    More Than Just a Temptation...It's a Must!

I've loved the Sweet series, and Sweet Temptation is no exception. One of the things that I think Maya Banks does so well is create a world of friends that readers crave to know more about again and again. Readers of this series will not be disappointed as they get a glimpse into the lives of the characters they have grown to love. I think her dialogue between friends whether they be male or female is close to genius. When reading these passages it feels exactly like you could be there taking part in the fun.

That being said, I had some serious doubts about Micah as a hero about half way through the book. I questioned whether I liked Micah because of how he treated and reacted to Angel.in more than one scene. But Micah is a very complex Alpha hero. He feels guilt, rage, desire, fear, lust....and finally love. Those are a lot of emotions to have to deal with and all of these emotions translate in their sexual encounters.

At first, Angel feels that she needs to prove to Micah that she can handle all of his dark and demanding sexual needs. Their relationship is illustrated through many love scenes, some of which I initially thought were a bit excessive (even for an erotic romance), but the more I reflected on the story the more I realized that the sex scenes were a very carefully orchestrated series of escalating events that progressively intensified with Micah's growing need to prove and test not only himself, but also Angel. The more he pushes her, and the more it seemed like the sex scenes were deliberately unemotional on Micah's part, the more it showed his growing obsession and craving for her acceptance and love. He continuously tries to prove to himself that his feelings for Angel are nothing more than lust.

Angel continuously tries to demonstrate to Micah that she can take anything he can dish, and tries to reveal her love for him by being submissive and accepting of his wants, needs, and desires..including accepting that she may never have the kind of love that he had for his deceased wife. At times I wanted to shake Angel and have her realize that she was worthy of his love, not just his acceptance.to not solely focus on Micah's needs, but to discover her own worthiness of love. And in the end she does. She realizes that she is worthy of the kind of love he had for his first wife and is not satisfied to settle for a relationship where her love is not returned in full measure.

Maya Banks pulled the story together beautifully. I loved the way the book ended with an intimate scene between Angel and Micah, not of a sex scene as an expression of their love for each other. Instead it was with a heartfelt declaration that honestly showed what he was willing to do to earn the love that Angel gave so freely. It was much more meaningful, and I felt that it really showed the progression of their relationship that began with sex, but ended with words of love.

Sweet Temptation is intensely sexual, just like its hero Micah. It is also endearing because of the friendships, emotional and heartrending because of all that Angel and Micah go through, as well as suspenseful with just the right amount of danger to declare that in the end, love is triumphant. It is totally and completely engrossing. I think you will feel a wide range of emotions when reading this story, one which is definitely a sweet temptation for romance lovers. I've found that I've developed a "sweet tooth" for Maya Banks and this

    A disappiontment

I've been waiting for this book in the series to come out and as I was reading it, I alternated between bored and annoyed. In past books Micah comes across as a sweetheart with a hard shell, but in this one he just comes off as a chauvinistic idiot. The "shock and awe" writing style of this book is just irritating. There weren't any sentimental undertones that the other books in this series had. As if Micah wasn't crass enough, Angelina is just pathetic. She comes across as less star-crossed lover/soulmate and more of a stalker. And what was with that part where every character is in Angelina's hospital room? Very cheesy. I've kept the other books and re-read them, this one is already in the trashcan.

More of the Sweet Series - Micah

I was saddened that I didn't enjoy this book more than I did. I guess I was looking for more because this was about Micah, and I love me some Micah. He was so very interesting, and showed so much promise in the earlier stories; and is the pivotal character of this series. This one just misses the mark. Instead of delving into what made him such a sexually dysfunctional bad boy Dom (his past, secrets, and angst), and his healing with the right woman; it wound up being just way over the top kinky sexscapade antics wrapped in a thin, uneven storyline. The story veered from rough sex to soap opera back to rough kinky sex. I like my smex as much as the next person, but Micah deserved so much more story wise than he was given.

Banks tried waaay too hard to try to shock the reader with this one. She does a sexy 3 way, intimate & hot; but she still doesn't understand the D/s lifestyle. When the 'climactic' scene came, it appeared out of nowhere. Here, she went straight for the titillation overkill. You just turn the page, and there it is. It was like (insert gangbanger scene here). Micah wants to prove his ownership, and it was fascinating to read the BDMS and group kinky sex, but it was so clinical. The whole thing left Micah looking really sleazy, and the obviously manufactured sexual shock value just fell flat.

