    Some Good, Some Bad.

I was looking forward to Tiger's story since they found and freed him. Although overall, I liked the book, there were some parts that I didn't understand the author's reasoning. If he was intended to be the ultimate search and rescue creation, why did they put the poor guy through such hell in the labs? That just didn't make sense to me. I understand they wanted to make him tough to go through any and all obstacles to search out and rescue people. But everything they put him through also made him unstable.

They also never explained exactly how he was created. Why could he heal so quickly? Why was he so intuitive? What exactly happened to the cub that was born in the lab? I can't help but think that his cub is still alive somewhere and will make an appearance in a future book.

One other thing I didn't understand; if Tiger was created in a lab and had no Fae magic in him, why does he want Fionn to tie Carly's life span to his? Shifters can have long lives, but they were made with Fae magic. Tiger could have a normal human life span. For that matter, why did Fionn's touch bother Tiger so much? I just thought the whole Tiger origin story was obscure and had a lot of holes in it. That part was disappointing. Almost anticlimactic.

I did like the overall story of Tiger and Carly. Really liked Carly, I thought she was a great character. I liked the relationship she has with Yvette and Armand. Their love story was very touching. The ending of the book wasn't really an ending to me. It left more questions than answers. I'm hoping some of them will be answered when Walker and Rebecca's story is told. I am looking forward to Graham McNeil's story. Just wish we didn't have to wait till next year for it.

    Exciting

In one word, this book was exciting. I loved the fact that Tiger is different and that Carley is a free spirit. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next in the series.

I really loved this book and have read itseveral times. I wish the author would write a prequil of how tiger was found and rescued. The seeds of the story are in this book but not developed. I also would submit a premise, since tiger's never saw the body of his child, what if the child survived and came searching for and found tiger what would happen?r

heartbreaking and romantic:  REVIEW: TIGER MAGIC is the fifth st

heartbreaking and romantic:  REVIEW: TIGER MAGIC is the fifth storyline in Jennifer Ashley's Shifters Unbound series focusing on the animal shifters and the people they love in the Shiftertown of Austin. The premise of Shiftertown is similar to the Japanese Internment Camps of the 40s and the Native American Indian reservations of North America-animal shifters are relegated to second class citizens; tagged and collared and must remain within the confines of a pre-arranged area. Tiger Magic follows an unknown shifter known as Tiger as he traverses a new world-one in which he was never raised and a world that wants to use and destroy the beast within the man.
Tiger is an anomaly to the world of shifters-his heritage is unknown to all but the scientists and the government who have tortured, persecuted and experimented all in the name of security, warfare and a better army. Tiger is a hunted animal, a wounded soul who wants to be left alone to live his life. But the day he stopped to help a human female with car trouble, is the day that will change his life-for better or for worse. Tiger will discover the woman is his mate but his identity and the truth about his DNA will place everyone he cares about in danger-including the woman who calls to his soul. Tiger is more beast than man and believes a little bit of magic can be found in every shifter-including himself.
Jennifer takes the reader on a journey of discovery. We watch as some of those wanting to take Tiger down will be forced to see that not every shifter is an animal, but a human with a beating heart; a mind; with the ability to love and hurt, feel sorrow and pain, and experience the loss of a loved one. But not everyone is willing to accept the human side of the beast. There are those still willing to cull the pack, round up the rogues, and control the shifters with every available method.
Tiger and Carly's attraction is immediate. Reeling from betrayal, Carly will discover that Tiger is unlike any man she has ever encountered especially when he can shift into a larger than life tiger that is willing to defend and protect her at all costs-and it will cost Tiger plenty. Tiger has been created for one purpose and that purpose will show itself time and again. But those who know Tiger are still fearful of the beast, and it will take a small human female to show the shifters of Austin that the beast has been tamed by the `mate of his heart'.
TIGER MAGIC is a fascinating look at shifters and their lives. Jennifer keeps the series cohesive and up to date by including many of the previous storyline characters allowing for a smooth jump from one book to the next. The reader never has to wonder what happened to..? The colorful and imaginary characters of Shiftertown are as real and human as any man or woman; they love and hate; cry and laugh; feel pain and pleasure; and most of all will pull you into the story with their heartbreaking tales of discrimination because they are different - different makes things interesting and Jennifer weaves an interesting and wonderful series for everyone to enjoy.

    Loved this Book

I really enjoy all of her work. The book was a little different but I was so looking forward to reading that I had it on my list for a year. What I really appreciated is the heroine wasn't a little whinny baby but acted more like an adult. It is worth the read. I am now waiting for the next wolf story.

Tiger doesn’t have a name.  He was rescued from a lab as a full grown shifter and is now living in the Austin shiftertown and trying to learn who he is and how to be free.  Or as free as any shifter is.  When he comes across human Carly Randal whose car had broken down by the side of the road he knows he has found his mate.  Now all he has to do is convince her.
Another incredible addition to Jennifer Ashley’s shifters series.  Though part of a series this can be read stand-alone.  Jennifer Ashley has created an imaginative world where things are just as beautiful and ugly as ours it is always a pleasure to spend some time there.

Created in a lab by humans and held in captivity for 40 years he follows a completely different set of rules than other shifters. He has a special bond with the cubs in his shiftertown but is still distrusted by the adult weres who come in contact with him.

Meeting Carly Randal was a fluke. Realizing instantly that she was his mate was a gift and miracle from the goddess. Convincing everyone else including Carly that she was his, and his alone proved to be more difficult. When the government becomes aware of his existence he puts everyone around him in danger. Do you run or do you fight?

I fell in love with Tiger when I first read about him in a previous book in the shifters unbound series (Hard Mated). It was sad to see such a strong alpha male who had so much caring to give suffer thru such loss and hurt. The fact that Tiger always protected those weaker than him has made him one of my favorite shifters. I liked how Carly saw him for who he truly was from the beginning. She accepted him when others would not.

This book had me from the beginning. I couldn't put it down.

Great heart-felt story. It wasn't as predictable as some of the other books in this series is, not that I didn't enjoy them as well.

    Great book...but....

I have been reading this series and I love the books. The first book I read was about Liam. In that book, Conner was his son. In this book, Conner is his nephew? It's very frustrating!!!

I was very much looking forward to Tiger's story from reading the other books in this series and it was very good!  He was a great hero-
-a gentle giant, steadfast, and sweet. He is a warrior of course but we see the man who longs for connections. Those heros are always
my favorites because they embrace the love and work to make a new life.

The heroine is smart and funny and open minded. She has a past with abandonment she deals with and has only realistic angst
     around it.

As always in this series, the supporting cast is excellent as is the world building.

The writing was really solid. And a good plot and action as well as tasteful sex and romance. This book took the series to a new space and I enjoyed the changes. Tiger is by far my favorite :)
