She’s someone he thinks he knows…

Violet Wilson is a wallflower. Shy, serious, and accident-prone, she’s got a bad habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The night she’s forced to pose with her friend might just be the worst time of all—that’s when she meets Jet Blevins. Social worker and perennial helpmate Violet does her best friend a favor and winds up in the laser-sharp sights of local rocker Jet, just where she wants to be but fighting it all the way. When Violet shows up at an addiction meeting just to give her BFF Tia moral support, she meets Jet, who maneuvers her into acting as his sponsor and keeps her at his side as he works through his addictions, previous bad behavior and a fledgling music career—all the while keeping a horrible secret to himself, one that would surely drive Violet away if she knew. Violet, good girl extraordinaire and first-class square, falls into an uneasy friendship with the rich, sexy, rock-star playboy, keeping the fact that she's not an addict to herself. They inch closer to a sexual relationship, which it's clear he wants, but she is morally conflicted, until all the truths come out and everyone is devastated. Best-selling author Leighton knows how to write sexual tension and conflict, and it's clear why she has such a following. However, without exactly being clichéd, the book is unrealistic in annoying ways. Jet is a sexy rock star. Violet's mom was a rock groupie. Violet won't tell Jet the truth, which, for a social worker, seems both unethical and ludicrous. Jet won't tell Violet the truth, and the truth is really pretty despicable, so despite how much he complains to himself and calls himself names, it doesn't do much to engender our sympathy and makes us furious at him in the end. Violet is a really sweet person, but she comes across as a doormat. Tia is a narcissistic witch through most of the book, and Violet's dad is a pathetic drunk. But suddenly, in the end, due to all the trials and tribulations of Jet and Violet, everyone changes his or her ways. Still, there's enough edgy sexiness and seductive storytelling to find an audience.Often overdone and irritating but also engaging and charismatic, so it will find its crowd of admirers.

READY SET JET! A WILDLY GOOD READ!

My last M. Leighton book was "All the Pretty Poses". ATPP was a sexy, angsty and very enjoyable 5 star read for me. Could M. Leighton do it again? YES! Yes she can and she has. Jet is a rocker and a bad boy. A very bad boy. Violet is a good girl who has a penchant for fixing "things". Jet is everything that Violet knows she should stay away from and Violet is everything that Jet didn't know he needed. They are both also lying to each other when they meet at a sex addicts support group. There are absolute swoon worthy moments here. The chemistry between these two not only feels real - it made me smile and imagine myself in Violet's body looking at those twinkling blue eyes. There is a underlying secret here and it is a doozy. To tell you would ruin the book for you so mums the word. What's next M. Leighton?! Whatever it is I'm riding shotgun! Go 1-click TW,TTY and All the Pretty Poses while you're at it. You'll thank me later.

    Mostly good

    ## Mostly I liked this. I love that the author wrote this with alternating perspectives. Her writing style is stellar, as always. Violet and Jet had tremendous chemistry and it came across the page perfectly.

    Spoiler alert:
What I didn't like and the reason I don't usually read "rocker" stories are all the women. Throwing themselves at Jet and him eating it up. Loving the attention. Losing himself in as many as possible. I can't stand man-slut heroes. And then when Jet confesses that he isn't a sex addict after all, I had to strongly disagree. He's bedded hundreds of women, groupies
and strangers. I call that a sex addict. I believe he said he goes through women like water. Yuck, gross. Why would any self respecting woman want this guy's used up man parts anywhere near her? I have a hard time believing that Jet would be faithful to one woman.

Other than that, this is a good book which I would still read again now that I'm prepared.

5 stars - Jet is this story!

I have loved this series from the beginning. Everyone book has been so good. I love this author. Her writing is passionate and it feels real. Her characters are far from perfect and they make some huge mistakes. But that's what makes it so good.

Both Jet and Violet have secrets they're keeping from the other. They meet at a sex addict meeting and the attraction is crackling. But Vi isn't that kind of person despite where she is. Of course, Jet doesn't take no for an answer because that's who he is. He's a rocker that's used to women falling at his feet. But there's something different about Vi. If he could just get over lying to her, he'd be fine. The fact that it bothered him was what helped me deal with it.

It's clear what Vi is lying about but Jet's lie is hidden. I had a passing thought about it and it turns out I was right but I didn't think I would be so I was still surprised by it. I tend to feel better about this since both were hiding things but the real cause of my love for this book is their relationship.

Jet is a rocker who wants to write songs. He attracts women and that's good for the band. He doesn't get that he's not happy. He only figures that out as he spends time with Vi. She's into helping people. It is her addiction. But she does it to the extreme and doesn't find her own happiness. But when she's with Jet, she's happy. Together they are better than when they are apart. So despite that fact that they went into the relationship both lying, I was just so happy with THEM.

The story flies by and I just didn't want to put it down. I read it in a couple of days. Would have been less if that pesky life thing didn't get in the way.

