I had read an article in National Geographic about the Endurance, then bought this book. At first I was disappointed, but after about 50 pages I could not put it down and spent several evenings finishing it, I was quite unhappy when I reached the end, I did not want the story to be finished. It is told rather dryly, with understatement but with truth and wit.He is certainly one of the most remarkable men of this century.

The most profound example of survival ever lived and ever recorded. This is how honorable men organize and endure.If they can do this in the worst of situations;you and yours can survive any crisis.

A wonderful, adventuresome book. Shackleton writes in a dry, 'ship's log' style, but sprinkes his memoir with his unique humor every now and then. An exciting book, and the essencial book on leadership and courage. A must read.

I read Shackleton's "South: The Endurance Expedition and was absolutely astounded by the drama, the passion, and the amazing power that the story revealed. A true adventure, to say the least. I give South cheers for excellent organization and great attention to detail.

What a book! I could hardly put it down! The ultimate armchair, cozy sheets, small plane seat, waiting at the doctor's office adventure. In a word...WOW!

This book always makes me feel proud to be a man, although I wouldn't have been able to do what Shackleton and Wild did. I highly recommend this amazing true story of just how incredibly resilient we are.

Think you've got it tough? Think again. This expedition to the South Pole faced more challenges than most men could handle. I nothing in fiction compares to this adventure. Buy it. Read it. Be glad it wasn't you.
