Chapter 1
David Patterson parked his car and headed into the Clawed and Dangerous Kitty Cat Club, a Dallas-based social gathering spot for jaguar shifters. Humans didn't know that the shifters even existed, and the shifters meant to keep it that way. The owners of the establishment didn't restrict humans from frequenting the place, since more business meant more money.
But David wasn't there to support the club. His current task as a Special Forces Golden Claw JAG agent was to follow two unruly teens-jaguar shifter twins Alex and Nate Taylor-and bring them into the JAG branch if they violated one more law, jaguar shifter or otherwise.
This was not the kind of mission JAG agents normally took on-unless the organization felt the teens were at risk, or that they could be a welcome asset to the branch, and the agent was between assignments.
Neither of the boys was supposed to be in a club that served alcohol, which he would let slide if they were only there to watch the dancers in their skimpy leopard-skin loincloths and micro-bikini tops.
The place was more crowded than David remembered the last time he was here. One rowdy group caught his attention. They looked...different. Many were in great shape-almost as if they were shifters in the Service. But they were speaking in a smattering of foreign languages-Spanish, Russian, Chinese-and some of them wore clothes that were...unusual. Tights, sparkly tops, and ballet slippers that looked less like club clothes and more like what a Las Vegas entertainer would wear. The air-conditioning blew their scents to him. Not jaguar shifters.
They smelled of elephants, horses, camels, lions, tigers, and dogs. The circus? Had to be from there. David was surprised they hadn't changed into everyday normal clothes, unless they were trying to help promote the circus.
He wrinkled his nose, glad he wasn't planning to drink anything here tonight. That was the problem with being a shifter-the enhanced ability to smell odors. He noticed other patrons glancing their way, wrinkling their noses. Must be shifters, too.
The jungle music beat shook the floor and tables as conversations hummed all around him. A few couples danced on the floor, while others were just drinking and talking. Piped-in sounds of parakeets and parrots twittering and calling to each other and an occasional monkey's howl made the silk leaf jungle sound more like the real deal.
David's attention returned to Alex and Nate. Though not as muscular, they were both as tall as David and they could pass for adults. Alex's hair was blond, his eyes a dark blue, while Nate was less tan and his light brown hair shaggier.
One was dressed in camouflage pants, the other blue jeans, and both were wearing black T-shirts with pictures of differently posed jaguars screen-printed on the front. The words Panthera onca-the scientific name for jaguar-announced to the world that they were jaguar shifters, though only their kind would realize that's what they were saying.
When David had been that age, he'd felt the same way. He'd wanted to shout to the world that he was a jaguar shifter and damned proud of it, instead of hiding it from everyone who wasn't like him. Since there were more human females than female jaguar shifters, he'd wanted human girls to see him as someone truly special. He'd often fantasized that girls he'd had crushes on were of his kind and not strictly human. Most of his kind were born as jaguar shifters, but some were humans who had been turned, which was not the best of ideas. Though his brother's wife, Maya, had turned her brother's wife-to-be and that had worked out well, despite the trouble it could have caused if Kat had had family.
So he could definitely commiserate with the twins.
The boys grabbed chairs at a table and David sat at another close by. Nate flagged down a server wearing a skimpy leopard-skin dress, cut high on the thighs and low on a very well-developed bust. Red curls bouncing about her shoulders, she smiled brightly at the boys as Alex whispered their drink order.
Grinning, the kids focused on two women who were dancing, breasts jiggling in their teeny bikini tops. David shook his head. The boys were so much like him and his twin brother, Wade, at seventeen.
The server returned with the boys' red-colored drinks topped with lime-green paper parasols, the toothpicks seated in cherries.
David was about to move in to ensure the drinks were nonalcoholic when Alex said, "Okay, listen, Nate. We did it your way last time and you know how much I objected. This time we can't take a chance with the missing zoo cat."
