Bestseller Griffin (Tracers) delivers the goods with this perfectly gritty romantic thriller. Austin homicide detective Andrea Finch, suspended after a justified off-duty shooting, gets a disturbing call from her younger brother, Gavin, a computer genius who’s fallen in with a bad crowd. Investigating the backcountry Texas ranch where Gavin is holed up with murder suspect Shay Hardin, Andrea runs into FBI agent Jon North. Jon thinks the ranch harbors a militia group with devastating potential, though the FBI doesn’t give much credence to his theory that Hardin’s the mastermind behind a deadly bombing and a plot to kill a senator. When Jon can’t shake Andrea, he recruits her to help his investigation. Andrea is split between loyalty to Gavin and her duty to serve and protect—and she’s got the feeling that Jon might be a man she can let inside her tough-as-nails defenses. Griffin sprinkles on just enough jargon to give the reader the feel of being in the middle of an investigation, easily merging high-stakes action and spicy romance with rhythmic pacing and smartly economic prose. From the very first Laura Griffin book I read she quickly became one of my favorite authors. She always weaves a believable suspense story with just the right
amount of romance and Far Gone is no exception.

What's awesome about this book is that it's a different kind of mystery. This time we know up front who the bad guys is and we get to follow along with Andrea
and Joe as they unravel the trouble that Andrea's brother is in and connect all the dots in the bigger picture.

Another fun part of reading Far Gone is that characters from the Tracers series make cameos in the book just as characters from Laura's other books make
cameos in the Tracers books. It's such a treat when I recognize someone from another book that I loved.

I recommend Far Gone for anyone who loves suspense thrillers with a hint of romance.

    Outstanding Romantic Suspense.

I thoroughly enjoyed Laura Griffin's FAR GONE. The characters won me over in the very beginning, remained true to themselves, and the investigation that brought them together kept me riveted to the story-- a real page turner. Great peek inside law enforcement and tracking a powerful villain. The characters learned so much about themselves and had such growth from where they began to where they ended...and I could sincerely believe they fell in love midst such chaos and racing against the clock. The suspense element was terrific.

    Sensuality Level: spicy

Andrea Finch is a police detective on leave after an incident has landed her in questionable territory. Even though she should have time on her hands, she needs to keep her younger brother out of trouble. When he asks for money, she knows something is up, and she's not sure what kind of trouble he may be getting himself into. Andrea ends up in the middle of an undercover FBI investigation intertwining an unsolved murder, a disarming FBI agent, and a secretive younger brother. Can Andrea keep herself out of trouble and help unravel this mystery at the same time?
I loved Far Gone and honestly, I think every story Ms. Griffin writes gets better and better! I was completely engrossed from page one, clear through to the very last page. I didn't want it to end! Ms. Griffin makes the story complete with precise detail that wraps the story up with finesse. The romantic anticipation along with the suspense, will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very beginning. I adored Jon North! He was not only a tough FBI cookie, but unknowingly to him, a romantic hero too. The teamwork between the hero and heroine meshed perfectly, along with some added sexual tension. Again, I totally loved it! Ms. Griffin is a master in the romantic suspense genre and it doesn't get any better! Far Gone is not only a Must Read, but a Keeper too! Bravo!

Ms. Griffin’s books came highly recommended by trusted members in my book club. Naturally, I had to give her latest novel a chance. I’m not disappointed with the recommendation at all; Far Gone was an enjoyable read. Though it had its slow spots, Griffin starts and ends this story with intense scenes that kept me at the edge of my seat.

Police detective Andrea Finch has just scored herself an unwanted vacation after shooting a young perpetrator without following protocol. Perfect timing as her dear brother had gotten himself into a world of a legal mess. Being her brother’s protector since they were young, Andrea is forced to interfere and involve herself with FBI agent Jon North’s murder case. Seems her brother had involved himself with  very bad people.

I enjoyed that nothing in this story was sugar coated. Both Andrea and Jon had to make choices based on their personal and professional judgments. Neither of them picked the easiest path nor picked the path that would please the other. Ms. Griffin certainly didn’t make it easy on them. The romance between Andrea and Jon was not as strong as I would like, but it’s enough to make the relationship realistic and enjoyable for romance readers such as myself.  What I love the most about this book was the unexpected twists and turns towards the end. I’t totally caught me by surprise.  Well, done Ms. Griffin.

