Overview

A sizzling story of everyone’s favorite couple from amazing Stephanie Evanovich’s New York Times bestseller Big Girl Panties: hunky professional baseball player Chase Walker and his sassy wife Amanda.

When pro baseball player Chase Walker first meets Amanda at her restaurant, it’s love at first sight. While Amanda can’t help noticing the superstar with the Greek-god-build, he doesn’t have a chance of getting to first—or any other—base with her. A successful entrepreneur who’s built her business from scratch, Amanda doesn’t need a Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet. And a curvy girl who likes to cook and eat isn’t interested in being around the catty, stick-thin herd of females chasing Chase and his teammates.

But Chase isn’t about to strike out. A man who isn’t interested in playing the field, he’s a monogamist who wants an independent woman like Amanda. His hopes rally when she discovers that squeaky-clean Chase has a few sexy and very secret pre-game rituals that turn the smart, headstrong businesswoman on—and into his number one fan.

Then a tabloid discovers the truth and turns their spanking good fun into a late- night punchline. Is Amanda ready to let loose and swing for the fences? Or will the pressure of Chase’s stardom force them to call it quits?

It's easy to fall in love with this flirty, swoon-worthy tale of the vivacious couple readers first met in 2013's Big Girl Panties. One witty exchange is all it takes to have pro baseball player Chase Walker head over heels for super-hot restaurant owner Amanda Cole. Amanda fights her attraction to Chase until she runs out of excuses, but she still wonders whether he has a hidden flaw. After a lively jousting session turns to verbal foreplay and then to a madly erotic spanking lovemaking all-nighter, the two swoon through a series of heartfelt discussions and tantalizing erotic escapades. Then a video of their private romps goes viral, and the ensuing scandal could tear them apart. Evanovich entertains with plentiful humor and appeals to the reader's romantic side. Comedy, passion, and an irresistible couple make for a home run read. (July)

Evanovich returns with a novel that nicely echoes her debut, Big Girl Panties, which made the New York Times extended best sellers list. Pro baseball player Chase Walker falls instantly for Amanda when he spots her in a restaurant, but she's an independent-minded entrepreneur uninterested in competing with the skinny groupies surrounding Chase. With a 150,000-copy first printing and a five-city tour to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia.

A restaurant owner falls for a baseball hunk with asurprising secret in this breezy romance from Evanovich (Big Girl Panties,2013).Amanda Cole is doing just fine on her own,so she barely blinks when sports stud Chase Walker strolls into her restaurant. She's notinterested in being a baseball girlfriend, but Chase has other ideas. He's willingto show up at her restaurant every day until Amanda agrees to give him a chance—andonce she does, she falls hard. Chase is sweet, successful and pretty muchperfect—but his out-of-the-box sexual preferences come as a surprise. Whentheir private life suddenly becomes very public, the ensuing press kerfufflemakes Amanda rethink their entire relationship. Can she accept Chase for who heis, in and out of the bedroom? The answer most likely won't surprise you, butthat's no problem. Fans of Evanovich's debut, where these characters firstappear, know the two end up together anyway. The fun comes from their journeyto the altar, and there's plenty of conflict (and more than one blush-worthysex scene) along the way. Chase's domineering personality and preferences can sometimes make him seem more like a growling alpha male than a sexy romantic hero, but for the most part, he comes off as a loving partner. Meanwhile, Amanda's sassy retorts, her frequently mentioned curvy figure and her believable concerns make her an appealing heroine. A sports-filled romance full of steamy sex scenes that will please Evanovich'sfans.

“Evanovich’s breezy style, witty dialogue, and likable characters make this a great summer read. Her fans will be thrilled she’s given Chase and Amanda, who appeared as a married couple in Big Girl Panties, their own book.”
Women's Health.com
“Rom-com with a kinky twist . . . Readers of Big Girl Panties will remember the couple and will love delving into their story.”

I'm a huge baseball fan, so the character of All-American baseba

I'm a huge baseball fan, so the character of All-American baseball hero Chase Walker as our protagonist made me so happy. Sportscasters called him "one of those naturally gifted corn-fed boys out of Iowa", and in addition to being a baseball superstar, Walker is good guy, raised well by his parents.

I love this quote from his dad, told to Chase when he was a college standout: "Son, no matter where your talent takes you, you're going to be a man a lot longer than you're going to be a ball player. Knowledge is the only true power. Learn all you can."
Walker became a star for the New York Kings (standing in for the powerhouse Yankees). He dated a lot of women, but the night he had dinner at Cold Creek Grille, owned and operated by Amanda Cole, he became smitten at first sight.
Amanda was raised well by her parents too- Dad is a retired Family Court judge and Mom is the District Attorney of Essex County. They instilled in their daughter the importance of being "shrewd, smart and strong." She poured her heart, soul and everything else into her restaurant.
Amanda knew of Chase's reputation with the ladies and studiously avoided his attempts to date her. She didn't want to be a notch on his belt. But Chase was persistent; he came to Cold Creek Grille after every home game, and sat at the bar, kindly signing autographs and taking photos with fans.
All of Amanda's employees told her she was crazy not to give in and date Chase, he was obviously crazy about her. But maybe he just liked the fact that she was hard to get?
Eventually she gives in, and their relationship blossoms. Slowly she begins to trust Chase. Evanovich really nails the feelings of a burgeoning romance. The careful doling out of trust, the butterflies, as well as the misunderstandings that occur because you don't know each well enough yet; it's all there and brings it all back to any reader lucky enough to have experienced it for herself.
Chase seems to be almost the perfect guy, but he has one little secret. He likes spanking as part of his sexual play. Readers of Big Girl Panties will remember that there was an allusion to an incident regarding this, and we get the background on the whole thing in The Sweet Spot.
The Sweet Spot stands on its own, but if you've read Big Girl Panties, you won't want to miss this one. For the millions of women who read the Fifty Shades trilogy, this is a much sweeter and sexier adult relationship and, quite frankly, much better written.
I adored The Sweet Spot, even more than Big Girl Panties. Maybe it's because it has baseball in it, maybe it's because the two characters are strong, mature, successful people who make their mistakes and learn from them, maybe it's because it is just darn sexy, but for me this is the beach read of the summer. Toss it in your beach bag and be ready to jump in the water to cool off after all the steamy scenes.