David sat back down in his seat, listening intently. They had to be talking about the missing zoo cat from Oregon. Maya, his brother's wife, had a cousin-Tammy Anderson-who was looking for a jaguar missing from the zoo.
Nate snorted. "Hell, everything would have been fine with the jaguar if all had gone as planned. At least she's safe for now."
He wanted to hear more of the boys' conversation about the missing cat before he took them in for further questioning, if he felt the situation warranted it, but he saw something quick, big, and muscular in his peripheral vision. The bouncer. Brown eyes, nearly black, muscles bulging in readiness, mouth turned down. Hell. Joe Storm.
As much as David didn't want to make this personal, he couldn't help feeling a grudge toward the guy. David still believed that if Joe hadn't stolen Olivia Farmer away from him and promised to marry her-which he had no intention of doing-she wouldn't have committed suicide.
David watched the former JAG agent turned club bouncer stalk toward the boys. He looked eager to teach a couple of shifter teens they weren't welcome at the club until they were of age. David had worked with Joe on a couple of assignments and knew that the bouncer liked women-too damn well, in David's opinion-made allowances for most men, and had zero tolerance for troublemaking teens.
"Hey, Alex, trouble's coming," Nate said. Though David knew from experience that kids had to learn from their own mistakes, he also knew how hard Joe could be on them, and David didn't always agree with Joe's stern methods of enforcement.
Before David could reach the boys and protect them, the bouncer grabbed Alex and Nate by the arms and hauled them through the crowded club toward the back door. "I'll break both your bloody noses," Joe growled. "See if you'll want to come back for more after that, eh?"
Joe never made idle threats. David had seen him rough up a drunken human who had started a fight in the club. Joe had broken another man's nose for harassing one of the club's dancers. Talking Joe out of what he intended to do was not going to work.
David lunged from behind and hit Joe in the side of the head with his fist. Joe released the boys at once, but neither of the brothers left the club as David had expected they would.
"Go!" he shouted, just as Joe swung around, aiming to plant a fist in David's face.
David ducked and came around to slug Joe in the jaw, but managed to hit him in the temple instead, knocking the son of a bitch out cold. It was one helluva lucky punch, and it felt damn good, he had to admit. Joe was an ex-marine, ex-boxer, and ex-bartender. He looked like he killed men for pleasure, but right now, it appeared he'd be sporting some major bruises.
Getting the upper hand with him was probably as much a shock to David as to everyone else in the club. The music had stopped and all conversation had died. The teens had vanished.
Cheers went up and David gave a thumbs-up to the club patrons' raised glasses, whistles, whoops, and hollers.
Grinning, he hurried to call his boss, Martin Sullivan, director of the JAG branch, about the boys and the missing jaguar as he headed for the door, still hoping to catch the kids before they disappeared for good.
"Martin, I've got good news and bad. The good news is that the Taylor twins seem to know something about the missing zoo jaguar. I want in on the case with Tammy Anderson. The bad news is that I'm probably about to get arrested. Can you tell her I'm working with her on this mission and to come pick me up from jail?"
Jaguar Hunt is a paranormal romance with a mystery to boot.
Attempting to find a missing jaguar, David Patterson and Tammy Anderson must track down the clues and uncover who is behind the cat's disappearance. The clues take them to Belize where they run into some trouble of their own. Precocious twins and assassinations attempts keep both Tammy and David on their toes and sometimes stuck as cats.
Although this is part and partial of the Heart of the Jaguar series, this book can be read as a stand a lone.
A sizzling sexy, romance with a fun and exciting mystery invested me in this story. If I had to pick one, I'd have to say the mystery held me most. Spear weaves a plot filled with wonderful twists and many unexpected turns during our couples investigation. I definitely look forward to more of the (2) sets of twins and what mayhem that might cause.

