From there, the suspense never lets up. Dani manages to get away, picking up Simon, her deaf son, as planned, but on the same day, her husband is killed. Now the danger escalates. Stuart is stalking them; no matter where they go, he or his henchmen turn up to threaten their very lives. When Dani finally calls Operation Refuge, a government-sanctioned protection program, Adam Buchanan and his team promise to help her and stop Stuart’s gang’s advances. But despite OR’s best efforts to take her undercover, Dani’s pursuers track them down. How do they keep finding them? Adam and Dani value family deeply: both are forced to sacrifice much to protect loved ones, heal damaged relationships, and stop evil. CHAPTER 1

THURSDAY, JUNE 5 12:15 P.M. GREENVILLE, SC

Danielle Harding pressed the ice pack to her bruised cheek and watched her husband back out of the driveway. He was gone, headed to a two-day conference downtown, and she was ready. No time for tears or for the hatred she felt for the man.

Instead, she turned from the window and rushed up the stairs to the master bedroom. From the closet, she pulled her midsize suitcase and tossed it onto the king-size bed. She bolted into the large walk-in closet and grabbed the clothes she'd already planned to take. Next, the toiletries.

At the slam of the door she froze. Terror thrummed through her veins.

"Dani?"

He'd come back. No, no, no. Lightheaded with the rush of terror, Dani grabbed the suitcase and shut it, zipped it.

Heard his footsteps on the stairs.

"Dani!"

A cold sweat broke out all over her body. She pulled the suitcase into the closet and shoved it toward the back.

Breathless, she called, "I'm up here, Kurt." What was he doing back? He'd already come home for an early lunch and to grab a few more things, including the box of toy snakes he'd had her buy that morning.

She should have waited.

Icy fear slugged her in the gut. She backed out of the closet and pulled the door shut. She made a beeline for the bathroom and grabbed the brush from the sink seconds before he stepped into the room.

"What are you doing?"

"Brushing my hair. It needed it." She dragged the bristles through the tangles he'd left when he'd grabbed her by the back of the head. Her hand trembled. She set the brush on the counter and turned to face him, hoping no emotions showed. "What are you doing back? Did you forget something?"

"Yeah. My wallet. Have you seen it?"

"You put it in your coat pocket."

"You sure?"

"I'm sure."

He stared at her. Before she could stop herself, she raised a hand to cover the forming bruise beneath her right eye. "I'm sorry," he said, his dark eyes reflecting a remorse she'd seen too many times in their twelve years of marriage. A remorse that would vanish as soon as he perceived she'd done something "wrong" again.

"It's okay," she soothed. "You didn't mean it. It was my fault anyway I shouldn't have pushed the issue."

She'd wanted to have a birthday party for Simon, their son. Kurt had said no. She'd begged him to reconsider and he'd punched her in the face.

He reached toward her and she couldn't help the small flinch. His jaw tightened and his eyes narrowed.

Quickly, she stepped forward and placed a kiss on his lips. "I'll see you when you get back."

His features softened and he nodded. He glanced at the clock. "I gotta get out of here. You're sure it's in my coat pocket?"

"Positive."

"Right. Bye."

"Bye," she whispered.

He loped back down the stairs. She watched him from the balcony overlooking the foyer. He turned back and she caught her breath.

"I'll be home day after tomorrow."

"I know. Be safe." She tried not to choke on the words.

He gave her a two-fingered salute and slipped out the door. Dani sank to the floor, her legs no longer able to support her. "Oh Lord, I don't think I can do this."

Jenny Cartee had assured her she could. Jenny. Dear, sweet Jenny, who'd recognized an abused wife and confronted her about it. Jenny, who'd showed Dani that she had worth, didn't deserve to be a punching bag, and helped her find the courage to leave before her husband killed her. Or Simon.

Just thinking her son's name gave her the strength to rise to her feet.

Eleven-year-old Simon. If she couldn't do this for herself, she had to do it for her son. Simon deserved to grow up without the constant fear and pain he lived with on a daily basis.

Dani waited fifteen minutes to make sure Kurt was really gone this time. Then she moved fast. She dragged the suitcase from the closet and finished packing it with her things, added Simon's, and then carried the luggage down the stairs and into the garage.

