Overview

Selling for a lower price than any similar guidebook, and deliberately limited to a short 256 pages, this EasyGuide is an exercise in creating easily-absorbed travel information. It emphasizes the authentic experiences in each destination:the most important attractions, the classic method of approaching a particular destination; the best choices for accommodations and meals; the best ways to maximize the enjoyment of your stay. Because it is "quick to read, light to carry", it is called an "EasyGuide", and ...

Meet the Author

Eric Peterson has been writing about travel for more than 20 years. Beyond covering the Rockies in numerous Frommer's guidebooks, he has also written about skiing, hiking, and other ways to get up and down mountains for such publications as the New York Daily News, Delta Sky, and his own Ramble series of travel books. When he's not on the road, he covers the arts, technology, and city-building for Confluence Denver, a "hyper-local" website. Eric lives in Denver with his wife, Jamie, and their trusted canines, Mimi and Duncan.

    Usual Frommers quality

I love to read travel guides, whether planning a trip this year or daydreaming about somewhere I *might* go someday. Frommers guides have always been among my favorites and I was so disappointed earlier this year when they went off the market for a while. So, I was delighted to find they are now publishing again. The "Easy Guide" is very similar to the previous types of Frommers' travel guides. You get suggested itineraries, some background information, and then for each destination you get some suggested lodgings, restaurants, attractions, shopping, and nightlife. Honestly, like most people, I tend to use these recommendations as a good starting point and then do further exploration on TripAdvisor or other online sites. I find that their recommendations for recommended sights or attractions are usually quite good. We visited several of the Colorado Springs attractions on our recent trip and didn't feel that we were steered wrong at all. If you are a Frommers fan, you will find this book up to their usual standards.
