how even when they fight they don’t really fight. Unless of course Vanessa is wrong then the fight is to the death. These two are just great.
And the side story with Pop & Bitsy is great too. And I loved the introduction to Mike & Del’s book. hehehe..... This one is going to be a fun ride, can’t wait to read.
If you have not started this series you should really think about it. These McCauley boys are hot and know what they are doing. Well most of the time :) And if I were you I would start at the beginning (you don’t have to but I would)

Ruining Mr. Perfect by Marie Harte is a fun read and the third novel from her McCauley Brothers series. This book focuses on the youngest brother, Cameron McCauley, a successful investment adviser and CPA Vanessa Campbell, his brother's neighbor. Cameron and Vanessa are extremely similar in their thinking, especially when it comes to relationships and career advancement. They are a hot couple and Ms. Harte does a great job of creating their heat and sensuality.

This is a steamy, yet sometimes charming contemporary romance. I found all of the characters to be likeable and Cam's parents to be especially interesting. Their actions while living a part were quite realistic and at the same time I was cheering for them to get back together. Overall, a good, solid read.

I received this book via NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Family struggles and love:4 stars--RUINING MR. PERFECT is the th

Family struggles and love:4 stars--RUINING MR. PERFECT is the third instalment in Marie Harte’s contemporary, adult The McCauley Brothers romance series focusing on the tight knit McCauley family. This is financial advisor Cameron McCauley and CPA Vanessa Campbell’s storyline-two perfectionist people who can never be wrong. While their little idiosyncrasies and expectations bother everyone else, Vanessa and Cameron discover they are more alike then they could have imagined.  RUINING MR. PERFECT can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty although I suggest reading in order. Any pertinent information from the previous storylines is revealed when necessary.
Told from third person POV, the majority of the storyline focuses on the building relationship between Vanessa and Cameron but also journeys into the struggles of the McCauley parents.  As James and Beth McCauley’s marriage begins to dissolve, Vanessa and Cameron’s sexual attraction to one another is difficult to ignore. Cameron has enrolled himself as a member at Vanessa’s gym, in order to get closer to the woman he has been attracted to for a very long time.
Vanessa and Cameron are perfectionist and idealist. They both have long term goals; financial and business agendas; cool exteriors and fiery personalities. On the surface Vanessa comes across as acerbic and forthright but her past has formed the woman she is today.  Cameron comes from a supportive and over-zealous family whose love for one another is beyond measure. It is their childhood experiences that have forged their personalities and quest for success. The sex scenes are provocative, intense and hot but saying that their one on one conversations were stilted, professional and cold-a possible reflection of their normal personalities but one that didn’t make for a sympathetic character.
A portion of the storyline follows Beth and James McCauley as they struggle with their thirty year marriage. A lack of communication and mistaken beliefs have erected a wall between the couple, and it will take the help of their well-meaning but concerned children to show them exactly what it is they have and will lose. If you wondered why the McCauley brothers were so stubborn you just have to look at the parents. The teasing and horse-play back and forth between the brothers is entertaining and very familiar.
The world building continues as the McCauley family continue their journeys toward love and a happily ever after.  The secondary characters include all of the previous storyline couples as well as the widowed Mike McCauley and mechanic Delilah (Del) Webster. We are introduced to Del’s protective and extended family knowing that Mike will be in for a difficult time.
Marie Harte’s MCCAULEY BROTHERS is a story of family struggles and falling in love. Marie’s stories resonate with passion and love for four brothers whose lives have become a little more complicated and full with the women they love.