Micah didn't come off as the premier Dom he was portrayed to be in previous books; he was more a domineering a**hole than a Dom. Where was his character growth, his healing? It was fun to visit with all the couples and characters we've met in the other stories; that's something we've come to expect. The sex was steamy, but I was unhappy with all the wasted opportunities to tell a better story. The quality of her books is still hit and miss, and her growing obsession with group sex in her books is getting tiresome. (and more Colter's on the way). I still love Micah and I'm glad he got his HEA, he just didn't get a story that does him justice.

Micah's Undoubtedly the Official "Dr. Feelgood!"

WARNING: IF BDSM, SCHORCHINGLY HOT EXPLICIT SEX, COMMITTED MENAGES AREN'T YOUR THING, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SERIES! TRY A TAMED AUTHOR INSTEAD!

Micah's a tortured soul, with a devastated, heart-wrenching past, who finds contentment and solitude in the arms of a diversified amount of women. He irrevocably enjoys pleasing a women's need before staking claim to their body with his primal need. Full and utter submission via BDSM, is what he desires most. He's the SUPREME "ENERGIZER BUNNY," a TRUE alpha-male with an enormous protective nature for most of the women he has been with or for that matter, women in general. And above ALL a man with a HEART OF GOLD!

Angelina is a blast from Micah's past, a past he prefers to keep well hidden from the rest of the world of ever discovering. She's the little of sister, of his best friend, Dave, who passed away. And now she's come to play with the "BIG BAD WOLF," from her long-awaited fantasies. However will Angelina hop on the ONLY ride Micah's willing to offer her? Or will she be seduced by the world he resides in?

Thank You Ms. Banks for a glimpse into the WILD & WICKED WORLD YOU CREATE, IT'S TRULY CATASTROPHICALLY BREATH-TAKING!! WELL DONE THIS NOVEL DESERVES BEYOND A 10 STAR RATING!!

    **********************************************************

***The 2nd part of my review is PRIMARILY TARGETED to those readers who gave such poor reviews, and are constantly complaining about this novel. Never giving the appropriate STARS it so righteously deserves!***

If you haven't read the 3 previous novels within the "Sweet Series," I can somewhat understand your beef. Paying for a book you don't understand or enjoy the subject matter, can be extremely disappointing & frustrating. However if you did read the 3 previous ones, you should have been forewarned regarding the walloped of a punch from Micah's INSATIABLE Story. What in the world did you expect? The other novels were risqué and pretty damn, sexually intense.

You're reading Romantica aka Erotic Romance Novels, HOT explicit sex, graphic language, some violence, a COMMITTED Ménage a trois/quatre, etc., if you're lucky >;o)~~~~~ , and some back-door lovin', is PRETTY MUCH A GIVEN!

It wasn't like you were reading a 300 - 700 page Historical Romance Novel, knowing full-well the hero/heroine doesn't fall madly in love with each other until half-way through or NOT even until the very end of the book. With its GRADUAL process of word-fencing and an EXUBERANT amount of COMPRESSED SEXUAL TENSION before they ever have "WILDLY HOT MONKEY SEX!"

I'm sure there will be plenty of readers who will NOT agree with me, for you all, YOU CAN KISS MY ROYAL DERRIERE!! For those selected few that do agree, 'FIST PUMP UP IN THE AIR,' ALRIGHT SISTA/BROTHER!!
    SORRY BUT I'M A 100% HOT-BLOODED ITALIAN & a LEO, an extremely DANGEROUS combination, we find immense pleasure expressing ourselves with HAND JESTURES! {{LOL}}

    Micah is HOT!

I started reading Maya Banks with Sweet Surrender and since then have "impatiently" waiting for each character's story. This book is about Micah and Angelina. His past is finally revealed and what a shocking past it is. Angelina is the perfect companian to Micah in all ways. I couldn't help but feel for both Angelina and Micah. She wants to be part of his life and He is afraid to let her into his life. Thankfully he has friends who only want what is best for him and that is Angelina. She is very independent and strong but loves Micah so much that she has waited patiently for him to finally feel free from his past enough to be ready to welcome her into his new life. This book also has a stalker who is after Angelina and Micah must decide what he wants and hold onto it. I love that you get to read a little more about Faith and Gray, Serena and Damen, and Julie and Nathan. I am now waiting "impatiently" for Connor's story. I recommend you read the whole series starting with Faith and Gray's story, Sweet Surrender to Sweet Persuasion to Sweet Seduction.

