Guillermo del Toro credits the well-known thoroughness of his film preparation to his ten-year work as a make-up artist. Whatever its cause, del Toro's ever-restless creativity often found an early home in his constant companion notebooks. This coffee table hardcover includes not only notebook entries about his film and other projects; but also reproductions of journal pages, including sketches, illustrations, and new annotations. In addition, Guillermo del Toro Cabinet of Curiosities contains an extended, strikingly various interview with him by fellow filmmaker Marc Scott. Insights into the mind of a Mexican genius film director and novelist.

New York Times
