    Worthy Paris Guide

The Rick Steves' Paris Guide has several strong points.
    1) The book is updated annually.
    2) The descriptions of sights, hotels, restaurants, and shops are detailed enough to give the reader a real feel for place described.
    3) There are good, practical descriptions of how to use public transportation: metro, RER, and bus. Paris has perhaps the world's finest public transportation system, and tourists can save time, money, and shoe leather by learning how to use it.
    4) The guide includes good information on day-trips from Paris, including how to reach the destinations by public transportation.

What are the weaknesses? Essentially the book focuses on the sights and neighborhoods of Paris most interesting to Rick Steves, and does not try to be a comprehensive guide to the city. For example, in my visits to Paris I prefer to stay in the Place Châtelet area. Even though this area is well located to see the tourist sights of Paris, it's not described in the guide. Also, some interesting sights such as the Paris Mint are omitted.

There are guidebooks that are more comprehensive on neighborhoods and sights. However, for the tourist making a first or an infrequent visit to Paris, this book is the best single guide.

    Maps on ebook small

They didnt convert any of the maps right on the ebook version. To zoom in, i need to doubletap the map, and b/c it is a small map file, when zooming in, the rest of the map becomes blurry.

A must read if you are going to Paris

Rick Steve's Paris 2014 is packed with useful information. It not only provides tips on how to navigate Partis but provides information on French custons such as tipping at restaurants and also useful phrases. It also gives a historical perspective on what you will be seeing. I enjoyed it so much I read it cover to cover.