The black SUV sat in the far spot, just waiting. Any other day, she wouldn't have dared drive the car. Kurt kept a log of the mileage, when she drove, how far she drove, and demanded a list of each person she talked to. Today was different. Today she didn't care. Today she and Simon would finally be free. Simon rode to and from school with a friend and he was due home soon. As soon as he walked in the door, they'd leave. Because Kurt would call Mitchell's mother to make sure she'd delivered him. All under the guise of being a loving father, of course.

Dani went back into the house and up the stairs to the guest bedroom. She moved the nightstand and pulled up the swatch of carpet covering the small hole she'd cut into the plywood. The small box beckoned to her from its resting place on the two-by-four. She grabbed it, covered the hole with the carpet, and moved the nightstand back into place. She had managed to gather a few hundred dollars and stash the money along with some other items in the little box. But she needed more.

Back in the master bedroom she set the box on the bed, then looked at the picture on the wall. Before she had a chance to talk herself out of it, she removed the picture and looked at the dial on the safe. She'd played with the combination a few times before when the thought of leaving had consumed her. Always before she had come up empty. If this time was the same, she'd just have to take what she had and go.

Again, she tried birthdays, anniversaries, the time Simon was born. Kurt's brother's birthday, his mother's. Nothing. Frustration clawed at her.

Then it hit her. Kurt was a narcissist. It wouldn't be about his family It would be about him. His pride. What did he cherish the most?

His job. His status. She tried his birthday, his graduation day from the academy Her fingers stilled.

His badge number.

4892.

But she only needed three numbers for the combination.

She shot a glance at the clock. Time ticked away. Maybe she should just give up.

But not yet.

Something pushed her to get into the safe. She spun the dial. 4-8-9.

Nothing.

She ran her sweaty palms down her jean-clad thighs. Heart pounding faster than usual, she went back to the combination. 8-9-2.

Nothing.

48-9-2. She pulled the handle.

Click.

The door opened with a quiet whoosh.

A thrill shot through her. She'd done it. The door to the safe stood open. She wasted a precious ten seconds just staring at the piles of cash in front of her. Then raced to grab a bag from her closet. Almost weeping with gratitude, she swept the money into the bag, and after only a moment's hesitation, emptied the entire safe.

Which included a Glock 17 and other items she didn't have time to identify.

Her blood hummed as she saw the stacks of twenty-dollar bills. Elation flowed. She would be able to take care of Simon without worrying about money until she found a job. A new name, a new place, a new life. The thought nearly made her giddy.

She shut the safe and replaced the picture.

And the clock continued to tick away its minutes. Minutes to freedom. Her heart beat hard and she heard herself panting.

Taking a moment to compose herself, she breathed in through her nose and out through her mouth. "You're almost there, Dani. You're almost there."

She raced back down the stairs and out into the garage once more. She hid the bag with the money under the backseat. She returned to the house to fix a cooler of food when the phone rang. She jumped. Froze.

Then glanced at the caller ID. Kurt. Her hand hovered over the handset. What would he do if she ignored it?

Turn around and come back.

She snatched it up. "Hello?"

"Stuart's coming by in about five minutes," Kurt said by way of greeting.

"What? Why?" Her stomach cramped. That would ruin everything.

"He's coming to get something I left in the safe. He should almost be there."

The safe? Really? Today? Stuart came by occasionally to get something from the safe, but today? Fear screamed through her. She spun to look at the clock. "Couldn't he get it tomorrow?"

"Why? You got plans?" The low threat in his voice warned her not to push him. Not when she was this close.

Dani swallowed hard. "Of course not. Tell him that's fine, I'll be here."

"That's what I thought you meant." He hung up.

She ran to the window and glanced out toward the driveway. No sign of Stuart. Did she have time to get the bag out of the car and put the contents back in the safe?

Movement at the end of the street caught her eye.

Stuart.

No time.

Her mind spun and the only plan she could come up with was to play it cool. But what could she say when he saw the empty safe?

Just thinking about being alone in the house with him made her shudder. Three years Kurt's senior, the man made her skin crawl in spite of the fact that he'd always treated her with nothing but respect. Blessed with outrageous good looks, he had the personality of a viper. And the reflexes. Striking when one least expected it. Silent and sneaky with cold eyes she couldn't read and avoided looking at.

Her fingers shook, her blood raced. Oh dear Lord, what do I do?

Tears surfaced. How had she ever thought she could get away with this?

Stuart pulled into the drive.

Anxiety made her nauseous. She ducked away from the window as Stuart got out of his car.

