One More Chance

Grant

“It’s me, but then you know that. This is the forty-eighth message . . . which means I haven’t seen your face in forty-eight days. I haven’t held you. I haven’t seen your smile. I don’t know where you are, Harlow. I’ve looked, baby. God, I’ve done everything I could. Where are you? Are you even listening to these messages? Your voice-mail box is all I have left of you. I fucked up. I fucked up so bad. Just call me or answer my calls or send me a text. No, call me. Don’t just text me. I need to hear your voice. I just . . . I need to see you, Harlow. I can’t make this right if I can’t hold you—”

BEEP

Another message cut off. Damn voice mail never let me finish. But then I wasn’t sure she was even listening to her voice mail. I’d been calling every damn night since the moment she walked out my door, and still nothing. I had gone to her dad’s house in Los Angeles, and no one had been there, though I hadn’t been able to see for myself—I wasn’t even allowed past the gate. Security threatened to call the police.

Rush assured me she wasn’t in Beverly Hills. But he knew where she was. She had told him where she was going the day she left my house for the last time, but he wouldn’t tell me. He said she needed time, and I had to give it to her. The night he told me he couldn’t tell me where she was, I had planted my fist in his face for the first time since we’d known each other. He’d taken the hit and shaken it off like the badass he was. Then he’d warned me that was my only shot. He understood, but the next time, he would be fighting back.

I had felt like a shithead for hitting him. He was protecting Harlow, and she needed someone to protect her. I just couldn’t stand not being able to hold her. Not explaining why I had acted like a jackass.

Blaire had just started talking to me again. She’d been so mad at me when she’d seen the bruise on Rush’s face and his bloody nose. She’d refused to speak to me for almost a month.

I couldn’t talk to anyone but Harlow’s voice mail.

I would wake up in the morning and go to work doing manual labor for one of my construction jobs. I needed the physical abuse in order to sleep at night. Once the sun set and I couldn’t work anymore, I would come home, eat, take a bath, call Harlow’s voice mail, and go to bed. Then I would do it all over again the next day.

Nannette had stopped trying to contact me. After I kept refusing to answer her calls or the door when she came over, she got the hint and left me alone. Seeing her only brought back all the pain I’d caused Harlow, and I hated seeing Nan’s face. I didn’t need any more reminders of all I had done to hurt Harlow.

Was it possible to hate yourself? Because I was pretty damn sure I did. Why hadn’t I controlled the shit pouring out of my mouth the last time I’d seen Harlow? I’d ruined it. I’d hurt her. Remembering her face as I’d ranted about her not telling me about her illness made it impossible for me to look in the mirror. She had been scared, and I had been worried about me and my fucking fears. How had I become so selfish? I had been terrified of losing her, but all I’d done was send her running.

I was a bastard, a heartless bastard. I didn’t deserve her, but I wanted her more than I wanted to breathe.

I was losing precious time with her. I wanted to make sure she was safe and protected. I wanted to be there to take care of her and make sure she was healthy. Make sure her heart was OK. I didn’t trust anyone else to keep her alive. Fuck! The idea of her being anything other than alive ripped open my chest, and I had to double over to breathe.

“You gotta call me, baby. I can’t live like this. I have to be with you,” I cried out into the empty room.

There were times in this book when I thought things were not going to go the right way for Harlow. Her letters to her baby made me feel like crying and had me thinking that she was not going to make. Grant's letter to Harlow at the end did make me cry. I loved how it had Kiro and Mase's pov. Nan's pov really surprised me and had me thinking differently of her. I would like to see her and Major get together. I think they would be good for each other. What Nan did for Harlow was unexpected and shocking, which me start thinking differently about her before I read her pov. I just think that Grant and Harlow are perfect for each other. Bethy's meltdown at the club has me very anxious to read her's and Tripp's story next. I am going to be all sad when this series comes to and end because I like all of the characters so much.

Grant and Harlow's love story continues in this 2nd book.  Loved

Grant and Harlow's love story continues in this 2nd book.  Loved it. Absolutely.  Was glad that there were no other "love" interests that got in the way.  Harlow gave Grant his second chance and he more than came through. So very good.  One more thing, because I don't want to give anything away.  The Letters Harlow wrote - get your kleenix ready. That's all I'm saying!!!

Abbi Glines has done it yet again in One More Chance.  I will tell you, I haven't found an Abbi Glines book that I rated less than 5 Stars!!  I have seriously LOVED each and everyone of her books.  She is an author that once a book is out, I am buying it!!  The Rosemary Beach Series is my all time favorite series.
One More Chance, starts where the first book leaves off.  I LOVE Grant and Harlow's amazing journey.  I will give nothing away, but I will say this....you will need tissues while reading this emotional story.  This book draws you in and doesn't let go until the very last page.  I can't say enough about these wonderful characters and the way they all come together as a family.  One More Chance and the rest of the Rosemary Beach Series is outstanding, fantastic, wonderful, emotional, and I can't get enough.  This series is a MUST read!!!!  Can't wait for more from the talented Abbi Glines!!!

Grant and Harlow's romance is gut wrenching, sweet and life chan

Grant and Harlow's romance is gut wrenching, sweet and life changing. We pick up where we ended in Take a Chance, Grant is miserable and Harlow won't take his calls. She is hiding in Texas because of how he reacted to her heart condition. Harlow has a bigger secret that has even bigger consequences than her heart condition. When Grant finally gets to Harlow the sparks reignite as two soul mates reconnect. The real question is can Grant support Harlow's latest decision? What would you do to protect the love of your life? Abbi Glines had me laughing and crying while I took this amazing journey with Grant and Harlow as they fought for true love.