The swoons between these two are yummy. The sexy times are hot. Jet loves to satisfy her and she can't get enough of him. I enjoyed that part so much.

If you've read the rest of this series, you'll want this one too. But this book can stand alone. It will appeal to the romance readers that enjoy some real story to go with the sexy times.

WOW. SIMPLY AMAZING!! I completely and utterly fell in love with TWTTY. Broken alpha male. Strong, smart heroine. Tense sexual situations. I am helplessly ADDICTED to M. Leighton's books, and this one tops them all!

Violet is a helper. From her alcoholic father to her sexaholic best friend. She's seen what addiction and dependency can do to a person, so she avoids it. Avoids anything and everything that could potentially be dangerous and create a destructive habit. Instead, she focuses her time on helping others. She agrees to attend SAA meetings with her best friend as moral support, and there she meets sexy, arrogant rocker Jet. She knows he's danger with a capital "D" and that she should stay away from him. However, she unable to resist him so she agrees to be his sponsor. She wants to help him overcome his addiction and be a better person. Or at least that's what she tells herself. But she's not the only one with a secret.

The character development was incredible, and the dual POV's was pure genius. I felt like I knew these characters, I understood them. With their flaws and doubts, they were very real, very relatable. I LOVED the witty and playful banter between Violet and Jet. Their chemistry was magnetizing! They captured my heart from the very beginning. Violet is a smart girl who thinks with her head and doesn't let her emotions lead her. She has an amazing heart, always selflessly helping others before herself. And Jet... *sigh* He's a sexy, slightly possessive, broken rocker! Need I say more? There were definitely a lot of sexual tension in this book and I LOVED every bit of it.

This book gripped me to the very end. It was filled with humor, passion, angst, tension, and heart-aches. And I couldn't get enough of it. I was laughing in some parts and crying in others. I highly recommend it. It's a definite MUST READ!!

Favorite quote: "When I made love to you, I did it loving you with the heart that you changed."

4stars-THERE’S WILD, THEN THERE’S YOU is the third full length instalment in M.Leighton’s adult, contemporary, The Wild Ones romance series.  The storyline focuses on social worker Violet Wilson and musician Jet Blevins. Told from alternating first person POV (Jet and Violet) the story weaves a tale of lies, betrayal, addiction and heartbreak. Although this is the third storyline in the series it can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty or confusion.
The premise follows the building relationship between Violet and Jet- a relationship built upon lies, dishonesty, and deceit. Violet ‘s personality is that of a nurturer, a co-dependent, and also that of an enabler and, Jet is the perfect foil for her affections.  As a social worker, Vi is always looking for that broken bird and Jet appears to be more broken than most.
Jet is a man on a mission-a struggling musician who will meet Violet at the most inopportune time and Violet will become the object of both his affections and his end game. When the truth is finally revealed Violet’s heart will break and there may be no forgiveness for man whose past is dark and his future even darker.
The relationship between Violet and Jet is slow to build-from strangers, to friends, to lovers our leading couple will discover one another’s emotional triggers but in doing so with uncover lies, deceit and betrayal. Violet will overhear a conversation between Jet and his band mates that will leave our heroine heartbroken and her self esteem destroyed.
The secondary characters include Vi’s father, and her best friend Tia who struggle with their own addictions. Jake and Laney from Some Like It Wild –book two-make an appearance giving the story a familiar edge.
    M. Leighton has written an emotional storyline of anguish, grief and sorrow. THERE’S WILD, THEN THERE’S YOU is a story about a relationship built upon lies and in the end will come tumbling down when the foundation is nothing but dishonesty, omission and deception. Our couple with get their happily ever after but it will be a struggle with issues of trust always on their minds.

Violet and Jet meet under unusual circumstances at an SAA meeting.  Violet is trying to support her friend Tia and winds up getting up and saying that she is a sex addict.  She meets Jet at the meeting and their unusual relationship begins.  It was an interesting concept and made for a good story.  Jet is hiding his own secret and it takes most of the book to uncover what it is.  When his secret is revealed, Jet must go to unusual means to try and win Violet back.  Overall a good story and a plot that keeps you guessing.  If you liked the other books in this series, you will like this one.  M. Leighton didn't disappoint me with this book at all.

    M. Leighton brings the heat!

I didn't think it was possible to say, but...Move over Leighton Bad Boys, there's a new top dog in town! JET! He is funny, charming, alluring, oh so sexy, and bad, very bad (in all the good ways). Even though at times you want to throw your e-reader at what an a-hole he is, stick with him because his soft, loving, and passionate side is what makes this rocker who he is. I love Violet & Jet's journey. The only disappointing part was that the story ended. I love cameos from some of the other fave Leighton bad boys (JAKE! - It made me think of marshmallows). This wasn't a 5-star read, it was a 10-star read. I'm a proud Minx and can't wait to see what she has up her sleeves next! Another knockout, Michelle!!!

    AMAZING READ!!!!

