Luke and Melody are made for each other, but can't be together because of the family feud that keeps them apart. Luke rescues Melody from the big city and hopes that she can rescue their town. In the meantime, they rekindle their love for each other. The humor was good and at times the story was very emotional. I was sad to see this series end, but I also felt this story was the best in the series.

It’s sometimes hard to imagine there are families like the Nielsons and Fants. Yet, there are. They hold a grudge several decades old and refuse to see how said grudge is keeping them from something good. A feud is what tore Luke and Melody apart fifteen years ago, and it’s keeping them apart now.
I had to admire Luke’s need for peace amongst the feuding families, but I didn’t agree with it. Sometimes, grudges are best squashed as soon as possible. There’s so much potential for bad to happen when they aren’t, but if the offense is forgiven there’s room for a brighter future for everyone. There were times when I was right with Melody, wishing Luke would man-up and show the citizens of Cupid it was possible for a Nielson descendant to love a Fant descendant.
I love Melody’s drive. Once back in Cupid, Texas, she threw herself into doing everything she could to help bring life back to her hometown. She brought Cupid into the modern age, posting a age old tradition of “Dear Cupid” letters onto the internet and generating national interest in her town. Awesome…except she wrote a letter by a fictitious woman whose situation was almost similar to hers and Luke’s. A brilliant marketing move, since the letters got plenty of cyberspace time, but at what cost?
There’s no denying Luke and Melody feel more than lust for one another. It’s just finding out how to get past their ridiculous relatives to secure a future together that they deserve. In the end, it all worked out. That’s the difference between them and Romeo and Juliet. No one died in the end, and they honored a family member by marrying on the anniversary of his death, forever closing the gap between their families and bringing peace to Cupid once and for all.
Hopefully.
A well-paced novel that kept me reading because I wanted to know how it ended and what it would take to bring peace to the natives, so to speak. Ms. Wilde didn’t disappoint. From the Manhattan skylines to the dusty roads of Texas, from love lost to love reunited, Love was my front row seat to a modern day Romeo and Juliet drama with a much better ending.

Luke Nielson and Melody Spencer are from families locked in a long standing feud. They had an attraction to each other since they were teenagers which led to a kiss at the annual 4th of July picnic. This kiss was witnessed by Melody’s cousins who then beat Luke so badly he was put in the hospital. Melody decided that she was getting out of Cupid at the first opportunity and she did.
Fast forward to present day, Cupid is in trouble due to a terrible drought that is driving people away from their town and the tourist money that was coming from them. As the current mayor of Cupid, Luke comes to New York to hoping to get Melody to help them save the town.
Unfortunately when he arrived it was to witness Melody’s most humiliating day ever. Melody is fired from her job at Tribalgate for being too honest and dumped by her boyfriend, Jean Claude, all in the same day! Luke offers her a job and directs her to an affordable place to live (his building). She accepts because it is supposed to be temporary and she really has no other option at the moment.
Read about how Luke and Melody come up with ways to save Cupid while falling in love with each other all over again. The sparks between Luke and Melody are instantaneous and HOT!
It is part of a series but this can definitely be read as a standalone. A must read!

Lori Wilde is one of my all time favorite Authors! I have read everyone one of her books and they have all been Absolutely Fantastic and Love With A Perfect Cowboy, the 4th book in the Cupid, Texas Novels is no exception. Luke Nielson has never forgotten his first love, Melody Spencer., but old feuds between her family and his kept them apart. During one of the worst days of Melody's life. Luke shows up and offers her a job helping the town bring tourists in during a very bad drought. Sneaking around town to keep prying eyes away from a rekindling romance isn't either one of their ideas of fun, but it's necessary to keep the peace in the town. Melody brings attention to the feud by writing an anonymous letter to Cupid from a fictitious lovelorn teenager. I was drawn in from the very start and could not put it down. I guarantee you will be too!!!

Lori Wilde's next & last book in the Cupid, Texas, series was as wonderful as the others! Star crossed lovers Melody Spencer & Luke Nielson never had a chance because of an old family feud. When circumstances bring them together to save their hometown, sparks ignite. Will their love be enough to bring their families together? This is a book that you'll love reading & want to share with friends.