"You can do this. Don't stop to think, just do it."

She hurried toward the stairs and grabbed the handrail to steady herself.

The doorbell rang.

Nowhere to Turn by Lynette Eason is a thrill ride.  It had me holding my breath and my stomach in knots, and this was within the first few chapters.  Danielle is trying to escape an abusive relationship to her FBI husband with her 11 year old son. Her abusive husband happens to die the same day she is trying to escape.  So you would think, end of story and a happy ending.   Not in this case; for Danielle things go from bad to worse.  Her brother in law is infatuated with her, and someone is trying to kill her.  She reaches out to Operation Refuge and Adam is assigned to her case.  He is a retired Marshall with a past and family issues.  Both were very likeable characters.
I should mention that Nowhere to Turn is the second story in the series.  I have not read the first book and did not feel like I missed anything.  I will go back and read it. I am not sure how I missed a new release by this amazing author.
I was actually disappointed that I had figured out one of the plot lines; never guessing that it was just the tip of the ice berg.  When you read a book by Lynette expect to be up all night finishing it.  I highly recommend this book if you like edge of your seat suspense with a sprinkling of romance and faith.

As usual, Lynette's books start with a moment that draws you in and keeps you moving. Nowhere to Turn was no different. A wonderful suspense with characters you'll connect with and root for, it was a book that thoroughly entertained with thrills that kept me up at night for all the right reasons. I love that Lynette keeps her romantic suspense clean and yet doesn't skimp on heart-racing moments, both with her romance and suspense themes. I did struggle a bit with the feel that I figured out too soon who the "bad guy" was, but I wasn't sure if that was the plot or the fact that I've read Lynette's books before. I'm not ready to call it predictable, as that sounds boring and this book definitely was NOT boring, but it did lose one star for me for that reason. Still, I happily give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Nowhere to Turn is a fast-paced, high-tension story from beginning to end. The author draws detailed characters with realistic action and reactions. Trouble starts before the first sentence, and Lynette Easton opens the curtain with Danielle pressing an ice pack to her bruised cheek. That got my attention, and she kept it until the very end.
Adam does his best to protect his attractive client, but evil follows them wherever they go. This creates the tight suspense, but toward the end I found the unrelenting evil rather depressing. Nevertheless it proved to be an entertaining read, and I give Nowhere to Turn four stars.
I was offered an e-book by Revell in return for this honest opinion.

    My Take

I have been wanting to read a book by Lynette Eason for a long time, so when I had the opportinuty to review one for Revell Reads i grabbed it. This book is ok, its the second in the Hidden Idenity series but that didnt make it confusing. It grabbed my attention from the first page and held it most of the way through the book, but towards the end I started thinking if they actually put more effort into the investigation side of things they might have saved theirselves some trouble, but then again I guess they were hired to protect not to investigate. So its not on my favorites list but it was a good book anyway. I look forward to reading more of Lynette Easons work in the future!

The Nutshell: A mom and son running from the shadows of her husband's grave. A rescuer comes along side as protection. Twists and turns take them on a dangerous adventure where they come face to face with life and death. All because of one dead man's decisions.

Pro's: This book moved fast! An easy one day read that keeps you searching for one more clue to solve the mysterious puzzle. This is book two in the Hidden Identity Series but can very easily read as a stand-alone. And I honestly think it's better than the first book.

Con's: It moved so fast! I just wanted it to keep going and not stop, but unfortunately, it did.

Recommendation: Read this book! Read this series for that matter! There is a bit of violence and semi-graphic scenes. If you're looking for light and fluffy, this is not that book. Suspenseful and faced-paced? This is it!

    A first-rate thrilling suspense novel!

Nowhere To Turn is a story will keep you guessing, just when you think you have it all figured out another twist comes along.

I really enjoyed the twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat and I finished the book in pretty short order. I had a lazy weekend and Nowhere To Turn was the perfect place to turn to for an exciting and thrilling read. Even the cover is delightfully mysterious and does its job well by enticing the reader to open the pages.

Lynette Eason not only knows her craft well, but she is also a master at her genre. I love suspense/mystery, it really is my favorite genre, and over the years I've read some great suspense books and some that were not so great. Lynette Eason was easily one of the best authors I have read, and if Nowhere To Turn is true example of her work than I can be assured that her other books will definitely be good.