The Wild Ones Series is one of my favorite series from Michelle, as The Wild Ones was the first novel I have ever read by her.  I can honestly tell you that I think her writing gets better with every book and I didn't think that was possible.

This book was so captivating that I read it within hours could not put it down. Hell…. I didn't want to!  I think I may have even highlighted more than half of the book on my kindle, because it was just that good!

Violet was a helper and because she was trying to help a friend she crossed paths with Jett Blevins. Her attraction for him undeniable and as her time with Jett increases he tears down the walls she has forged over the years to protect her heart.  A hidden truth could cost her all she has risked.

Jett isn’t your typical rocker or is he?  With women available at his whim and constantly throwing themselves at him, but he wasn’t expecting Violet to take his heart by storm.  While spending time together Jett hides another side to himself for fear that it will send her running.  But he too holds as secret. And that secret holds just as much devastation as hers.

Will that connection and the foundation that they have started be enough to withstand the truth?

I love the story and the genuineness of the characters. Violet, the name sounds innocent enough but with a little bit of influence from Jet all bets are off. Jet awakens feelings and needs in Violet that she had closed herself off from.   Jet, well he pretty much stole my heart.  It's not uncommon for me to fall for the lead character in a Michelle Leighton novel, however, Jett is pretty close to taking the crown.   He comes off all badass but underneath that exterior is a  sensitive, caring and lovable man.

As the story develops and the plot unfolds I was pulling hard for a resolution, a happy ever after for Violet and Jett.  Yes, there were tears, yes there is angst.  There were some super sexy scenes and some heart stopping moments.  But most of all there was love and a beautifully told story.

Although this is part of The Wild One Series I believe you could read it as a standalone.   There are some characters that appear from novels past but I do not believe it will detract from the story.  Go grab your copy of There’s Wild, Then There’s You and let Jet rock your world.

Between all of M. Leighton's "Wild" men to date - Tric

Between all of M. Leighton's "Wild" men to date - Trick, Jake and Jet - Jet from There's Wild, Then There's You, is by far my favorite, and he's also the worst of the lot. How does she do that?
Volet is a helper. She feels the need to help anyone who needs it, no matter if that means she has no time for herself or just to go out and have fun once in awhile. It's in this capacity that she finds herself at a sex addicts meeting to support her BFF who fails to show up. In a fit of desperation, Violet tells the group she is a recovered sex addict. She captures the attention of Jet Blevins, lead singer and guitarist for a local rock band. He asks her to be his sponsor, and in true Violet fashion, she agrees, even though it's under false pretenses. Jet and Violet grow closer and closer, while sharing more and more of their lives with each other. But, they're both withholding facts about that initial sex addicts meeting that could destroy their budding love before it really gets going.
I had a love/hate relationship with Violet. On one hand, her giving nature was respectable and admirable. She's a social worker, so she's used to fixing other people's problems. Her dad has a drinking problem, her BFF has issues (don't get me started), and then when Jet approaches her about sponsoring him, she agrees to that as well. She doesn't go out, doesn't know how to have fun. After awhile, I realized she's sort of pathetic. She constantly sacrifices of herself so that others can be lifted up, and each time, she loses a little bit more of herself. The fact that she doesn't realize this makes me nuts.
I think that's why I loved Jet so much. He was the one person that got Vi out of her own head and caused her to do things out of character - which was exactly what she needed. He wasn't willing to overlook their attraction to each other, despite meeting at a sex addicts meeting. He's got some balls, I'll say that much.
But, the more we see of these two beyond what they allow everyone else to see, the more I was endeared to both of them. Violet's rocky relationship wtih her dad and her nonexistant one with her mother is really very sad and has colored her views on love and relationships. Jet's dad has lots of money, but no time or attention for his son. His mom isn't happy with the way Jet is leading his life - drinking, sex, rock-and-roll - so, she doesn't want him spending time with his impressionable younger brothers, and that hurts him immensely. He doesn't think of himself as worthy of someone else's love because to date no one has deemed him worthy. It's pretty sad, actually.
It becomes evident early on that Jet is harboring a secret that he doesn't want Violet to know about. We all know what Vi's secret is (that she's not really a sex addict), but Jet's we could only speculate on. I have to say, I was WAY off on this one. I love being surprised. And, when I found out what his secret was, I thought it was both better and worse than it could've been. But, yet - it is pretty damaging, especially the way that Vi finds out.
The best part of There's Wild, Then There's You is how Jet and Violet both help the other without even realizing they're doing it. They encourage and uplift and care about each other in subtle ways that make a big impression. It's told in dual POV, and includes M. Leighton's typical extra spicy moments that I just love so much.
Although there is no mention of Trick and Cami from The Wild Ones, we do see what's happened with Jake and Laney from Some Like It Wild (The Wild Ones #2), which I was very thankful for.
If you haven't started M. Leighton's Wild Ones series, yet, you really need to. These bad boys are the best.