This is my first Laura Griffin read and will not be the last. I’m hoping Andrea’s brother would get his own book. I really would like to see what happens to him. However, from what I was told, this book was not intended to be a series. Maybe with enough requests, Ms. Griffin will consider giving Gavin his happy-ever-after.

Another "Thriller with a Heart." This book provides a spell-binding mystery told in simple terms. The narrative is like a curtain slowly rising. The more you find out, the more you want to know. Danger appears on all sides as a psychopathic killer lets nothing stand in the way of his plans. The Government is typically bureaucratic and obtuse as The FBI Agent and the local police detective struggle to make sense of what is happening and find the evidence to build a case against the killer. This is definitely an action story, with lots going on, and few words wasted.. I found the book so compelling that I read it in the space of two days, spending all my available time on the book.

I have had the pleasure of reading a few of Laura Griffin's book

I have had the pleasure of reading a few of Laura Griffin's books now, and I became an instant fan. This lady knows how to write one really awesome romantic suspense story. This is one of those books that I just could not put down. I was very close to end and I just could not bring myself to put this book down until I found out how the story ended. I stayed up a little later than normal but Far Gone had me completely captivated and I had to know.

Andrea Finch has had a rough spell with work. She was in the wrong place at the right time which resulted in her having to make a difficult decision. She is placed on leave while the situation is investigated. However she doesn't waste her time while she is on leave. She goes in search of her brother and some answers. She finds her brother and she doesn't like what else she finds. There is a lot of things going on and she is afraid that her brother may be in danger. I could go on and on here, this is such a WONDERFUL story line but I really want you to be able to enjoy the book so I'll stop there.

I will tell you that in her investigate she meets up with handsome FBI agent Jon North, who is performing some investigating of his own. Much to both of their dismay the end up working together. There is an instant attraction between these two and also some interesting bickering that leads to some tension. These two have what it takes to make some seriously dramatic scenes as well as a few steamy one.

I really enjoyed this story and it certainly is a page turner. I suggest you plan plenty of reading time when you get ready to read this one. I know I had a horrible time setting it down and then I got to the point where there was no way I was putting this book down. It's a very suspenseful, dramatic story that I think you will enjoy. I know I certainly did. If you are a fan of Laura Griffin's work already you will notice gets a little help from the Delphi Center which is connected to some of her other work. I always like when books are connected. However this one is completely able to be read as a stand alone.

I loved this book and I can not wait to see what Ms. Griffin has in store for us next. She certainly has a devoted fan in me. I will be anxiously awaiting her next release.

I must mention one more thing, I loved the cover on this book. I normally don't judge a book by it's cover, unless it's a fabulous cover that is. In this case I loved the story under the cover as much or more then I loved the cover. I was fascinated by the cover so I had to mention it.

I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Far Gone.

Distraught after killing a young suspect in an unavoidable shoot

Distraught after killing a young suspect in an unavoidable shooting incident, Austin detective Andrea Finch decides to take her mind off her own problems by following her younger, wayward brother to a nowhere south Texas town and find out why he’s once again dropped out of school and into trouble only to find herself in the middle of an FBI homegrown terror investigation that her brother’s smack in the middle of. She decides to fight with instead of against the sexy agent who’s on the case. She’s convinced her brother’s an innocent in all this but whether the agent believes her or not is the big question.
Special Agent Jon North’s been on this seemingly hopeless case long enough to know he better put up or he’ll get shut down when a beautiful lady cop shows up with a capital T for trouble written all over her. When it becomes obvious that the trouble’s both personal and professional for him Jon’s more than interested and just a bit afraid too.
As they follow the trail of dead bodies, dead ended leads and radical clandestine suspects
they’re also fighting a loosing battle against their powerful desire for each other and wondering where it will lead.

Laura Griffin’s newest and first ever hard cover release is an impressive piece of romantic suspense, a genre that she’s an expert storyteller in and a go-to, must read author for me personally. This edge of your seat page-turner is part crime drama part provocative romance and had me holding my breath from the first chilling page to the last. Her meticulous attention to detail is evident in every shell casing description and every evidentiary summation that she expertly showcases with her expressive and visual narrative while her in your face cop speak dialogue tells her unforgettable story. Her characters all rock especially her relationship phobic, realistic hero and heroine. Be prepared for heart palpitations and a racing pulse as you read this fantastic novel. Fans of Lisa Gardner, Lisa Jackson, Nelson Demille and Michael Connelly will love Laura’s work.
