Meet the Author

Judith McNaught

Judith McNaught is the New York Times bestselling author who first soared to stardom with her stunning bestseller Whitney, My Love, and went on to win the hearts of millions of readers with Once and Always, Something Wonderful, A Kingdom of Dreams, Almost Heaven, Paradise, Perfect, Until You, Remember When, Someone to Watch Over Me, the #1 bestseller Night Whispers, and other novels. There are more than thirty million copies of her books in print. She lives in Houston.

Biography

USA Today has said, "When it comes to writing romance, Judith McNaught is in a class by herself." Interestingly, while McNaught's career as a bestselling author has been thriving for many years, she has led the life of a Renaissance woman, dabbling in the fields of radio, film, and finance before settling into her writer's role. The first female executive producer at a CBS radio station, McNaught also served stints as an assistant director of a film crew, a comptroller of a major trucking company, president of a temporary employment agency, and president of an executive search firm.

McNaught first clicked with the reading public when her book Whitney My Love (considered by many to be the first full-length Regency historical novel) was published as a paperback original in 1985, promptly winning the Romantic Times Award for Best New Historical Novel. As a result of her newfound fame, two previously published romantic tales were reissued with commercial success. By the 1990s, McNaught had switched to contemporary romance, and with 1998's Night Whispers, she segued into romantic suspense, an area she has honed to polished perfection.

A spectacular storyteller with legions of loyal fans, McNaught proves her chops with each successive book. Honors and awards have followed in a steady stream. In addition to the Affaire de Coeur Golden Pen Certificate, she has received a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award honoring her entire body of work. Hers was the first romance novel ever chosen as a main selection by the Book-of-the-Month Club; and her titles consistently turn up on The New York Times bestseller list.

In between books, McNaught devotes herself to several charities and is active in the promotion of women's literacy.

After reading Once and Always, I wasnt sure I could possibly like a different story. This is definitely just as good if not even better in some aspects because I think Jordan is more likable than Jason. Great read.

    Liked it..

I'm a hug fan of Judith McNaught. Her heroes and heriones are always characters I love..which makes the book good for me. With this book..however, I love Jordan and Alexandra but the story line was just too slow for me in the middle. Maybe because Jordan wasn't a part of it. =) Jordan's the type of guy who melts my heart. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. Can't wait to read more by Judith McNaught.

    Enthralling!

Another Judith McNaught classic that should be on every historical romance fans' list. Judith McNaught has such a way of devising plots with dynamic characters, which mature and develop in depth as you turn the page. She takes her readers through a roller coaster of emotions with her character conflicts. Highly recommend all Judith McNaught novels, but especially this one.

    Absolutely Delightful

I actually laughed out loud. The book was a refreshing change from the other 'romance novels' out there. I loved everything about it, the way the characters fell into place, the story line. It was funny and at the same time heartbreaking.

    To Good to be True

There are no words to describe this utterly fascinating novel. I finished it in less than a day and during that whole time I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. This, in my opinion, is JM's greatest book by far. I love her wit and her characters are absolutely tantalizing. I laughed throughout the whole book and cried at the end. Why can't you rate something more than five stars? Nothing has moved or inspired me more than this novel. I wish I could say more to describe this flawless book but what else IS there to say except that it is horrifically amazing?

    THE BEST!

Of the HUNDREDS of historical romance novels I've read, this ranks as one the very, very best. Everything aout the book, its storyline, characters, JM's style and use of words... it was simply beautiful, touching and sooo sweet. For me, what makes a historical romance novel interesting is without a doubt the spirited, beautiful heroine, but JM throws in a twist. Also, I love how Alexandre stays true to her character. It's rather annoying and exasperating when the characters deny eachothers' feelings till almost the last page, and then BOOM, all is great. JM makes Alexandre seem like a REAL person because as much as we admire a strong woman, we all know that when a woman loves a man, it's hard to be indifferent. I found Jordan mean and cold and downright undeserving at times, but finding out about his past and the things he does later to make her happy fully redeems himself. We also see HOW vital Alexandre becomes a part of Jordan's life, because of the things she did- NOT only because they slept together. This book is definitely a keeper.

    Fabulous Historical Romance Novel

Judith McNaught provides a romantic and suspensful plot. While the story itself is intriguing and kept me needing to read more, perhaps the greatest element of the novel is McNaught's clever use of characters. Not only are the hero and heroine divine, but the smaller characters are neither static or predictable. The novel makes you wish to know even the smaller ones more. I loved it all so much, that I was disappointed when I was finished reading it, and wanted more!

It is definitely 'Something Wonderful' indeed!

'Oh My God,' the first words out of a hopeless romantic's lips once she finished this breathtakingly amazing story. 'Oh My God.' I love Judith McNaught. She is incredible! The story is so unique, heartrending, and oh so undeniably real...Ahhh, it's absolutely amazing! I cried. It was soooo touching.

    Somthing Wonderful indeed!

I have read all of Judith McNaught's books and this remains one of my very favorites! Alexandra is so innocent and has such heart you can't help but love her! Jordan is a character that you almost want to hate, but you end up falling in love with him regardless! An amazing story with such strong characters! It is a must read!

    Something Wonderfully refreshing...

This book was a gift from my sister who loves all of J.Mcnaught's works. I have to say I was completely enthralled from the very first chapter! I could not put this book down, and finished in two days. I laughed, cried, and just completely enjoyed this story so much that I wish there was no ending to it! I was a little confused as the the wound she received in the last part of the story. But, aside from that I highly recommend this book to anyone who just needs a little pick-me-up on a rainy or snowy day!
