They say you never forget your first time, but there's nothing Blue Butler and Kasper Pennington would rather forget than their brief but fiery teenage love affair. Yeah, it was hot while it lasted, but then he went off to join the Marines, leaving Blue in New Orleans. She's tried to block him from her mind for good, but nothing can really erase the feeling she had when she was with him.

And now he's got the nerve to return—leaner, meaner, and strong enough to pull her into his arms and kiss her senseless. Blue's a successful businesswoman now, with no time to figure out what went wrong all those years ago. But Kasper knows she's the one woman for him … and now he's got to prove it to her all over again.

Library Journal
10/15/2013
Between the family feud and getting very familiar with each other in a tree as teenagers, Blue Butler and Kasper Pennington have a long and turbulent history. It has been nearly 20 years, but when the Pennington matriarch shows up on Blue's doorstep, Blue and Kasper find themselves together again. Can Blue and Kasper overcome their past to build a future? VERDICT Don't be fooled by the brevity. Gibson has packed major heat and chemistry into these pages. [LJ Xpress Reviews, 9/13/13.]—Kellie Tilton, Univ. of Cincinnati Blue Ash

Meet the Author

Rachel Gibson

Rachel Gibson lives in Idaho with her husband, three kids, two cats, and a dog of mysterious origin. She began her fiction career at age sixteen, when she ran her car into the side of a hill, retrieved the bumper, and drove to a parking lot, where she strategically scattered the car's broken glass all about. She told her parents she'd been the victim of a hit-and-run and they believed her. She's been making up stories ever since, although she gets paid better for them nowadays.

    Not worth the price

Wished I had known it was only 55 pages then I wouldn't have bought it. I hate these little nothing stories. It was a cute story, but there could have been so much more to it. Don't waste your money.

55 pages of crap. That's all you get for your $1.99. I have read some of her other books and really enjoyed them. I can't even believe she would put 55 pages of a not finished story out there.

    Cute short story

I thought that this was a cute short story! I liked how Blue and Kasper had a history together and how their family feud went back hundreds of years, but these two knew each other's families.

    Enjoyable but short

I always love a Rachel Gibson story. This was no different. I only wish it was longer. The change of setting from previous books is a good touch as well. I like stories with history and these characters waited a long time to have their HEA. I wish there was more of Kasper's g-ma. She is feisty and we don't really know why she seemed to help get them together even though she had distain for the family. It's also nice to know this story for when you read Rachel's next book Run to You.

Short book you have get 2nd book to get the finish. I bought the 2nd book which was a repeat

I like this author but was disappointed with book which left you hanging for 2nd book and the 2nd was a repeat of this 77 pages. I would read Run To You And save the $$

    A Cajun Read!

I loved the short trip to the deep South with this novella. It is a fun and satisfying read, with witty dialogue and a great plot. I love with this novella that I could finish it in a sitting or two. You'll enjoy your trip to the Bayou!

I recently read Run to You by Rachel Gibson, and enjoyed it. In Run to You, we briefly meet Kasper Pennington. When I realized Blue by You was a novella featuring Kasper and his second chance at love, I happily dove into this story.

Blue by You was so, so good! I love novellas, though this was such a good story and I would've been thrilled with a full-length novel. This was such a sweet story of an amazing connection between a young man and woman from rival families, and the second chance the receive twenty- two years later. Despite its length, Blue by You had a well-developed story and characters in Kasper and Blue.

Though I adored both Kasper and Blue, and their second chance, what truly pushed Blue by You fully into my heart was the setting. Blue by You is set in southern Louisiana, and the author did an amazing job of incorporating everything that makes Louisiana so special into the story. There were crawfish boils, street music, and mentions of the landscape and architecture that makes that state a piece of heaven. It was so great, and I became so homesick for my former home that my heart hurt a tiny bit.

Blue by You is my favorite of the two Rachel Gibson stories I've read. She has a way of quickly pulling you into a story. Combine that with comfortable and fun stories, and that is why Contemporary Romance is my favorite.