The only bad, or rather sad, thing is that I have to wait a WHOLE YEAR to read book 3! I guess I will just have to console myself and read some of Lynette Eason's other books in the meantime.

Don't miss Nowhere To Turn, book 2 in Lynette Eason's exciting Hidden Identity series!

(I received a copy of this book from Revell Reads in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.)

The opening scenes of this book were so intense that I think I held my breath through chapter four. Danielle Harding is an abused wife. She longs to flee from her husband, but he has threatened to kill their son if she tries again. Just when all hope of ever leading a normal life is lost she gets news that her husband has died. Finally, the ability to live life without the threat of violence. But just when she thought it was safe she begins to feel threatened by her brother-in-law Stuart. He is determined to make her his.

Danielle's husband Kurt and his brother Stuart are both FBI agents so turning to law enforcement for help isn't an option. She knows from experience that you never fully know who you can trust. What she does know is that if she doesn't find help fast she and her son are in big trouble.

In a desperate attempt to free herself and her son she contacts Operation Refuge. Adam Buchanan and his group seems to be her only chance at a normal life. They help her and Simon with new looks and identities and will effectively make them disappear so they can start a new life. She feels safe and protected in their presence until their security measures are mysteriously breached. The lengths they go to to keep Danielle and her son Simon safe are part of what makes this story so fast-paced. The plot twists and underlying currents are sure to keep you reading as fast as you can. Once again you will be left wondering what else could possibly happen up until the very end.

This second book in the Hidden Identity series is every bit as adrenaline pumping suspense as No One To Trust. The series has connecting characters from the first book, but the storyline of this book is completely separate from the first. If you do plan on reading the whole series I would suggest you read it in order so little details don't giveaway the overall plot. But if you want to just jump in and read this second book without the first you will be completely fine in doing so.

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

This is the second book I have read by Lynette and I have to say

This is the second book I have read by Lynette and I have to say I love her writing. From the beginning of this book I was on the edge of my seat. I was reading at night and had to stop myself because I needed to get sleep.

This book has so many layers it was hard to know who was really after Dani. It seemed there could have been any number of people who would want to hurt her. I had no clue.

Lynette does a great job of playing on the mother in us all with Dani’s son Simon. You knew she had to do whatever it took to keep him safe, just as we all would do for our children.

The romance portion of the book was just okay for me, but honestly it didn’t have to be great because the rest of the story was so good.

This is the second book in the Hidden Identity series but you don’t have to read the first one to know what is going on in this one. There are repeat characters but the main characters where either secondary in the first book or not in it at all. So have no worries if this is the first book you pick up. And trust me, if you like suspense you will want to pick this up.

A copy of this book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

With three great series either finished or beginning, Lynette Ea

With three great series either finished or beginning, Lynette Eason is making her mark in the Christian
Suspense genre. Every 8 months or so I start looking out for the next novel from this talented author,
and I’ve not been disappointed once. This is the second book in the “Hidden Identity” series. I would
recommend that you read them in the correct order to understand all of the back information.

What seems to be the answer to her prayers, Danielle finally seems to be free from Kurt, her abusive
husband. Then the other shoe drops and she finds out that he husband was not only abusive to her
and her son, he was also keeping someone from a mysterious person. Even with Kurt dead, this
person is not going to stop before he gets what he wants. Running for her life and doing everything
she can to keep her son safe, Dani turns to Operation Refuge and goes into hiding. Is Kurt really
dead or just in hiding? Is Dani able to keep the mysterious person from harming her family? What
is the item they’re looking for and where is it? Dani may not have “No Where To Turn”, but you need
to turn around now and GO BUY THIS BOOK!!!

BOOM!! That’s exactly how this book starts out and never turns you lose. I found myself rooting for Dani,
glad that she seemed to always stay a step ahead of danger. Feeling my heart beat faster as the
tension and suspense would mount. That’s my opinion of a great book. One that I can lose myself in
and become so wrapped up in that it feels like I’m a part of the story, not just reading one. Lynette has
once again created that experience for me, and I’m sure she will do the same to you once you pick up
     one of her books.

As always Eason has supplied a heart racing, suspenseful read in

As always Eason has supplied a heart racing, suspenseful read in her latest title Nowhere to Turn. As the book opens, Danielle Harding has finally found the courage to flee her abusive husband, taking her 11 year old deaf son and the contents of her husband's home safe.  Having contacted a safe organization, Danielle is ready to assume a new identity, but within hours of leaving, she learns that her husband, a FBI agent, has been killed along with another agent under suspicious circumstances.

