Good To Know

1.) I started The Deed (my first romantic comedy and the first book to be published) a year after my mother's death. I was very close to my mother and the year following her death was about the most miserable time imaginable. But then I decided I was tired of being down and unhappy, and looked around for something to lift my spirits and make me laugh. When I couldn't find anything, I decided to sit down and write my own. It worked! Emmalene and Amaury's antics in The The Deed had me chuckling as I wrote.
2.) I met my husband in New York in July 2003. I was there because of the RWA conference and he was there on vacation. The first day there we kept running into each other and chatting in front of the hotel, and then he asked to join our group (it was very brave of him. He was the lone male amongst six or seven women, lol). He's a Brit and I'm Canadian and the first two months of our relationship were conducted by phone as well as over the internet. Our first date was a week in New York in September, followed by three weeks in England. He then came to Canada in both November and December, the first time to propose and the second time for Christmas with my family and then to take me back to England with him for New Years. I lived in Northern England for two years. We married in New York and now live in Canada.
3.) I was writing about my husband before I met him. Single White Vampire came out in September 2003 and I took a copy with me to England when I went for the three weeks. I walked into my now-hubby's house to find at least six months worth of mail unopened and stacked up on a shelf inside the front door. When I stopped dead, eyes going wide with shock and asked "My God. That's mail. You don't open your mail?" He looked embarrassed and muttered some explanation about bills automatically being paid by the bank so no need to open those and everything else was unsolicited and he couldn't be bothered. When I burst out laughing, he started to frown and said "What?" My response was to dig out the copy of Single White Vampire and hand it over with the suggestion he read it. The mail thing wasn't the only similarity he had to Lucern Argeneau. There are many more and when he sat down to read the book, he kept stopping and turning a rather startled and even suspicious gaze my way and muttering that this sounded familiar" or that did. I had to point out that it really was coincidence, that I had written that story at least nine months before meeting him. LOL.

Immortal Ever After is the 18th book in Lynsay Sands¿ insanely

Immortal Ever After is the 18th book in Lynsay Sands’ insanely popular Argeneau series, and a fun, exciting, sexy story! I’ve read more than my fair share of the paranormal romance genre, most especially vampires. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about these tormented souls that draw me in and keep me coming back for more. It’s not often that I fall in love during my first read of a series, but I fell - and fell hard - for the Argeneau world. This is my first taste of Lynsay Sands’ writing and I was very pleased! This world she’s created is exciting, and the characters are intriguing, compelling, and yeah.... very sexy.

I usually hate coming into a series mid-way because I either end up lost or cringing at the information dump we have to endure. Thankfully, I was neither lost nor cringing because Ms. Sands did a great job of giving us the Argeneau world background without making me feel like I was reading a text book. The story is well written and through dialog between characters – old and new – she imparts everything new readers need to know to feel like we’re part of the story, not just reading about it.

Anders is such a great guy! I can see why everyone loves him, and anyone who’s been anxiously awaiting his story will be very happy! He’s so much fun… open but shy, strong but vulnerable, and not just sexy but super sexy! He’s the kind of vampire I want for my very own!

Valerie is a great heroine. What she’s endured would break most women, but not her. Even though everything she ever thought she knew about the world around her has been turned upside down, she holds it together and does what she has to to survive.

The bottom line: In case you didn’t get it, I really enjoyed this book, and while it was my first experience with Ms. Sands’ Argeneau series, it most certainly will not be my last!

My thanks to Avon Books for providing me with a copy of this story I exchange for an honest review.

    Another delicious bite

I love this series and this one didn't disappoint. I really like how charactors from previous books are included. I do miss Thomas though. I laughed out loud during some parts. I can't wait for the next one! I think I might read Lucian & Leigh's story again because they were in this book a lot and I really get a kick out of them. Thanks Lynsay for another great read!

I always enjoy Argeneau series. This seemed a bit different then the others, but still very exciting to read. I didn't want to put it down. Valerie is kidnapped by a rogue vampire and manages an escape only to end up hurt and in the hands of Anders, an enforcer. Of course as in any of the books, they fall in love. But, it's getting there that is fun and I got a few laughs from Leigh's story, hugely pregnant and past due. There are many exciting parts too that had me on the edge of my seat.

Valerie didn't believe in Vampires.. excuse me Immortals, I mean why would she.. until she is kidnapped and imprisoned by a rogue Immortal. Valerie is rescued by the Argeneau rescue team. Immortal Ever After is the latest book in Ms. Sands Argeneau series. Not having read any previous books in this series, I was a little worried I might not be able to jump right into the story, I quickly discovered that the books in this series are all stand alone books.

I love the way Lynsay "humanizes" Anders. Immortals have a sensory awakening when they find their life mate, after years of not eating real food, his appetite returns, and he loves ice cream..(so cute).  The attraction and chemistry between Anders and Valerie will make your heart flutter and your toe's curl (As for the humor- just wait until you read what Ander's real name is... that made me laugh out loud). The drama in the book is effectively married with the passion and the humor. I finished this book wishing every book I read made me feel this way when I turned the final page.

I am excited to read more books in this series and if you are a fan of series books there are A LOT of them (20 to be exact). On the top of my TBR list is Bite Me If You Can, I  loved Lucian and Leigh's relationship in this book, so I can't wait to see how they became the couple they are in Immortal Ever After.

    Exremely disappointed.

The story started out great but quickly got dull. The writing was very elementary and she would break down every minute event like getting water or changing clothes. I could skip full paragraphs because there was so much fluff. Her overuse of the word wryly was extremely annoying since most of the time there was nothing really wry about the character was saying. And the whole story was just simple. There was very little action after she escaped and her relationship with anders had no struggle from start to finish. After being kidnapped by a vampire i would have expected her to be a bit more resistant to anders which would have added some intruig to the story but she barely cared. Overall the story just didnt click.

Lynsay Sands delivered another solid book with Immortal Ever Aft

Lynsay Sands delivered another solid book with Immortal Ever After. It didn't blow me away, but it did keep me thoroughly entertained all the way to the end. But, all of the books in the Argeneau Series seem to follow the same format:

Dramatic Opening Scene where someone is in danger

    Dramatic Rescue

    Discovery of possible life mate

Suspense over whether said life mate will accept the news about Immortals

Anxiety while waiting for their decision

    Another possible dramatic event

Resolution where they live happily ever after

The story is for the most part good, but it feels like it is following a very strict formula, with little to no surprises thrown in. And something about this book didn't dig deep enough into the two main characters' emotions. I wanted them to end up together, sure. But I wasn't really invested in it like I was with the first several books in this series. Maybe I'm becoming a little bit cynical, but it seems that the last couple of books I have read that are part of a long series seem to leave me wanting more. This book ultimately did that. It was a nice, easy read - kind of like a carefree day at the beach. But I wanted something heavier that had me tied up in knots; anxious over the relationship in question. I recommend it if you have been reading this series because it has certain plot lines that continue on the story of older characters that we know and love. But I won't tell you to move it immediately to the top of your TBR list.

I love all of the Argeneau stories! I have to say that Lynsay really knows how to combine everything into one book; comedy, action, love and the great characters that make it happen. Anders was wonderful in this book, I learned so much about him and his story! You realy fall in love with the fact that he really gets a happy ending. Great story, I just wish it would have been longer though! :-) Overall great story!!
