Excellent guidebook for trip planning. It has a smart layout, good maps, and even some interesting historical background and side stories about the area. The "best experiences" section right in the front is a perfect place to start your plan. It gives you the author and photographer's choices for best waterfall, best scenic drive, best place to watch wildlife, etc. so you can at least get a starting point if you're overwhelmed or short on time. Good information about day hikes, backpacking, how to make best use of your time in such a gigantic park, where to eat, where to stay, etc. And the photos! Good grief, they are gorgeous! Money well spent.
