Your sister's in love with him for one thing, Debbie thought, but she didn't say it aloud. Ida didn't want her secret spilled to the world. And Emery probably knew anyway and was just as convinced the case was hopeless as she did.
"See?" he teased. "You're speechless. There's not one gut reason Paul Wagler shouldn't be arriving here every Sunday evening for sweet visits with you."
Whew! As you can see, there is a great deal of conflict in this book by Jerry Eicher. Debbie is Englisha and moves to the home of the bishop of the Amish church to become Amish while her friend, Lois (daughter of the same bishop) wants to leave the Amish faith to become Englisha. Paul Wagler is pursuing Debbie and she wants Alvin Knepp, but Alvin has left home and moved to the Englisha world and no one knows why.
I won't spoil the story for readers, but just wanted to give a "tease". This book kept me on my toes and I could hardly wait to get a moment to sit with my kindle and read more! I rate this 5 stars and highly recommend it to readers.

Seeing Your Face Again is another outstanding book by Jerry S. Eicher. This is the second in the Beiler Sisters series. Making it even more interesting and true to life is knowing that Mr. Eicher was raised Amish and even taught in an Amish school. The story continues with Debbie pursuing her quest to become Amish. She grew up next door to the Beiler family and spent lots of time with the daughters of Bishop Beiler. Lois Beiler is fascinated with the way Debbie grew up and wants to become "English". They "swap" lives so to speak, with Lois living with Debbie's parents and Debbie living with Lois's family. The question to be answered is will Lois continue her new lifestyle or will she come back home as Amish? Will Debbie continue on in the instruction to join the Amish church? And will they each find love somewhere along the way? Another daughter, Ida, must face some tough times and decide how to continue on with her life. Verna, the oldest, is expecting her first baby with her husband Joe. Lots of things to be continued in book 3, that I'm anxiously awaiting to read when it is released in September. I've always enjoyed reading stories about the Amish and this author writes so well and weaves such an interesting story that I can hardly put it down until I'm finished with it!