    Very disappointed.

Didn't even get half way and a cute romance beginning turned into a justification and tutorial on Mild S&M relationships with no other plot. Her first novel was fantastic. Too bad she just didn't write a non-fiction novel on S & M culture.

Nothing about the cover photo or jacket description leads one to believe that this book is about a sexual fetish, let alone one that could involve a safe word. That was a jarring realization a few pages in since I have not read the author's previous book.. I did not care for the way Amanda was introduced to his fetish. It bordered on abuse IMO.
The writing style is light and breezy despite the subject matter.  I was also frustrated that the narrative POV switched back and forth at times with no notice. Made the story difficult to follow and I had to reread several times.

I really wanted to like it

I loved this authors first book so I was excited to read this one but I just didn't like it. I didnt really like either character and the story line was boring. The male character was too cocky and the female was too wimpy for my liking. I just found myself trying to get through it since I paid $12 for it. Hopefully her next will be better but I'll wait for it to go on sale.

Amanda has made her business a success and she is proud of what

Amanda has made her business a success and she is proud of what she has done. She did it on her own. She is not one to be turned by a pretty head or believe what men tell her. She has figured out all men have a flaw that only shows when your in deep. When Chase a professional baseball player walks in she notice him but she won't let it go any further. She figures with a guy like him he is bound to have huge flaws. Chase knows at once when he sees Amanda and sees how spunky she is he has to get to know her better. He slowly wears her down and makes her see he isn't out to hurt her. They begin to date and Amanda soon sees his spanking is something she is enjoys as much as he does. Their bedroom fun is brought to the public light and Amanda thinks it is more than she can take. She runs and only sees when it's to late what she had.

Amanda is not one to rush into thins. She may run away but she doesn't run into any relationship. She thinks she has to figure everything out first. Wen she realizes she has a naughty side she thinks there is something wrong with her. She is very spunky and I liked her a lot. Chase I liked from the start. he is persistent, sexy, caring and very naughty as well. I kept thinking at times if she doesn't want him I do.

I read and enjoyed the first book in this series. I was eager to hear Amanda and Chase's story. I knew parts of it from the first one but getting to rad about them falling in love was a great joy. They have their problems and it makes them more real. I like how Amanda is always trying to upset Chase so he will do what she likes without asking him to. She doesn't realize how much she means to him. He does so much to show her and she doesn't listen most of the time and worries a lot. I hated how she did run from him and wouldn't stand by hs side but I understand why she did. If you like your characters a little off the normal path give these two a ty. It is full of laughs and steamy moments.

A summer must read! I read Big Girl Panties and loved it. In it we were introduced to Amanda and Cole, but never really understood their relationship. The Sweet Spot allows us to follow their relationship as it formed from their very first meeting. We already knew they shared a fetish, but had no idea how it had developed between them. If the topic of a fetish makes you uncomfortable, this might not be the book for you. However, Evanovich is such a talented writer that it seems to naturally unfold as the integral part of the story. This book is both sweet and sexy in this slightly unconventional love story.

If you are looking for the perfect summer beach read, this is it.

Thank you to the publisher for providing a complementary copy in exchange for my honest review.

(I received this book for free from William Morrow but review us

(I received this book for free from William Morrow but review us unbiased)I happened to read this book before I read Big Girl Panties and while I found Amanda to be a petulant brat in Big Girl Panties, I liked her character more in this book. At times I did find Chase and Amanda to be mildly annoying but more often than not, cheesily cute (is that a word?). When I realized that a dominance fetish played a recurring role in this book (again, I read this before BGP) I thought "oh no, no more" (I'm over the whole Fifty Shades/Crossfire business). Chase Walker is nothing like Christian Grey though - maybe a little more closely compared to Gideon Cross, but he seems like a wholesome All-American Boy with the exception of his "secret". And Amanda Cole is nothing like Anastasia or Eva personality-wise but definitely a bit bratty. I liked how the book spanned over the course of a year, and not several weeks like some of the other books similar in nature. While the outcome was somewhat predictable, I liked that the story took precedence over the underlying sexual theme for the better part of the book (which was omnipresent but didn't swallow the story until the "crisis") because it allowed the characters to be developed more so than in other stories of similar context. All-in-all this book was a cute, quick read and I even found myself laughing in the first couple of pages.
