I loved every word of How to Marry a Cowboy! I laughed until tears streamed down my face at the antics of the twins. They’re everything a child should be – excepting the foul language ;) – and I adored them! I even fell for both Annie Rose and Mason. Neither was perfect, but they were both honest and adorable.

You won’t be able to put this down!

Love it!!!

Carolyn has done it again. What a great book! I laughed until I cried exspecially the whole ear piercing incident. Carolyn's book always make me feel such joy.

This is a book that brings you two sweet bad mouthed little nine years old girls that think that their daddy gave them the ultimate gift of a new mommy for their birthday. Of course this new mama is Annie Rose and she is on the run from the past and is hoping to find a few days solace from running. Mason who is their dad is skeptic but that's totally understandable seeing that his girls found her on the front porch swing in a tattered wedding dress. It's a truly cute story

This had the potential to be a great book. I loved the twins (although from the way they acted, especially in the beginning and the "Mama-Nanny" thing, I thought they were 6, not 9) and the way Mason and Annie got together. The "How to" books that the twins (and ultimately Mason) put together were great.




What really disappointed me was (what I thought was) the main plotline. Annie shows up in town fleeing (essentially) a member of the Louisiana mob (their terms, not mine) and yet that plotline completely fizzles out at the 40% mark. I kept expecting to learn that a particular event had just been smoke and mirrors and the mob member would reemerge, but no. The event was the end of the line and I found the book a bit boring without that danger hanging over them.




What a pity.

Carolyn Brown finishes her Cowboys and Brides series with a sweet romance. Annie Rose Boudreau wakes up sitting on a swing in a ragged wedding dress being scrutinized by two little twin girls. The twins, Lily and Gabby Harper, are convinced that their father has married Annie Rose as a birthday present for them. Mason Harper is a little more suspicious but allows Annie Rose to become the girls nanny after he gets her checked out. 




This is a lovely romance intertwined with the funniest dialog between two little girls that I have ever read. Annie Rose and Mason have to think fast to stay ahead of these two little devils and fall in love at the same time. The opening sequence may make you think, another runaway bride story, but that turns out not to be quite true. There are times in the story when you think that a romance cliche is dead ahead but it never comes to pass. There is always a twist in the story that keeps you interested and not frustrated.




I'm going to miss this series but it looks as though Ms. Brown has lots of great new things coming that should keep her readers busy and happy.

author says this is the last in this series. i am so sorry about that! it's been a wonderful reading adventure among theose that meet and fall in love, and who doesn't love a cowboy?? this story involves a widowed rancher, and his two hellion daughters, and a woman running away that lands on is porch swing in a muddied wedding dress. the daughters adopt her as their" momma-nanny. the story is funny, happy, and very heart-warming as these four people make a family eventually.

But somehow, not matter how much I adored those little girls and thought the hero was great, this book didn't work for me.
 
There was a lot of talking in their heads by the leads and it was the same ideas over and over.  Way too much telling and not enough creation of the love story between the leads. 
 
It made it so I never really believed in the romance. 
 
I will try this writer again and hope that a different plot allows for a love story that appeals more to me.

The morning of their 9th birthday twins Gabby and Lily Mason find a young woman on their porch asleep wearing a wedding gown, their screams of delight that their Daddy had gotten married to give them a “Mama” for their present not only woke Annie Rose up but brought their father out to see what all commotion was about.




Finding herself on a strangers porch with the family cat curled up next to her asleep was the last thing Annie expected, she had no intention of staying but when confronted with the heartfelt pleas of the twins plus the genuine need by Mason for a person willing to fill the gap of time before he could replace their nanny she found herself making a promise to help out for a few days.




Mason Harper found himself a single parent 8 years prior when his wife Holly died unexpectedly, for all those years it has been he and his girls with none of the women he dated briefly even making his heart flutter once. Boy is it fluttering now! Annie Rose is nothing like his deceased wife in looks but some of her mannerisms are dead on which makes his uncomfortable attraction to the new nanny a reason for him to feel guilty that he is somehow betraying cherished memories of Holly.




What I liked best about this tale is that it is not a fish-out-of-water story, Annie Rose was raised on a ranch so she knows full well the hours of day to day work and that a flexible schedule works best when it comes to meal times and making sure that the abundant energy that two 9-year-old girls have is channeled into the proper outlets to keep them out of making mischief as much as possible.




The fact is that Annie fits right in as not only is she able to cook, she is a former nurse which comes in handy when dealing with minor illness or medical emergencies caused by the over zealous application of claws by the family Tomcat O’Malley. The icing on the cake comes when she is able to help with fiddle and singing lessons for the girls and when she wins over the foreman’s elderly grandfather there is no better character reference!




Like the previous book in the series this one also builds the romance slowly so Mason has time to realize that Annie is just what he needs after 8 years of grieving and Annie finds that not all men are abusive like her Ex but rather able to show passion sweetly even when driven by a need as strong as her own.




Wow! Can only say am sorry series has ended but if it had to go this was a great send off and such a heartwarming story it was enough to give me chill bumps more than a time or two along the way to the HEA.

I really enjoyed this book and happily recommend it.

To escape an abusive relationship and for any hope of a better future Annie Rose must escape and run for her life. With a turn of good fate it leads her right into the ranch of Mason Harper and his spunky/hell-on-wheels twin 9 year old daughters. Mason needs a nanny, the girls want a "mama" and Annie Rose is just the answer they needed. You will fall in love with Lily and Gabby with their endless energy, smart mouths and "How To" books. Not to mention the very sexy and endearingly romantic rancher Mason. Prepare to laugh, ooh and ahh all while you enjoy another great addition to the Cowboy's and Bride's series.