Believing that she is finally safe, Dani and son Simon return home, ready to embrace their hometown and to enjoy life as they never could before.  When her brother-in-law's concern for her welfare starts to take a romantic edge and quickly appears obsessive, Dani realizes he is as much a danger as her husband ever was.  Then someone's breaks into the house, trashing everything.  As bits and pieces fall together, it is clear that her husband Kurt was a dirty agent and that someone dangerous wants something he had.  Feeling even more hopeless than she did the day she first ran, Dani again contacts Operation Refuge and Adam Buchanan once again makes keeping mother and son safe his top priority.

Nowhere to Turn is book two in the Hidden Identity series and does follow No One to Trust but can easily be read as a stand-alone.  You won't have all the details of Adam's life, but the essential backstory is provided.   Fast paced and well developed, Nowhere to Turn starts with an unbelievable chase scene that will have you gasping for breath and you will never feel Dani is safe until the last page.  I received a copy of this book for review purposes from Revell.

After the death of her husband, who had abused her, Dani Harding

After the death of her husband, who had abused her, Dani Harding, and her son, Simon have people trying to kill them. So they go into hiding. Unfortunately, no place remains safe for long. This Christian fiction thriller keeps the pace moving. It's difficult to tell just who the bad guys are as even the abusive husband was FBI.

I've read other books by the author and enjoyed them; unfortunately, I was able to easily figure out the twists and turns in this tale.

In addition, the novel needs more careful editing. There are many sentence fragments and even some misspelled words. One page has Simon eleven-years-old and another states that he is twelve with no mention of a birthday. Errors like these prevent me from enjoying an otherwise good tale.

Thank you to Revell Books, a division of Baker Publishing Group for my copy.

Nowhere to Turn is an exciting, tension-filled ride! It is book

Nowhere to Turn is an exciting, tension-filled ride! It is book two in the Hidden Identity series, but is definitely readable as a stand alone novel. If you have read book one in the series, you will remember Adam Buchanan. He is now the hero of Nowhere to Turn and is tasked with the job of keeping Danielle Harding and her son safe from those who are trying to kill them.

Adam, Dani, and her son, Simon are very well-written and realistic characters. All three of them are good, solid, dependable people. But they are also human and have made mistakes and misjudged situations. Adam faces strained relations with his mother and father because of events that happened in the past. Dani, and her son Simon, faced twelve years of abuse because she made a bad decision in whom she married. Simon makes a decision in the book that really complicates things for him and his mom. This makes these three characters seem very real, since we all make bad decisions sometimes.

If you enjoy twisted and evil bad guys…Lynette Eason knows how to write them! I enjoy that she puts some pretty messed up evildoers in her books and they get their comeuppance in the end, but without a lot of gore. She is able to make the scene scary and uncomfortable, but keep it clean. I appreciate that!

I definitely recommend Nowhere to Turn to fans of romantic suspense.

Danielle has made plans to run from her abusive husband for mont

Danielle has made plans to run from her abusive husband for months. She picks up her son and flies out of town. That evening in a hotel room she learns of her husband's death on the evening news. She returns to her home with a sigh of relief. But unfortunately her husband was a crooked cop and someone is trying to kill her to get to something he's taken from them. Danielle turns to Operation Refuge for help. What follows is a cat and mouse game with an unknown person. Danielle isn't sure if she and her son will ever feel safe enough to trust people again.

The author had my heart racing from the very first chapter. I simply couldn't put the book down. It was the type of book that grabs you and pulls you in. The characters were great. I really enjoyed the main two characters. I thought the author did a great job with the son, Simon, who is deaf. The romance was minimal, but that fit well with the type of story being told. The plot twists were perfect and a few even surprised me, which is nice. This is Christian fiction, but it was subtle. I wasn't aware that this book was in a series until I started writing the review, but I'm definitely going to check out the 1st book. If you like suspense, tension, a bit of romance, and Christian influences then pick up this book.

I received this book free of charge from Revell Reads in exchange for my honest review.

