Nash

It’s always the same. The dream starts out with the feeling of a weight being lifted from my arms. That’s how I know what’s coming, that I’ll look down at my feet and see my hands pulling away from the box of supplies I was carrying, the box that now rests on the faded planks of the dock.

I straighten and take my cell phone from my pocket, flicking my thumb over the button that brings the screen to glowing life. I hit the camera app and raise the phone until I see the girl framed perfectly inside the lighted square.

She’s lying on the top deck of a yacht across the way. It’s swaying gently against the dock at the marina. It’s a great boat, but it’s not the boat that I’m interested in. Not at all. I’m interested in the girl. She’s young, she’s blond, and she’s topless.

Her skin is shiny with tanning oil and the sun glints off the firm, round globes of her tits. They’re the perfect handful, the kind that begs to be squeezed until she moans. The breeze picks up and, although it’s warm, her nipples pucker against it. They’re pouty and pink and they make my dick throb.

Damn, I love the marina!

Someone bumps my shoulder and I lose the girl in my viewfinder. I turn and glare at the old man who’s ambling off down the pier. I bite back the snide comment that’s hanging on the tip of my tongue. Cash wouldn’t bother. He doesn’t hold his tongue for anybody. But I’m not Cash.

Ignoring the old man, I turn back toward the yacht, back toward the topless girl with the great rack. But before I can find her again, something else catches my attention.

There’s a man standing at the end of the walkway, at the edge of the shore. He’s lounging against the back wall of the little shack that sells basic grocery items and gas for the various watercraft that use the marina. He looks casual enough, but there’s something about the way he’s dressed that seems . . . off. He’s wearing slacks. Like, dress slacks. And he’s pulling a thin rectangle out of his pocket. For the most part it looks like a cell phone. Only it’s not. With the magnification of my camera, I can see that it’s just a plain black box with a little red button on top.

I see his thumb slide easily over the button just before something slams into me so hard it knocks me off my feet and into the water behind me.

Then there’s nothing.

I don’t know how many minutes, or hours, or even days have passed when I wake up in the water. I’m floating face up as my head bumps repeatedly against the nubby, barnacle-covered pier.

Achy, I urge my muscles into motion and roll onto my stomach. Stiffly, I ease into a slow swim toward one of the several ladders that dot the length of the dock. I climb, dripping wet, out of the water and look around for whatever caused the loud explosion I heard just before I was thrown into the water.

When I turn toward where my family’s schooner was tethered, I see a cluster of people gathered there. It takes a full thirty seconds for my mind to interpret what I’m seeing—an empty boat slip, pieces of flaming wood peppering the dock, bits of splintered furniture scattered throughout the water. And smoke. Lots of smoke. And whispers, too. And, in the distance, growing closer, sirens.

I come awake from the nightmare with a start, just like I always do. I’m sweating and breathing hard, just like I always am. My face is wet with tears, just like it always is. It’s been so long since I’ve had the dream, I forget how devastated and empty and . . . angry it leaves me feeling.

But now I remember. I remember with perfect clarity. And today, it’s like pouring gasoline onto a raging fire.

I sit up in the bed to catch my breath. My side twinges in pain, reminding me of what happened last night. All of it comes rushing back, further fueling my fury.

Until a small, cool hand touches my shoulder.

I turn to see Marissa sitting up behind me, leaning on her elbow, looking at me through sleepy, sexy blue eyes. Before I can even think about what I’m doing, all the bitterness, all the anger, all the pent-up aggression gets channeled into pure lust. The need to devour something, to lose myself in something overwhelms everything else and I dive in. To her.

Spinning, I roll onto Marissa, pressing her warm body into the mattress. I hear her soft gasp as I crush her lips beneath mine. I swallow it—the sound, the fear, the hesitant desire—taking it in and letting it feed the animal inside me.

My tongue slips easily into her mouth. She tastes sweet, like honey. I push my knee between her thighs and they part, allowing me to settle my hips against hers.

It’s not until I push my hand under the edge of her shirt that I realize she’s stiff. I lift my head to look down at her. She’s staring at me with wide, surprised, slightly terrified eyes.