Lori Wilde has written another excellent, fun,and seductive romance for Cupid, Texas fans! The chemistry between
Melody and Luke was scorching!!! Add to that the 90+ year feud between their families and you have one heck of a
great romance with some humor mixed in. So sorry to see this series end but if it must....what a great story to end
it on!!!!! Definite keeper!

I was sad to find this is the last of the wonderful series set in Cupid. I have enjoyed every visit and this one is the best. Melody and Luke let their families feud tear them apart when they were teens but in a town were first loves come back and conquer all obstacles, will something like a family feud keep them apart? No way. Melody ran off to New York to chase her dreams but that couldn't stop them from finding their way back together. Luke brought her home to help save their town but couldn't save his heart. This is another fabulous story with all the quirkiness of the Cupid and it's native families can bring. Don't miss out on this one!

Another hit from a wonderful author. Even though this book is part of a series, it stands on it's own.
This is a modern day "Romeo & Juliet". A family feud keeping a young Melody and Luke apart leading to heartache. Years later they are thrust together to save the town. Among all the chaos love blooms once again.
What more could you want from this series? Only thing I have to say on the negative side is that I wish the series didn't have to end. Oh well, all good things must end.

Great ending to the Cupid, TX series!
I loved Melody and Luke’s story!
Melody left her hometown of Cupid, Texas and has been living in New York working in the PR industry. Just when she thinks that she’s about to get a promotion, her boss fires her for being too honest. Her day just gets worse when she arrives at the apartment she shares with her boyfriend to discover that he’s removed her belongings and left them with the doorman.
Luke arrives in New York in search of Melody for two reasons. Cupid is experience a severe drought and tourism is down. This has affected all the business in town and Luke hopes Melody can come up with a good plan to help drive tourists to Cupid. Melody is also the girl that Luke has not been able to forget in the fifteen years since she left town.
A family feud similar to Juliet and Romeo separated them when they were in high school, but now they are in New York away from their families. Melody cannot deny their chemistry and decides that she would like to have one night with Luke with no strings attached. When Luke returns to Cupid, he offers Melody a job with the city to boost tourism while she finds another job in New York.
With both of them in Cupid and the family feud still going strong, Melody and Luke have a hard time fighting their feelings while keeping the town in the dark about their growing relationship. Will their love be enough to overcome decades of fighting? Read the book and find out!

Cupid, Texas gets a Letters to Juliet twist in Love with a Perfect Cowboy, and it was very nicely done. It's the ultimate "lovers with a past" story, with a family feud tossed in for good measure.
The feud began back in the prequel novella (One True Love) when John Fant left Elizabeth Nielson at the altar to marry Millie Greenwood, and it's all coming to a head ninety years later in the final book of the series with Millie's great-granddaughter Melody and Luke Nielson.
Fifteen years earlier, the two had a secret relationship that culminated on a tragedy on the night of their first and only kiss. Now Cupid's suffering from the worst drought in--well, forever--and Luke, now the mayor, has gone to Manhattan to try and lure Melody away from her ad agency job to help her home town out.
It's not too hard to do, since she's just been fired from that job for being "too honest". Ouch.
Oh, and she's also been dumped by her live-in boyfriend...or so the doorman of their building informs her. Yes, the doorman.
Obviously, she is not having a stellar day.
Melody agrees to go back, but insists that any kind of relationship between the two of them would be crazy and can never happen.
Except that they might have accidentally spent the night together (in every sense of the word) in New York. And once they're living in the same town again? Yeah, it's next to impossible to keep their hands off each other, let alone keep others from seeing how they feel about each other.
But there's a real crisis going on in town, between the drought and dearth of tourists--not to mention the feud is still alive and well with most of their family members. How can this possibly end well?
It does, of course (Hello! It's a romance novel ;)) and really, that's my only issue with the book. The ending feels a little too pat and neat after all the deliciously-well done angst and drama of the rest of the book.
On the strength of the first 95+% of the novel, though, this is a solid four-star read. I really enjoyed the characters of Melody and Luke. I especially loved their internal monologues in the early portion of the book, when they were fighting the attraction they both felt. As the book progressed, they both told some rather significant lies to each other which is usually a negative for me, but the reasons behind them were solid and Melody especially did an excellent job of coming clean.
Soooo...all's well that ends well, then :)
I'm sorry to say goodbye to the people of Cupid, Texas; but the strength of this novel gives me great hope that Ms. Wilde's next book and series will be one to look forward to.