    Lynette Eason's Nowhere to Turn is a page-turner of a romantic s

Lynette Eason's Nowhere to Turn is a page-turner of a romantic suspense. Danielle Harding just wants to escape her abusive husband. The day she has the courage to flee, he's killed. She believes her problems are over and she can begin to build a life for herself and her twelve-year-old deaf son. But she's wrong. In some ways her problems are multiplying. The book became a page-turner of a race to figure out who was after her. Trouble comes from many directions. And she has something that somebody dangerous wants. The problem is she has no idea what that is. The body count builds as the tension ratchets up chapter by chapter. There's also a realistic romance that builds over the weeks of the chase.

There is also a spiritual thread of letting go of the past. Of being willing to trust God with the future and move into what He has for us without the heavy chains of the past tugging us backward.

Lynette Eason is an author who I think gets better with every book. Each new one I seem to race through faster than the prior books. At this rate, the next one will disappear in the blink of an eye!

I have read several books by Lynette Eason and have enjoyed eve

I have read several books by Lynette Eason and have enjoyed every one of them.  Eason is an expert at making you love the characters, and at keeping you on the edge of your seat.  I found myself trying to figure out who the bad guys are and what their motives could be.  It was really hard to put down!  I have not read the first book in this series No One To Trust, but know that I would love it, and I will be trying to get my hands on one soon.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves any type of suspense.  Especially if you are like me, and your favorite is Christian Suspense.

Danielle Harding has been in an abusive relationship for 12 years.  And although she has tried to escape before, her husband Kurt always seems to find out.  Kurt has done horrible things to Danielle and their son Simon, but always gets away with it.  Kurt is an agent in the FBI, so he seems to be above the law.  Danielle knows that if she contacts the police that Kurt’s FBI buddies will show up and take over, so her best choice is to run away without anyone knowing.  The perfect opportunity arises when Kurt has to go out of town for a couple days for work.  The moment he leaves the house Dani puts her plan into action.  Little did she know, the same day she leaves is the same day Kurt is killed.  Believing she is now safe, life becomes more comfortable.  But six months later things begin to change, and out of the blue Dani’s life is threatened.  Dani has no choice but to ask for help from Operation Refuge.

Adam Buchanan is going through some things with his family and just wants his job to keep him busy.  Adam used to be a Marshall, but some things went down and now he feels that working at Operation Refuge is his calling.  When Dani walks in he is immediately drawn to her, and could tell she has been through a lot.  So much so that Adam gets angry hearing about all she has endured.  No matter how hard he tires to keep her and Simon safe someone always ends up finding them.  Can Adam keep them safe and guard his heart at the same time?  How many people are after them?  Will the running ever end?

Nowhere to Turn by Lynette Eason ¿ A Book Review      My husband

Nowhere to Turn by Lynette Eason – A Book Review
My husband is used to my telling him about the characters and events in the books I’m reading just like I relay information about our
friends and relatives.  However, while I was reading Nowhere to Turn he got used to my starting to tell him something only to end with,
“No, I can’t tell you that.  You are going to want to read this one yourself!”  I have seen several requests among the avid reader group I
belong to on Facebook asking for suggestions for Christian fiction that men would enjoy.  Lynette Eason has definitely written a mystery
tale that is not gender specific.
Nowhere to Turn is the second book in the Hidden Identity series.  I reviewed the first, No One to Trust, on my blog on January 5,
2014.  While Summer and David were indeed in this second book, they played minor roles.  Adam Buchanan, a member of Operation
Refuge, founded by Summer and David and supported by the governor, steps to the forefront in this story.  While dealing with his own
family issues spurred on by the circumstances of his uncle’s death, Adam puts the crisis in Danielle Harding’s life before his own
concerns.  The crisis in Danielle’s life places everyone around her in mortal danger, especially those sworn to protect her and her son.
Danielle and Simon cling to one another in a life that has been dictated by betrayal.  Everywhere they turn someone they should have
been able to rely on turns on them.  Out of desperation they turn to Operation Refuge, forcing their heightened sense of distrust aside
because they had nowhere else to turn.  In spite of Adam Buchanan’s promise of protection, danger seems to follow them everywhere
they go.  Someone is able to track their every move, but how?  Until that mystery can be solved Danielle and Simon will never be safe
from their hidden enemy or enemies.  Threats seem to be coming from multiple directions, but could they all be tied together
    somehow?
Nowhere to Turn has something for most every reader: mystery, intrigue, romance, family values. I thank Revell Publishers and
Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for providing Nowhere to Turn for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a
favorable review and the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.  I would give this book five out of five stars for being able to keep
readers awake and turning pages throughout the night.  I am anxiously awaiting book three, No Place to Hide.