Jaguar Hunt is a nice blend of mystery, intrigue, action and steamy romance. What more could you ask for? I have read Terry Spear's wolf shifter series so I thought I would give this a try. I was not disappointed.
Agent Tammy Anderson and Enforcer David Patterson team up on a mission that takes them to Belize. They are following two teen boys who may have information about a missing jaguar. Tammy and David soon learn that there is more to this mission than they originally thought...missing jaguar, mischievous teen boys and a budding romance. Will Tammy and David be able to keep their minds on the mission and their hands off of each other?
Tammy is one tough agent who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done. David is one sexy enforcer who knows how to protect his partner. The chemistry between Tammy and David quickly heats up in exotic Belize. I will never look at a waterfall the same way after this read. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
JAGUAR HUNT is the third instalment in Terry Spear’s contemporary, adult Heart of the Jaguar paranormal shifter series. This is jaguar shifters Tammy Anderson and David Patterson’s story. David is Wade’s brother and Tammy is Maya’s cousin whose story was told in book two-Jaguar Fever. With the continuing search for a missing ‘natural’ jaguar, David (a special forces Golden Claw JAG agent) and Tammy (an agent in the Enforcer branch) will be paired together on an assignment that will take them to the jungles of Belize where they will find assistance from an unlikely source.

The relationship between Tammy and David begins as partners working towards a common goal and ends with a declaration of love and a happily ever after. The sex is animalistic, steamy and seductive. Their inner cats have found their mates but the timing finds our couple on the run when their lives are threatened and they are no closer to discovering the whereabouts of the missing jaguar.
Terry Spear pulls the reader into well paced storyline of suspense, mystery and action; developing friendships; and the introduction to the next generation of potential JAG agents. Not only must David and Tammy search for an elusive and missing jaguar but they are caught in a web of deceit, revenge and betrayal that finds them the target of someone within the force. The secondary characters are colorful; mask their true intent and drive the premise of the storyline. Terry Spear does a terrific job of combining the major and minor players into a tale where you don’t know who is the guilty party or why.
JAGUAR HUNT is a perfect blend of mystery, suspense and romance. The reader is never lost or trying to find their way back to the story. There is always something happening and always a path back to the leading couple and the storyline premise.

This was a great book. I don't read many of Ms. Spears' books, but this was definitely a 4-star read for me. I loved the characters and the entire "other" aspect of the novel, which remains grounded in our world with the supernatural wandering through unbeknownst to humanity. Keep 'em coming!

I’ve really enjoyed this series. I haven’t reviewed books one and two, but I have read them. I can say that it’s not necessary to read them in order, but it’s helpful. Each book sort of plays off the last one even though they standalone just fine.
I’m going to get the negative comments out of the way. The perspectives sort of run together a bit, but it’s not a huge deal. What really bothered me was that they mention how good jaguar shifters’ hearing is, yet they’ll talk openly about mission details in a crowded dining hall where other (ordinary) people can clearly hear them.
Oh and my biggest pet peeve, about ANY cat shifter book, is that the big cats DO NOT PURR. Only the cheetah does, while the others can roar and the cheetah can’t. Yes, I watch too much animal planet et al. However, I digress, most big cat shifter books have them purring and it works from a romantic stand point…
That being said, now I’ll talk about the goodies! The mystery was good. It had a lot of twists and turns, but not in a confusing way. It wasn’t too easy or two hard to jump to the conclusion. The characters were all great. I really enjoyed the teasing banter between Tammy and David, and I absolutely adored the teen boys – they were great fun.
Jaguar Hunt is a fun sequel with a great balance of mystery, romance, excitement, and danger. It’ll take you on an awesome wild ride!

Jaguar Hunt is the third book in the 'Heart Of The Jaguar' series by the talented Terry Spear.
These books are paranormal romances which feature a different couple in each book, this story belongs to David and Tammy, both Jaguar shifters who work for a government agency which deals with shifters in particular, they have been assigned a case to investigate the disappearance of a Jaguar from a Zoo, this case will take them to Belize and with the help of two mischievous but helpful seventeen year old twins Alex and Nate, they'll discover that more is going on with their case than was first thought, and with the realisation that there is a mole in the agency who will stop at nothing to eliminate David, Tammy and the twins to escape detection.
These two have some serious chemistry going on which is exciting to read, with an action packed storyline which features appearances from characters featured in the previous books there is something here for everyone to enjoy.
Another fantastic story to add to Terry's amazing catalogue of releases, this is a series that I highly recommend.
Jaguar Hunt by Terry Spear is another exciting Paranormal Romance/Shifter Romance. #3 in the "Heart of the Jaguar", but can be read as a stand alone. However, I would suggest reading the other two in the series. See: "Savage Hunter", and "Jaguar Fever".

David was such a great character. I absolutely loved him when he was introduced in the previous book. Where his brother, Wade, was a serious guy intent on doing his job and protecting his lady love, David seemed to joke his way through the book. And that definitely kept up in this book. He was still doing his job and working well with both Tammy and the twins, he could still laugh at himself. I think Tammy balanced him out pretty well. I got a little confused in some parts, but I think it was just that I was reading a little too fast trying to see what would happen next. Hopefully, the twins will get their own books in the future cause they were just as entertaining as David. Looking forward to the next one.

