What People Are Saying

From the Publisher
"Kitty and Jeff Martini and their ever-expanding gang of humans and aliens return for another highly entertaining dose of dangerous and wildly offbeat adventures. Koch continues to be the go-to author for anyone wanting madcap futuristic adventure heavily laced with deadly danger and laugh-out-loud fun."—RT Book Reviews

"The variously dark and cheerful seventh installment of Koch’s Alien series is a crowd-pleaser…. The best hallmarks of the series—frequent banter, head-first dives into action, tangled webs, and Kitty’s snark—are in full force again.”—Publisher’s Weekly

"Rollicking, sexy fun—science fiction hasn't been this much of a  blast since ... well, never.  Grab on with both hands and enjoy the wild, lusty ride."—Robert J Sawyer

"This delightful romp has many interesting twists and turns as it glances at racism, politics, and religion en route. It will have fanciers of cinematic sf parodies referencing Men in Black, Ghost Busters, and X-Men. Meanwhile, readers who like the smart sf silliness of Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy novels, Lois McMaster Bujold’s Vorkosigan Saga, Pat Murphy’s There and Back Again, and A. Lee Martinez’s The Automatic Detective will find it distinctively different, for Koch’s humor is more in the vein of MaryJanice Davidson in her Undead series, but darned amusing, all the same."—Booklist

"It's one hot, fast-paced, crazy romp, with plenty of humorous banter to go with the blood spatter and discussions of wedding dresses."—Locus

Meet the Author

Gini Koch lives in the American Southwest, works her butt off (sadly, not literally) by day, and writes by night with the rest of the beautiful people. Touched by an Alien, the first in her Alien/Katherine “Kitty” Katt Series, received a starred review from Booklist and was named one of Booklist’s Top Ten adult science fiction and fantasy novels of 2010. Alien Tango released December 7, 2010, with Alien in the Family releasing April 5, 2011, and Alien Proliferation in Winter 2011. Gini started writing as an excuse to stay up late playing on the computer while listening to rock music and mooning over pictures of hunky men. She's thrilled all that drooling has finally paid off. She can be found at ginikoch.com.

ALIEN COLLECTIVE, book nine in the Katherine “Kitty” Katt has the same hijinks and action as the rest of the series, but I also think Gini Koch kicks it up a notch. There is so much going on that I definitely recommend reading the series in order. Much of the politics and the world involve a long-standing thread that Koch has been building and building over several books.

Jeff Martini and Kitty are up against a lot this time, with an anti-alien ticket threatening to take over and also a gossip columnist called the Tastemaker. As you can tell, a lot of the book revolves around the political side of the series. This is what Koch really focuses on, creating trouble in all aspects of Jeff and Kitty’s life. While this can bog down the story at times, Koch still manages to breathe life into Kitty’s character with her one of a kind POV.

Kitty has always been such a fabulous heorine. But sometimes I would like to see more of a focus on her character. Outside forces are always influencing her actions. It would be nice to see something more personal occur to Kitty that will display more of her layers, apart from how she is when dealing with the political side of the series.

As the lighter side of science fiction, the Katherine “Kitty” Katt series has a lot to offer to readers. With a highly detailed and unique world and stunning character depictions, Gini Koch rises as one of my favorites in the genre. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself enjoying yourself all the way through this book!

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 REVIEW:   I am always amazed about the amoun

    NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
    REVIEW:
I am always amazed about the amount of stuff going on in Ms. Koch’s books.  It is kind of like looking through a stain glass window.  You can kind of see what is outside, yet you are looking through many panels of glass and each is showing you a different image.   The question should be is what you are seeing real?  Or is your image distorted?

That all being said.  In Alien Collective we find Kitty, Jeff, little Jamie-Kat and the whole A-C crew with their back against the wall again.  This time it seems to be Jeff who is in the crosshairs.  But the questions really is who is the real enemy and who can the A-C’s really trust? As always Kitty kicks some major.  But it never hurts to have a little help from your friends.  Thank goodness Kitty has some amazing friends.

If you have not started this series I believe you have to read this series in order  There is so much that has happened to date that you would be a little lost.  If you are a fan of Kitty’s series I think that you will enjoy Alien Collective.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series even if reading the blurb gives me a cause of anxiety.  I will have to trust that the keeper of words knows what she is doing.