Nowhere to Turn Lynette Eason Book Summary: She thou

    Nowhere to Turn

    Lynette Eason

Book Summary: She thought her days of hiding were over . . . but the danger has just begun. The day Danielle Harding takes her eleven-year-old son and flees from her abusive husband is the same day Kurt Harding dies. A relieved Dani believes she and her son are finally safe--but in reality, things are just heating up. When Kurt was alive, he took something important from a mysterious individual--who wants the item back and believes Dani now has it. As she and her son run for their lives, they have nowhere to turn, until she hires Adam Buchanan of Operation Refuge and goes into hiding. Unfortunately, she won't be able to hide for long . . . From the first breathless scene, this tension-laced story will hold you in its iron grip as bestselling author Lynette Eason propels you along in a race to discover the truth.

Review: This is the first book that I have read by Lynette Eason from Revell. I was hooked from the start. There was a lot of intensity throughout the story. I did think the ones protecting Dani were not as attentive to the details as they should of been, they could not figure out how they were being tracked. That seemed a little sloppy for a group with their background. When Simon was not happy or following through with the hiding and on the run part was realistic. About 2/3rd of the way into the book I thought the suspense stalled and some of the mystery was taken away with key information provided was not preferred by me. I loved the suspense, plot and characters. Kurt was a real piece of work in the beginning and Stuart was really no different. Well written and believable over all. Loved the secondary characters of Tori and Kade. Overall the story line was enjoyable. There were several surprises with the final fireworks!

I would like to thank Net Galley and Revell for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

Ms. Eason doesn¿t disappoint! 4.5 stars Nowhere to Turn is the s

Ms. Eason doesn’t disappoint! 4.5 stars
Nowhere to Turn is the second installment in Lynette Eason’s new Hidden Identity series. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, No One to Trust, so I had high expectations for this one. I’m happy to say that it met all of them!
Ms. Eason’s writing, as usual, was wonderful! I loved the details and descriptions she included, filling in the blanks a bit, without overwhelming the reader with information. The suspense was great as well, keeping me on the edge of my seat! I had a horrible time finding a stopping point to put the book down, because every time I would start to, something else would happen!
I quickly came to love the heroine, Danielle Harding. She is a very realistic and relatable character. She is a battered wife who is finally freed from her abusive husband, though not in the way she expected. I loved how strong and determined she was, doing her best to stand on her own, but also using wisdom and asking for help when needed. She is also kind and caring, often running straight toward danger in order to protect someone else. Her biggest fears are not being able to protect her son and relying on anyone too much. I enjoyed seeing her grow through out the story and learn to push aside her very real fears in favor of faith.
Adam Buchanan is the hero in this book. We first met him in No One to Trust and I really enjoyed getting to know him better. He has grown and changed a bit since the end of that book. He is more cautious, more determined, more wary when it comes to trusting someone (something he and Dani have in common). He is also kind, strong, and understanding, exactly what Dani and her son, Simon, need. I have mixed feelings about the romance, which kind of took a backseat with all the other things going on. On one hand, I would have liked it to have been more integrated in the story, on the other, this is probably one of the most realistic romance novels I’ve read recently. I’ve always found the falling in love in a few short days very improbable, plus Danielle is still recovering from a horrible relationship, so this is most likely a very accurate portrayal of what might actually happen.
This is a Christian novel, though the faith in it is very low key. The characters pray a few times, talk or think about God a couple times, but overall, the story focuses on the mystery and everything going on there. I was a little disappointed by this at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that had there been more included, it probably would have ended up awkward or become annoying. So I have to applaud Ms. Eason for her expert handling of it, not overwhelming the story, but carefully weaving just the right amount into it.
I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense, which kept me hooked. A couple of the villains are known, but there are also a couple that are unknown. The story comes from their point of view a couple times, which kept me guessing, trying to figure out who it was. The ending was so surprising for me! I did not even see it coming (which I loved).
My only complaint is that the ending seemed a little abrupt, as though the author only had a few pages left in which to tie things up. I would have liked it to be a bit longer, but it still ended well, leaving me curious as to who’s book would be next.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy suspense with compelling characters!
I received an Advanced Reading Copy of this book from the publisher, through The Christian Manifesto, for my honest review which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