The third book in the Heart of the Jaguar series is a thrilling and action packed shifter romance that leads the readers on a merry and dangerous chase through the jungles of Belize. The author has created a fantastic world of Jaguar shifters that captures the imagination. I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning and the author kept surprising me with lots of twists and turns, caused quite a few chuckles at the snarky dialogue and antics of the boys and lots of energetic and exciting entertainment.

Jaguar Hunt is the 3rd book in the HEART OF THE JAGUAR series and may have been my favorite so far. It was a highly entertaining read with lovable characters, plenty of intrigue, a nice paced plot, and a great ending. While these books are all part of the series, they stand perfectly well on their own and do not need to be read in order.
David, the slightly rakish, yet stalwart brother of the hero of book #2, is trying to track down two teenage cat shifters that the agency wants to recruit. His investigation overlaps with another - the search for a missing jaguar from the Oregon zoo that the Enforcers are trying to solve. In an attempt to solve both mysteries as quickly and efficiently as possible, there's an inter-agency pairing between David and Tammy (who just happens to be the cousin of the heroine from book #2, Maya).
Tammy is a super fun heroine. She's super independent, sassy, and highly capable. She's amazing at her job as Enforcer, and doesn't particularly like working with others. In fact, she has a history of completely ditching her assigned partners and solving the crimes herself in record time.
David is one of the best special forces agents JAG has, but he also has a very carefree side, so when David scores the partnership of a lifetime and gets to pair with the sexy and sassy Tammy in hot and romantic Belize, sparks fly and things get veeeery interesting.
I loved the mystery in Jaguar Hunt. The subterfuge, overlapping history and storylines, and the snippets from the character's pasts that made the story so much deeper and more intriguing.
One of the best things about Jaguar Hunt, outside of the entertainment, mystery, and romance, were the supporting characters. I absolutely LOVED the twins, and I cannot wait to read their own books/novellas and find out more about them as the series progresses!
I would definitely recommend Jaguar Hunt for all paranormal romance fans, especially fans of Terry Spear and the series thus far.

Jaguar-shifter David Patterson, is a Special Forces Golden Claw JAG agent. He was assigned the task of tracking two teenage shifters, later discovering they have information about another case involving a jaguar that was stolen from the zoo.
Colleague and jaguar-shifter in the Enforcer unit, Tammy Anderson, is not happy to be assigned a new partner to help her find a missing zoo cat. They wind up following the teens to Belize on what is supposed to be an easy mission.
David is a great hero. I love that he treats Tammy as an equal and does not belittle her. He is sure of himself and has a considerable personality. He’s a great guy; I felt bad that he had some crazy girlfriends in the past.
Tammy is impressive. I loved that she would ditch her partners when she felt they depreciated her. She is a strong heroin that can definitely take care of herself.
The two make a fun couple that I wouldn’t want to mess with if I was a bad guy.
I enjoyed the teens. Their pranks added humor to the story. They were definitely clever, and I can see why the JAG unit would be interested in recruiting them.
I love that this book is set in Belize. It is one of my favorite vacation spots. Ironically enough, I read this book on my anniversary. We went to Belize on our honeymoon so the timing was appropriate. I could easily visualize their hotel and the jungle scenes. One of my favorite things about the country is that it is not overdeveloped, and the rainforest is plentiful; A great place for jaguar shifters. It is a beautiful nation and the perfect setting for this novel.
Jaguar Hunt is an action pact book with a praiseworthy plot. There were a lot of mystery and excitement, and everything was written in a believable manner. I enjoyed all the characters. Terry Spear did a great job with the character development and plot. In addition, her writing style is noteworthy.

Tammy doesn’t work well with others. Well she works just fine with them as long as they are not her partner and not getting in her way. But on her latest mission Tammy has finally met her match in partners.
David is a man on a mission and nothing is going to stop him. David’s first hurdle is getting Tammy to actually work with him.
This was a great read. I loved David and Tammy. I loved the twins!! They are so sneaky and awesome. I enjoyed the mission that Tammy and David were on. It kept me guessing as to the who’s and the why’s.
This was my first book in this series. I was happy that Jaguar Hunt easily read as a stand alone book. I do plan on going back and reading the first two books in this series. I am already looking forward to who and what is next in this series.