    A winner

Years after the accidental deaths of his wife Hannah and best friend David, Micah remains a dysfunctional soul avoiding relationships as he hides out in the open in Houston. David's younger sister Angelina misses Micah whom she has loved forever and decides after time at a Miami bondage club to visit him and seduce him so she leaves for Houston. He has doubts but cannot resist the siren of a young woman he used to consider his kid sister.

Angelina begins to learn her beloved's darkest sexual desires. She uses them to make him want her like she does him. As their need for one another grows into deeper mutual attraction, Micah realizes someone is stalking Angelina; he refuses to allow a third person he loves to be hurt.

The latest "sweet" erotic romance (see Sweet Persuasion and Sweet Seduction) is an enjoyable tale of second chance at life. Until Angelina arrives, Micah is a ghost of what he was when he lost the other two thirds of his ménage a trois. Angelina brings him back to life with her torrid seduction. Readers will enjoy her efforts to sexually prove she is not kid sister as she learns his hidden BDSM desires and brings both his heads alive.

    Very Unhappy!

I am a huge fan of Maya Banks' erotic books. But this was a major disappointment to me. Micah was an absolute ass and I can't understand why they would end up together in the end after everything he put her through. The book was also either unedited, or very poorly edited. Many different times I read the same few sentences and could not understand anything.
Again, very disappointed. Don't buy the Nook for this one.

    ZERO STARS

I was looking forward to Micah's story, but ended up hating his character and this book, absolutely no redeeming qualities. Readers should be warned that this is NOT a romance, it's a graphic gang bang.
You don't buy these books without expecting hot scenes, but the summary for this one was really misleading. Went way too far over the line. I kept hoping the psycho stalker would somehow actually turn into the hero and save her.

The first book I read by Maya Banks is ¿Rush.¿ Rush is the firs

The first book I read by Maya Banks is “Rush.” Rush is the first book of her new breathless trilogy. I liked the book a lot and became a fan of Maya Banks. So, while I’m waiting for the second book of the breathless trilogy to be released in April 2013, I decided to check out her sweet series.
I just finished reading Sweet Temptation and I am very disappointed. I understand that Micah has deep seated issues, but he is truly a selfish coldhearted bastard. The way he treated Angelina was cruel and unnecessary. Just because he wanted to prove to Angelina and to himself that he would never love her, he callously arranged for a group of men to viciously work Angelina over. The scene was disgusting and went on and on. Even worse, Angelina obliged as a way to prove to Micah how much she loved him and could keep up with his desires. She also enjoyed being used by the men because it supposedly made her feel powerful. Micah went a little further by inviting one of the men to come back another time, where the two of them proceeded to debase her further.
In the end, I think it is unrealistic for Micah to realize he loves Angelina. There is no way he would have been able to tolerate seeing her with the other men if he truly had any kind of feelings for her. The things they did to her were just too much. If anything, Micah should have been turned off by the way Angelina let him run over her. Also, Angelina should have never allowed herself to be so THOROUGHLY used. Angelina’s character was weak and stupid because she did unspeakable things for the love of a man, instead of loving herself. I’m not judging, but only people who live this type of life style would love this book. I’ve already thrown this book in the trash. However, I would recommend Sweet Possession and Sweet Persuasion because the main characters have a little more class.

Good as Part of the Sweet Series

While the Sweet series as a whole is engaging, Sweet Temptation was average. I do recommend the book if you read the rest of the series, but be sure to read the rest of the series first. Sweet Surrender, Sweet Persuasion, and Sweet Seduction is the correct order in which to read the novels. I felt the main characters were underdeveloped. I would have liked more on Micah's background. He does exhibit complex emotions. There was no real explanation as to why he treated Angel so harshly. He was selfish on many levels in this relationship until the very end of the book. The sex scenes were a little rough to read, even though I have read the rest of Banks' Sweet series.

    Not tempting....

Sorry... I did't care for this book. I found it too predictable, from the plot to the characters. Maybe that's to be expected of a book of this nature, but I don't think so.
