And that, of course, is the ultimate compliment. Any state can be called free (though maybe not old line), but to be weird is to be truly special.

And there's no one better to record the strangeness of Maryland, with its cursed roads, oddball museums, curious people, and darn peculiar sites than best-selling author Matt Lake. Matt, being a transplanted Englishman, is himself a bit of a curiosity, so he fit right in.     Lots of fun!

    Having lived in MD all my life, I'm familar with many of the stories and places mentioned in this book, but it was great to revisit them. Some of the books I've read on MD ghosts & legends were written in the 1970's, so it was great to see some updated photos of how these spooky spots look now. I'd definitely recommend it for MD history buffs or anyone who loves urban legends and weird tales.

    I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This book is one of the best books I have ever read accourding to ghosts. I live in Ellicott City, and it absolutley amazied me on the story on College Avenue. It's because I live right up the hill from that street. Also, I was hooked on the story of Black Aggie and the Hell House. I live about a minute from the Hell House also. I recomend this awesome book to anyone who lives in Maryland and people who believes in ghosts and the supernatural.

    I have been a life long resident of Frederick,MD and found this book fascinating. I have since bought 'Weird Pennsylvania,' 'Weird US,' and 'Weird Hauntings.' All have been just as fascinating. It is also nice to see stories from my home town in such cool books.