This is a book that I can picture reading over and over. It’s the perfect summer read. Maybe you’ll want to read around the 4th of July, maybe you’ll want to read it on a day where the weather is less than perfect and you’re looking for something to take you some place else, or maybe you’re looking for a great end to the summer read. This book will fit perfectly for any of those situations. And when the two main characters connect is when I came to the conclusion that I would love to listen to the audiobook.
The saddest part for me was when I finished the book. I really enjoyed this latest in the series. But the good news is that I can revisit Cupid at any time. All I have to do is pick up one of the books and start reading. It also makes me looking forward to what she has in store for her readers next – and I can’t wait.

Lovin' n Feudin' in Cupid TX
Melly is down on her luck in New York City. She's just been fired from her high-powered job in an ad agency - for being Too Honest! That's OK, because she still has her handsome boyfriend she's living with. However, when Melly gets to the expensive apartment, she finds her belongings packed and waiting for her. Apparently she's been fired by her boyfriend. So now she's on the street.
And promptly runs into Luke, her boyfriend from a lifetime ago when they lived and loved in Cupid, TX. Torn apart by a stupid family feud that still raged generation after generations back. The feud tore them apart, and Luke is in New York looking for Melly to come back to Cupid to help the town become solvent after suffering an 18 month drought. Luke is now the mayor of Cupid, and still loves Melly. She doesn't think she still loves him, but boy-howdy was she wrong!!
Melly agrees, reluctantly, to take the job to try to put Cupid back on the map while trying to keep her distance from Luke. She finds the feud is still simmering and ready to explode at the drop of a hat.
Melly's attempts at helping Cupid are well received until the lose money on the first one! She devises a plan to set tongues in and out of Cupid a'waggin. What better way to bring visitors to this little town than to play up the feud! Luke forbids that and Melly just can't understand why. Headstrong, she secretly carries out her plan.
I completely got lost in Melly and Luke's passion for each other. It was believable and Hot! They never lost their teen-age feelings for each other and had to try hard to keep the fires banked in order to keep peace in Cupid. This family feud had nothing on the Hatfields and McCoys!
I loved the characters in this town and passion between Luke and Melly. I expected her to go behind Luke's back and implement her plan. However, I did not expect the consequences of her actions. I was holding my breath till the end of this book to see if the feud was put to rest or if she had to return to New York for her own safety.
Luke was the perfect hero! This is the first book in this series I've read, but I am searching out the others. I have a feeling all of the heroes are going to be as intriguing and passionate as Luke.

What a great book! I did not read the others in the series, but it did not matter. This was another enjoyable book by Lori Wile. But then again, I don't think I have never read one of her books and didn't find it enjoyable Loved the story between Melly and Josh. Lori has proven once again that anything worth having is worth the wait! Thank you Lori, for sharing their story.

I Loved the book it was a easy read. If you like stories about forbidden love, family feuds like the Hatfeilds and McCoys, and Small towns this is a book for you. I didn't want to put it down. Mellody and Luke have loved each other for years but their family feud had kept them apart. This is a sweet love story with a surprising ending. Kim Ralston

As always, Lori Wilde never fails to deliver on her promise of a HEA. And she certainly outdid herself with Melody and Josh's journey in rediscovering their teenage romance. The family feud kept them from following their dreams all those years ago but, in her own special way, Ms. Wilde ensures that they find each other once again and overcome the obstacles that seem insurmountable while also engaging the reader's emotions and has us cheering for the hero and heroine. An absolutely delightful, heart-warming story.

Steamy in the town of Cupid! Loved this final book in the Cupid, TX series by Lori Wilde. Beautifully written romance between Melody and Luke, two long lost lovers meant to be together despite the feud between their families. This book had me hooked from the first chapter and at the end I was left wanting more! Sad to see this is the end of the Cupid series but I know Mrs. Wilde has more in store for her fans. This is my favorite book in the Cupid series and I would highly recommend reading it. Lori gets an A++ from me!!!
