Tempting my beast

Lora Leigh is a master of romance. Her romances are emotional, moving and very sincere as well as being hotter than a blazing inferno.
Her characters are unforgettable and always striving for more and better in their worlds.
Callan Lyons is a Feline Breed; a genetically altered human whose DNA was grafted with that of a lion. Along with the other Feline Breeds with whom he escaped from the Labs of the Genetics Council, he is doing what he can to protect the few remaining members of the Pride. He is willing to risk everything to keep them safe; physically, mentally and emotionally.
Merinus Tyler is determined to meet with Lyons so that, through her father's newspaper, the Breeds are able to come forth and receive society's protection.
Neither one is prepared for the immediate, and extreme, attraction that takes control, but now that this connection has been forged there are no other options; especially with the Genetics Council determined to eradicate the Breeds and anyone that gets in their way.
You won't soon forget Callan, Merinus or any of the others that populate Lora Leigh's outstanding first Breeds story. If you haven't read FELINE BREEDS 1: TEMPTING THE BEAST and are not averse to scorching romance, then I strongly suggest you give it a try. Both, highly recommended reads.

    Tempting but irresistible!

First book in the series and it starts out with an absolute bang! It was somewhat racy, but never gory, which I don't like. This paranormal erotic novel is probably one of the best I've read. Would like to read more in the series, definitely.

Excellent Beginning to a great story...

A very imaginative plot. This book was recommended by a coworker and now I'm hooked! I read the book in one day. I'm a sucker for good romances with a paranormal twist, so this book hit the right spot! I can't wait to read more of the series and Lora Leigh's other works.

The first book of the series

This book, being the first of the series, was very captivating once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. The thrill of learning about the geneticly altered humans was a thrill ride in itself. The romance was so intense it held me on the edge of my seat being the first book n the seris I was so excited to find out what happened next I have been ordering the whole seris. Lora Leigh has become my favorite author of all times just from one book I picked up by mistake I am hooked and now I am shareing them with my friends and now they are hooked too.

    Captivating Concept

Lora Leigh has created a captivating world within our own. Merinus Taylor is a reporter in search of an unbelievable story. It is a story of genetically enhanced warriors who have escaped from their creators. What she discovers is even more wild than her wildest imagination. She concentrates her focus on Callan Lyons, a man she is sexually drawn to like no other man she has every met. This world of breeds has many twists and turns and leaves the reader wanting to know more. The breeds love as deeply as they hate and the sexual eroticism of this book is not to be missed. A wonderful book to begin the breed feline series.

    Sill Tempting!

Callan, a genetic creation of human and animal DNA, and his family are living on the run from the Council, a group of billionaires, dirty politicians, high ranking military personnel and others, who secretly created "breeds" to enforce their will and to use as an army of killers. Merinus, a reporter, has found out about Callan, and convinces her father and many brothers to allow her to seek Callan out and confirm the story. Merinus does not count on the 'mating frenzy,' a drug like hormone that Callan produces that leaves her in physical agony if she does not mate with him. This is an adult story with very graphic depictions of intercourse. I am reading this series again with my book club. It remains one of my favorite series and the actual storyline picks up quite a bit in later books. For me, this series is still tempting! It is sill enjoyable the second time around.

I can not contiune with this series

I first started with "magans mark" , me not knowing the series yet. Then I purchesed the first one. I finished the book, but I will not contiune with the series. Lora Leigh's writing is graphic for my taste. I was rolling my eyes during this book in places. Not good enough for me for the money.

    Something Different

A new twist. This book was recommend by a friend. I was not disapointed. WOW!! This is the story of Callan a man who was gentically altered at birth by govnerment scientist using animal DNA. Callan is a feline breed on the run from the scientists that created him. Merinus is a reporter hell bent on meeting Callan and learning the truth. When Merinus meets Callan she is instantly attracted to him. Callan tries to push her away but Mother Nature has other ideas. Great plot and sexual tension. This book kept me hooked from the first page to the last. I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for something different to read this is the book. I can not wait for the other stories in Ms. Leighs Breed books.

This is a good book that starts a wonderful series. It helps in the building of her Breeds series that are now best selling paperbacks.

    Callan & Merinus...

WOW.. what more can I say.. oh yeah.. how about, fantastic, unbelievable, bizarre.. well you get the picture. I didn't feel like this at first about this book. I'm a vamp girl who's trying to break into the shifter type of books, it's dragging me kicking and screaming. But I'm really starting to come around, but the more I read, the more it sucked me into the story. I was a little put off at first with some of the language.. wait, before you roll your eyes, and wonder why PNR is my favorite genre, hear me out. I'm no prude, (very) far from it, and I have no problem with cursing, and sexually explicit descriptive words, but I felt this author used words that were only there for shock value, and weren't really in the context of the story. I just felt like, in some places she really didn't need to be so "rough". Please keep in mind this is just my opinion. That said, I got over it, and *WHEW* I'm so glad I did. I now understand now why this book (series) is so popular. At times I felt like I should have been hiding under the covers reading this book covertly.. it was THAT sexy! The mind-blowing sex was described down to a tee. The story left me confident that I could move on with this series and get to know many of the characters... intimately! This book is HOT, HOT, HOT! And be warned, it contains extremely sexual situations and extremely explicit language which some readers may find offensive. Now, where's book 2?!

    the Breeds

for those even slightly interested in hot love scenes, alpha males, the overwhleming love of one individual for another, tons of action, depth, and yes, even the love of family then i recommend you read this book. this book is the first in the Breed series that numbers over 20 books and i've read and LOVE them all so far. once reading this and falling in love with Callan and his pride make sure you find the correct order to read the books in by going to lora leighs website. all the books relate so wolf breed book one is actually breed book 11 or something. anyhow THIS BOOK AND SERIES IS GREAT!! READ IT!!!

    One word...

....AWFUL! This was one of the worst books I've ever encountered. The plot is ridiculous, as is the "mating frenzy" that the protagonists must endure, the author shows a complete lack of imagination with her use of a certain word over & over & over again, & did I say this book was AWFUL? I enjoy very graphic & erotic scences, but these were just terrible. I might as well have taken a $10 bill and flushed it down the toilet. It would have been a better use of my money than spending it on this book.

    Hot

Lots of explicit sex, so decide before you buy what you are comfortablle with in that regard. Otherwise, good characters and plot. Planning to read more because i want to see what happens to some of the secondary characters as well as the primary ones.

I¿ve read this series before and remember liking it, but could¿n

I’ve read this series before and remember liking it, but could’n exactly explain the story or plots, so decided to try again and gave it another chance with the audio version. This was not the best audio for me, I think there was too much sex to listen and it didn’t help, but I loved the book. Just discovered that erotica and audio don’t mix right in my brain. There’s always other books for that.

The couple was okay, but I liked Merinus better. Still don’t know where her name came from, but she’s strong and very firm. I liked the way she handled things and never gave up. Callam was the best alpha male, he had a hard time understand the mating and saving everyone at the same time. But he’s very possessive. And I loved the ending. There’s not much of the back story, but we can understand that some humans decided to mix DNA of animals with some human DNA. Callam and the rest of the Pride are these different shifters.