    Plot spoilers

    99% of the reviews here are plot spoilers, some even saying i wont spoil it but.... then we have the ever present spoilers braggers who brag how they got their book for free for their, cough,cough, honest review, which is a joke. You ppl get a free book, then turn around and spoil the book for everyone else who has to buy their book. By that time there is no reason to buy it because you ppl just told the entire storyline. Please bn, please ban these plot spoiling reviewers and delete their posts, please?

    Disappointing

    Disappointing, that's what this book was from beginning to end. I preordered it as soon as it became available. I even read books 1 and 2 one more time a couple of days before this one was released. I enjoyed reading the first two books again. But the moment I started the third book, the pace of the story slowed down, there was barely anything exciting going on, and it was very, very repetitive. To make it worse, this was all about Marissa and Nash. The first half of the book was dedicated to convincing us, the readers, how wonderful Marissa was now after her epiphany while kidnapped. Pages and pages of her self-analyses, remembering how cold and terrible she had been to Olivia and how much she loved her now. Her chapters alternated with Nash's chapters where he showed just how selfish, bitter and angry he was and how he wanted to use Marissa just for sex to make her pay for being a cold b*** (his words, not mine). As if I was not having enough trouble believing Marissa's conversion, there goes Nash reminded us how horrible she was during the first two books. The second half gets a little more action, but not much, and the legal resolution to the twins' fathers wrong imprisonment case is all of a sudden set up but there is little detail about the proceeds. This second half is basically focused on Marissa and Nash having sex, but romance was absent until the last pages when, like a miracle, he confesses his 'true' feelings to her and they have a cheesy happily ever after. In the end, I missed Cash and Olivia. I waited for this book to read about them and their happily ever after. But they were only secondary (very secondary) characters in this book. The story could have been so much better making it about Cash and Olivia again, with Marissa and Nash being the secondary characters that they deserved to be. Very disappointing.

    Leighton totally delivers with this one...

    Marissa has been cold and heartless her whole life; she was bred that way. But when a case of mistaken identity gets her kidnapped and held hostage and then freed, well, she looks at life a little differently. So she decides it is time to start over and reinvent herself. And it starts with apologizing to her cousin, Olivia, who she has treated worst of all. And with a little help from Nash, maybe she can be the person she needs to be...the person she wants to be. With his help, she feels free. And maybe somewhere along the way she will be able to free him, too, of his demons.

    But a part of me doesn't mind him intruding on my privacy. In fact, on some level, I crave it. I crave everything he represents. He is like rebellion. And freedom. Like a salvation of sorts. I just didn't know until recently that I needed saving.

    Leighton, Leighton, Leighton!! Do you know how much I adore you? Do you know how happy I am to have been introduced to these fabulous characters or the wickedly amazing storyline you delivered book after book? So much emotion run rampant in your stories and I am truly glad to have been a part of it. You are one serious author to be reckoned with. And I look forward to much, much more of your work!

    Hot {adjective} Definition: very high in temperature

    This whole series is completely and utterly hot. Yes, if one word had to be used it would be that...HOT! And EVERYTHING FOR US was no different than the first two. Mrs. Leighton sure knows what she is doing when she writing certain scenes. Oh yes, you know what scenes I am talking about don't you? Those scenes that stay with you long after they are over; on constant replay in your mind. Oh la la!

    When I say what I am about to say...I am probably gonna have to dodge a few evil glares and snide remarks thrown my way. But hear me out, okay? Lately I have grown tired of reading the same thing over and over again. You see it in Every.Single.Book lately...the cocky, selfish, I want every woman to drown in my gorgeousness type of guy. And Nash is no different. Only thing is....it works for him. And it works for this book. So yeah, even though I am sick of reading that type of guy lately, I wouldn't want Nash any other way. I'll take him any way I can get him.

    Regardless of his motives, the effect is still the same. In fact, the thought that he might need me as I feel like I need him intensifies it. Instantly, my mind stills and the panic quiets. That's the moment I realize that yes, he is trouble. And that no, it won't keep me away from him. Nothing will.

