This book isn't really a tourist book, since it doesn't advertise the locations of restaurants, lodging, or campgrounds. It does allow you to find the region you are in, and discover the roads that are smaller than the "blue roads" the Department of Tourism will recommend for the heartier explorers. Those blue roads are, of course, the state and federal highways that are generally 55 MPH roads of 2 lanes. The roads you find in this book are usually blacktop, sometimes gravel, even occasionally dirt, maintained by counties and municipalities. If you happen to be looking for a business with a slogan like "Git-er-done for God" this is the book for you. A friend of mine found this sign in the central part of the state and sent me a picture. Personally, I've seen a sign in rural Saline county for "Git er done plumbing".
I got this book for use in Storm Spotting, and it is definitely recommended for this as a part of your "go-kit" if that's what you are looking for.