    Abbi you did it again!

First, let me start by saying I did not enjoy the beginning of Harlow and Grants story in Take a Chance. Shockingly I only gave it 3 stars. I only bought and read this because I love Abbi Glines and usually rate her books 4 or 5. I am so happy that I did not pass on this one. Finally, the Grant I wanted to read about!

If you have not read Abbi Glines, please don't start here. Begin with the first in the series, Fallen Too Far you will not regret it. ENJOY!

In the second instalment of Grant and Harlow’s story, Abbi Glines takes a much more sweet and heartfelt approach to this novel. While still sexy, there is a noticeable emphasis on the importance of family and the weight of decisions that one person makes.

The story starts off with Grant and Harlow separated. If you’ve read the previous book to their story, then you already know of Harlow’s big secret that was revealed. As a result, she pushes Grant away, thinking that he doesn’t want her anymore. But that’s the exact opposite of what Grant feels. In fact, he is absolutely miserable until he sees her again.

If you’re a fan of Blaire and Rush’s story, then I don’t see you having an issue with this one. Following along a similar route, Grant and Harlow are taking the next step to their relationship. But as it happens, several complications lie in their way, specifically where Harlow’s life is concerned.

Though aware of the warnings and discouragement of her family, Harlow remains strong and makes a decision for herself. She firmly believes that some lives are worth more than others, but it is her unconditional love that truly makes me admire her character.

Glines intersperses the story with a few letters which add a whole other dimension to this book. Sweet and heartbreaking at the same time, they offer comfort while also tugging on the heartstrings of readers.

I also really enjoyed Grant’s character. He’s not afraid of telling Harlow exactly how he feels and as a result, I think readers will fall harder for him. His unconditional love really comes through in the pages, adding to the beautiful story Glines has created. ONE MORE CHANCE has become my favorite Abbi Glines story so far.

It was also nice to read Kiro, Mase’s and even Nan’s POV as well! Poor Kiro has his heart bashed up one too many times and I don’t think he really knows how to handle it all. But what’s beautiful about it is that he still holds a candle to his wife, no matter that she was been gone for awhile.

ONE MORE CHANCE is a sweeter taste of Glines’ writing, but it is no less engaging or sexy. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself flipping through the pages quickly.

I pre-order this in DECEMBER! Needless to say that I have been looking forward to this for a while. It did not disappoint. Harlow is one of my favorite girls in the Rosemary Beach series and I loved both of her books. Grant is absolutely adorable. Abbi Glines did not disappoint with this one. I did get teary-eyed at one point, which honestly there are several times where you could get tear-eyed.
I really liked the character development of Harlow. She wasn’t the strongest character from when we first meet her. She really grew throughout her two books. At the end of this one, she is very strong, but in a quiet way. She has such inner strength that I think all girls should have.
Grant is Grant…aka he is wonderful. He has always seemed so sweet to me and I love that he finally got his own books and his own girl. As soon as Blaire pointed her gun at him in the first Rosemary Beach novel I have looked forward to his book.
I give it a 5/5. I don’t always give Abbi Glines books 5/5, but this one was very good.

Ok, one thing I really didn’t get was that Nan giving Harlow her blood was such a big deal. I mean it is nice of her to day, but really was it that big of a deal? The doctors just said it was BETTER if it came from a relative, not that it was going to kill Harlow unless it came from a relative. I just didn’t seem like it was that big of a deal. I wasn’t impressed and I still don’t like Nan. Hopefully by the time her book comes around I will like her more, but so far its not looking good.
I really liked that she did Kiro POV chapters. I really want Dean to have a book and I am so excited to read Kiro and Emily. It will also be really sad because we know the ending of the story and it’s a heartbreaking one.
I am also very much looking forward to Mase’s story! Now that we have met Major I am wondering if he will have a side romance OR maybe get with Nan????? The plot thickens! Also more importantly where did Blaire’s brother go? I really wanted to hear more from him!
Now while I really liked the ending, I also didn’t like it. I know it doesn’t make sense, but I was almost disappointed. I thought maybe Harlow would die or maybe be in a coma for longer. I don’t know. I was a little put off by it. However I still really did like it!
I also wanted more from Grant’s father. I liked the couple interactions that we had with him, but we don’t get a lot from Grant’s side. No clue about his mom, very little about Grant’s place in the company or the job he has. I just wanted a little more background on Grant.
As usual for an Abbi Glines book I read it in one sitting, refused to do anything else till I finished. Really great story and I can’t wait for the next Rosemary Beach book!!!!

I feel in love with the Rosemary Beach Series from Book One &quo

I feel in love with the Rosemary Beach Series from Book One "Fallen Too Far" but I have to say out of all the Rosemary Beach Series "Take a Chance' & "One More Chance" are by far my favorites.

Grant Carter and Harlow Manning are so heartbreakingly beautiful as a couple and I never thought I would find a two book story they could break and heal my heart all at the same time. I went as far that when the second book "One More Chance" was released I took a vacation day from work so I could dive right back into a story that had me prisoner until the last page.

Abbi Glines has a way of not only making her characters come to life but she also makes you the reader feel as if you are apart of their family or a close friend of these characters. And I think it is because of her talented writing skills that her books are just a dream to read.

I am a huge Rush Finlay fan and in my heart he is # 1 but Grant Carter did give him a run for his money! I loved One More Chance, I felt the pain they were both going through. There were times I just wished I could jump into my book to comfort them both. This is a must read ASAP. Can't wait for Tripp and Bethy's story.
