Two features of this book endure after reading it: Fletcher himself - transformed from an overweight body and flabby mind into a bronzed, lean observer and the enormity of solo walking the Grand canyon, By doing so he gains empathy for those who who have come before him. We are fortunate because we can follow him on his journey and learn as we do.
