FROM NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE BREATHLESS TRILOGY MAYA BANKS

First Book in the Sweet Series by Maya Banks, and it “might just singe your fingertips off.”—New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh

Under Faith Malone’s soft exterior lies a woman who knows what she wants: A man who’ll take without asking—because she’s willing to give him everything…

Dallas cop Gray Montgomery wants only to find guy who killed his partner and bring him to justice. What he’s found so far a link between the killer and Faith—and if Gray has to get close to her to catch his man, all the better. She’s everything Gray desires in a woman, but he suspects she’s playing games. No way would she allow a man to call the shots in their relationship. Or would she?

Faith sees in Gray the strong, dominant man she needs, but he seems determined to keep her at a distance. So she takes matters into her own hands to prove to him it’s no game she’s playing. She’s willing to surrender to the right man. Gray would like to be that man. But catching his partner’s killer has to be his first priority. Until Faith is threatened and Gray realizes he will do anything to protect her…

    She needed a strong man

Faith has always been missing that strong take charge man in her life. Something has been missing with all the relationships she has had before. However, when Gray (a cop on leave) starts working at her family's security company there are definant sparks and Faith tries to persue it. But Gray is only there to keep an eye on Faith because her mother is in a relationship with the man that killed Gray's partner. The killer has never been caught and Gray is trying to rectify that, without letting anyone know why he is there. Even though Faith is trying to get Gray's attention because she knows he is attracted to her he is having none of Faith. Until one night he finds Faith at the local BDSM club naked and strapped to a whipping stand. She is receiving some light spanking from a BDSM club's member and she is not feeling satisified in her search for the ultimate domination. Then Gray decides to step in and prove a point to her with a real paddleing. But things go totally astray when Faith not only enjoys the whipping but sets his body on fire.

I totally loved this story. It has the action, sex, domination.

    It was pretty good...

I have read a number of erotic romance novels, and while this one is good, its not necessary about 'surrender' like the title says. Its somewhat entertaining and some of the sex scenes are hot... I just got irritated with the constant back and forth of the two main characters in this book. Normally I like the back and forth because it makes it all that much better when the two (or three) people get together, but in this case it slightly irritated me. It was a little 'meh' for me.

    Boring

I was recommended this book after reading 50 Shades and was terribly disappointed by the lack of romance and sex.

    What?!!!

Come on n give me a break. Please. The end of the story is good but u cant just have it drop off a cliff. There is still so much that needs to be said n it stops. The whole story was intriguing n suspenseful n then splat. It ends without an end. All u needed was about 5 more pages or so to give an end to a brilliant story. I was more than happy to pay for the book while I was in the middle of the story. But now that I finished, i'm not sure it was worth so much. The story was great but the ending was not complete. If I were to buy the next one, it better have a finishing touch. I have read other works by this author and I must say that I'm disappointed with this one. I haven't had any complaints about her writing. But I will think twice before buying another book of hers; which I feel sad to say.

    Skip This One!!!!!

Loved 50 Shades. I gave this one star only because there wasn't a lower rating. Boring. Not well written at all. If it did not contain graphic sex, I would have thought it was written by a teen-ager.

    Sweetly Enticed 4 1/2 Stars!!

I appreciated the tight knit characters that are all involved within this storyline.

Especially the initial spark between Gray & Faith, was greater than either realized, it literally took them both for a lope. Their connection was rock-solid, then edgy, finally mind-blowing orgasmic (between the major kink & BDSM involved).

However, the story began to fizzle. Gray & Faith's relationship had too much of the back & forth, not knowing what either of them truly wanted. I completely understand the reasons Gray wanted to keep Faith at a distance, but there were plenty of scenes that could have been left out, it started to drag.

Unfortunately it got to the point, that I really didn't wish to continue. Even though the lovemaking scenes were a total mind-f**k. And the brazen act between Gray, Faith, & someone who will not be mentioned (sorry I'm not going to spoil the surprise) was unbelievably, and catastrophically delicious.

Ultimately, I'm willing to give the rest of this series and Ms. Banks another chance. She won't be the first, and definitely not the last author that has received "mixed" reviews on some of her other collaborations. For this novel, Ms. Banks I'm sorry I have to give it 4 1/2 Stars!!

    heated investigative romantic suspense

Mick Winslow and Grayson Montgomery share in common Alex and police work although the former is retired and the latter is on sick leave. Mick was his father while Gray was his partner on the Dallas PD. Both grieve his death and want his killer caught, but the department has failed as they hold the late Alex culpable for ¿blatant disregard of duty¿. The older man provides Gray with a name, Eric Samuels. Gray takes six months leave and travels to Houston where Faith Malone is the only lead to Eric as her mother vanished with the cop killer just after he squeezed the trigger. --- Faith dreams of her sexual fantasies being fulfilled by a loving dominant hunk. When she meets Gray she thinks he might be perfect for her SWEET SURRENDER. As they fall in love, she knows he is hiding something from her Gray has not lost sight of his quest to catch his partner¿s killer. --- This heated investigative romantic suspense is a terrific tale because of the Dallas cop who knows he is in love when he realizes his submissive SWEET SURRENDER is in peril. Faith and Gray are a wonderful pairing with some light bondage in the boudoir and plenty of love outside of it. Fans will feel Mick¿s tormented frustration that enhances an intense transfixing thriller. --- Harriet Klausner

    4 pages for a sample?

I bought the $13 book anyway but you should read consider providing us with more than 4 pages for the sample. That does not give us a taste of your writing style or the story line. It may be B&N's decision so I'll make sure I review the actual book too. Came across your series after getting hooked on Fifty Shades of Grey.

    I'll Surrender...

After reading the KGI series by Maya Banks, I knew that I simply had to get my hands on everything written by her. I was not disappointed with the introduction and 1st entry to the Sweet series. Maya has a way of writing a very heartfelt love story with just the right amount of erotica in it. Often times when reading erotica you feel like the story is only about the sex with just a couple of obligatory plot lines mixed in. Sweet Surrender, IMHO, was definitely not in that category! Gray & Faith were too very strong characters that I rooted for the entire book. Even though the plot arc was pretty predictable, I still loved the story & loved that Gray & Faith both knew what they wanted and weren't scared to make it known or to settle for less. Can't wait for the next one!

    GREAT BOOK!!

I love this book, the love story is great but it has a lot of action tied in so it keeps you turning pages. The sex is great and new, it does not just keep repeating the same scenes. Every time is new and different from the last. I will for sure reread this book and I have already bought the next book in the series. You will love all the characters and want to know how they find their love.

    Very sweet.

What I liked most about this one was the seduction and the eroticism didn't get too out of hand or over the top. It was a good, solid read that was romantic and also hot.