    I absolutely recommend this book! But if you've read the other 2 there should be no doubt in your mind that you should read this one. Am I right or am I right? It finished out the series perfectly when closure on all accounts. Not one part did I feel didn't get the closure it so desperately needed. In fact, I finished this story with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face.

     Everything for Us is from Nash's point of view. Which was aweso

     Everything for Us is from Nash's point of view. Which was awesome. I loved getting to know him and his side of the story in regards to his family. I feel like I need to start of by saying that I love Cash. But Nash....wow. He is definitely a full blown manly man. He is a I need what I need and that's it. He gets what he wants from who he wants. His cockiness was my favorite quality. He is pretty much a hotty bad ass who has had a rough life and is kid of a broken person. He didn't have a normal life and was forced to grow up way to soon. and do things no kid should have too. We all know that Cash and Nash's family is not normal. Having Nash back is a big change for everyone. His dad is glad to see him. I think Cash is too even though he'd never admit it. It's been hard on Cash to be both brothers. To have Nash back is a thing of dreams. Will he be able to save his dad? Will he ever have a normal life? 




    Marissa changes so much in Everything for Us. I actually liked her! I know weird right. I didn't like her in the other books. Being kidnapped is enough to change anyone. Marissa is no longer the spoiler brat who does everything Daddy wants her to do. She is a young woman who is now realizing the horrible person she was before. She no longer is that way.  A lot of that change has to do with Nash too. He manages to call her out on her crap and open her eyes. Their relationship starts out as nothing more then both of them needing something from each other. Things quickly begin to change as Nash starts to realize he wants a life and Marissa just might be at the center of that. Marissa wants to have a life too. Her own. That includes an man that loves her and a career that doesn't end in her marrying a man with status. She ends up helping with Nash's dad's trial. She grew into an intelligent drive persona and I loved it! I wanted to high five her at the end!




    The romance between Nash and Marissa is smoldering hot! There is so much sexual tension between them that it's like a bomb going off when their are together. Nash is so different in that department then Cash. Things got complicated at times but, they handled them as adults. Marissa was no long the winy girl. They were perfect for each other. We still get to see Cash and Olivia too, they are not absent. So no worries there. 




    I love this book. The ending was perfect even though I cried like a baby. I am sad to see the end of this series but, all good things come to an end right. Go out and get this one everyone!!

    Awesomely Perfect

    What a great book Michelle! It was great to hear Nash's side of the story and I loved the way it all ended. You have an amazing talent to tell an intriguing story that keeps its readers consumed until the very last word. I will read everything you put out!

    This is the third book in the Bad Boys Series. Unlike the first

    This is the third book in the Bad Boys Series. Unlike the first two books (Down To You & Up To Me) this one is told from Nash & Marissa’s POV’s. At first I thought I would have a hard time connecting with them because I had already grown so attached to Olivia & Cash but I was WRONG! Within just a few pages my mind was eased & I ended up LOVING every minute of it. Nash needs to get away from his nightmares of his mother’s death. He finds his escape in Marissa. Even though she knows Nash is no good for her, she can’t deny their attraction. I really enjoyed watching Marissa grow as a person. She wants to be a better person & break ties with her former life. She decides she wants to practice criminal law & help with Mr. Davenport’s trial. While gathering information for his trial, she realizes Nash is brilliant. Their chemistry is ON FIRE! Soon we learn that Nash is keeping a secret from her. He’s nervous about what will happen if she finds out. Mr. Davenport asks both of his boys to let go & live their lives but that’s just not possible for either of them. Nash believes Marissa doesn’t deserve to live a life consumed by his past & makes a decision that not only devastates him but Marissa also. It really was something to watch him struggle with his feelings about both himself & Marissa. We get to see Nash & Cash come to terms with their past & start to build a relationship. I was so pleased with this book & was a wonderful ending to everyone’s journey. I would LOVE to be able to check in with all of them again someday! 

    - He’s different. He’s wild. He’s dangerous. And I’m ready for that. All that. I need it, crave it. I know it can never be anything more than this, but for one small space in time, he’s mine. And I’m his.
