Your go-to guide to Vermont
When I visited Maine some years ago I took with me a cop of the Explorer's Guide to Maine, one of Christina Tree's other books, and found it immensely helpful. I'm pleased to say that the Explorer's Guide to Vermont was equally as helpful, if not even more insightful.
Each entry in the book is long enough to be interesting but also short enough that it doesn't bore you and is readable in one sitting. Throughout the book you'll learn about some amazing places, many of which you won't come across in other Vermont travel guides and many of which are hidden away off the beaten track. "The whole state is a living history museum" the books reads, something which Tree proves to be true. I loved the fact that she covered everything from the well-known tourist spots to the tiniest of ice-cream stands and that she was downright honest when it came to what is and isn't worth seeing and why. Plus, Tree has included sections on where to stay and where to eat, things many other similar books often lack.
Overall, the book is a complete firsthand account what there is to see, do, and experience in Vermont - something no amount of internet trawling can match. Its great for residents and tourists alike!
