"Amberpaw!" Dewpaw screeched, watching then den collapse on top of her sister, "someone help her!" She wailed, and began to race towards the flickering flames. "Dewpaw, stop." A brisk voice commanded her. Dewpaw whirled around to see Bramblestar glaring at her. "We can not risk you life," he said, "I shall go, I have lives to spare, you do not." With that he brushed past her and sprinted into the ash filled clearing. Dewpaw began to follow, but was held back by a fluffy white warrior, Cloudtail. "It's ok sweetheart," her father comforted, "Amberpaw will be fine." Dewpaw sighed and sank to the ground, hoping that his hollow words were true. She was losing faith when a call rang out across the smoky clearing, "I found her!" Dewpaw shot to her feet and raced towards the voice, ignoring calls for her to stop. She skidded to a sto next to Bramblestar. Amberpaw lay next to leader, her fur was blackened and some patches were singed off. Burns criss-crossed her body, but, Dewpaw observed, her sister's chest was rising feebly. 'She's alive!" The medecine cat apprentice called out estacily, "we need herbs, quick." Franticly she glanced around for anything. There were no herbs to be found. Everything was a blackened crisp. "No," she murmered, "please no." Slowly she raised her head to face the rest of the clan who had gathered near. She blinked in surprise as she saw a shimmering cat weave through the gathered clan. The cat turned to Dewpaw and blinked its large eyes, "she will be safe for now," the cat murmered, "but hurry, for her life is unraveling and soon she will be gone." Then the cat disappeared, leaving Dewpaw looking around for something no one could see. She stood in shock until a husky voice broke her concentration. "Dovewing fetch water," Jayfeather mewed, "Foxleap and Dustpelt, fetch sticks to rebuild our den. Toadstep, take Seedpaw and try to find honey," he glanced at Dewpaw and she dipped her head thankfully. Stonily he looked at her and continued his orders, "Squirrelflight, Sandstorm, Lillypaw, go get some moss. Graystripe and Berrynose, clear the sticks away," Jayfeather paused for a moment and looked at Bramblestar, who nodded, urging him to continue. Jayfeather blinked, "Sorreltail, help the elders. Cherrylight (Cherrypaw in the books) and Molefeather (Molepaw in the books) see if you can find thyme. Brightheart, go find tansy, marigold, and dock. Dewpaw, help me with you sister." Dewpaw staggered over to him, shocked at his quick control over the situation. 'I hope Amberpaw will be ok,' she thought, and quickly she got to work. --- READ RATE AND REVIEW great Starclan it's been a long time since I've written a chapter. I love your way off writing it is lovly and makes me want to read more i would buy your book if you puplished it i love the caracter devolement i find that is what pulls the story together and your plots is great i rate you five stars great effort and i look foward to reading more-- the ediotor &star &star &star &star &star
