4.5 beautiful stars: As you know, this series is dirty and dark

    4.5 beautiful stars:

As you know, this series is dirty and dark and depressing (as most of Jessica Sorensen's books are) but this one was a little more pretty than her other books, especially the other books in this series.
In Ever After Ella and Micha have to deal with their pasts and their fears, namely Ella's. She's afraid of giving herself to Micha, she's afraid she won't be enough and one day he'll want to leave her, she's afraid of becoming a wife and mother, she's especially afraid of having a future. But, in true Micha fashion he's there to support her and love her and reassure her that he'll always love her and she's more than enough for him.

"...and then we'll have our happy, sad, sometimes good, sometimes bad, crazy, bumpy, intense, worth-the-journey ever after."

As always Ms. Sorensen delivers an awesome, amazing, heart-breakingly beautiful story. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Ella and Micha. I've loved watching them grow both as individuals and together. I've loved watching them fall in love over and over again. I am so sad to say goodbye to Ella and Micha but I'm so, so happy they are getting their HEA.

"...finally getting to our wonderfully, imperfect, difficult, complex, yet beautiful and worth it ever after."

    Beautiful

I loved the conclusion of the saga that has been Ella and Micha and the fact that they finally got married and had their HEA but was dissapointed that the story didn't go another few years in the future so we could glimpse the further development of their relationship after the tour. Also would have loved to have heard abt Micha's metioric rise to musical fame but overall was a beautiful love story.

I am a huge fan of this series and I think my favorite part about this book is the title.  Forever......  It means from the get go that this will not end in one of the evil, yet awesome cliffhangers Jessica is well known for.  It also implies that no matter how much is thrown at them we will finish the book with a smile on our face.  Was this story filled with the heart wrenching reality that is the life both Micha and Ella lead and have led, sure. But through it all there is a hope that comes with true love.  If you have not read the previous books, this book is probably not going to be nearly as enjoyable for you, so I would suggest starting with The Secret of Ella and Micha.  If you have read the first two books you are going to want to snag this puppy now, grab a cuppa and hibernate in a snuggly read spot until you have finished the entire thing.

***I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Nerd Alert Book Love blog***

This is book 4 in The Secret series. You could probably read it as a stand alone but it might be a bit confusing being it is the continuation of Ella and Micha's story.

"...Star Grove.  My hometown.  The place where I broke apart and was put back together again. That place that holds so many memories,  both good and bad..."

Ella and Micha have been through so much in life already but together they seem to be able to face and deal with what ever life has thrown at them in the past.

"...Micha has been my light in my dark life..."

Ella is trying so very hard to put her past behind her and focus on her future with Micha and their upcoming wedding. The future scares her as does all of the emotions she is dealing with but she gets really thrown off when a mysterious box gets delivered to her days before her and Micha say I Do.

"...I'll always be with you,  inside and out.  Through hard times and helpless ones, through love,  through doubt..."

Micha has been waiting to make Ella his own since he was about 4 years old and he offered her a juice boy, a toy car, and a reason to smile. And he is so close to getting exactly what he wants. But Micha gets offered his dream job and he doesn't know how to approach Ella about it.

"...She laughs a little more and I swear to God the sound of it is the most amazing thing I've ever heard.  Rare and beautiful..."

What is in the mystery box that has Ella in so much turmoil? How will Ella's dad and Micha's mom handle the upcoming wedding? Can Ella once and for all face her demons and let go of the past? How will Micha tell Ella about the job offer and the 3 months he will be away from home? How will Ella handle it? Will Ella and Micha get their ever after or will it all unravel again?

"...then we'll have our happy, sad, sometimes good,  sometimes bad, crazy, bumpy, intense, worth-the-journey ever after..."

I have to admit I went into this book a little nervous about what would happen to Ella and Micha.  I honestly thought she could have stopped their story after the second book, well that it's until I read The Temptation of Lila and Ethan.  But this book was so beautifully written.  And the flashes to the past and the on going story just moved me to tears so many times. Of course,  I giggled a few times as well. I absolutely loved the flow of this book and how it all played out. Ella and Micha are two of my favorite characters and their story is so heartbreakingly beautiful.  I gladly give this book a Nerd Alert A++ or 5 stars.  Jessica Sorensen,  you are a brilliant poet of words among authors!

Great way to complete their story

This one wasn't quite as emotional as the previous 2. Once I dove in, I couldn't stop. Loved it from start to finish.

    more from this reviewer

I have to start by saying that I feel in Love with Ella & :M

I have to start by saying that I feel in Love with Ella & :Micha hard in book #1. I’m not sure why but I was drawn to them. I really related on some level to what they were facing. And I loved to see that they are getting there H.E.A. Although they had a very rocky start you just know that they were made for each other. I love that Micha will always reassure Ella no matter how crazy we all think she is acting. I guess I relate to that a lot! LOL But like I said I really like this series. I don’t what to give it all away. I just want to say I REALLY liked it! A strong 4-Star book

Micha is the tiny glimmer of hope in Ella's otherwise tragic life, the light in an otherwise blanket of darkness and depression.

"You were the only one who could make laugh, smile, have fun, not give up. You were always there for me and somehow, through the crazy intense years, you fought your way into my soul and ended up becoming my everything."

Theirs has been a love story slowly drip feed to us in tantalising segments over three books and now The Ever After of Ella and Micha has reached its climax. We have learnt why Ella is the way she is and how Micha has taken small steps to ease her out of her shadowy corner and into the light of a more fulfilled life.

"You became my life lifeline, the one person I could rely on no matter what, whether I was upset or pushing your way-you were always there for me."

She has learnt to trust him as a friend, a best friend forever and as a lover. It has taken several false starts for her to fully allow herself to immerse in a full-on relationship, but long distance and other circumstances have been overcome to the exchanging their wedding vows by a lake surrounded by their friends and reconnected family members.

"I'll always be with you, inside and out. Through hard times and helpless ones, through love, through doubt."

Their story has it all. A life that was once full of only pain now to one of happiness, trust and security. Two soul mates entwined forever and always.

The first book was awesome but this book was really slow, had a really hard time finishing this book. There was no excitement or anything to really hold my interest but since I bought it I finish it. They had their HEA.
