That’s where O’Brien (Talkin' Sports: A B.S.-er's Guide, 2008, etc.) found himself in 2005 when a series of sexually graphic, drug-and-alcohol–fueled voice-mail messages appeared in the tabloid press. Recorded during an epic drunken blackout, the messages were just one red flag for a man racing toward destruction. “Mine is a story of daydreams and fulfilled and unfulfilled ambitions,” he writes in the introduction, “of the craving for love from strangers and for belonging at the table, of failure and of redemption.” From there, the author tells a rich and well-written—if not overly complex—history of his rise from modest roots in South Dakota to becoming one of the most well-known media commentators in the country. Pat O’Brien is best known for his work as a sportscaster with CBS and NBC as well as his work as the anchor and  host of Access Hollywood and The Insider.  O’Brien covered six Olympic Games, hosted the World Series, four Super Bowls, 25 US Open Tennis Championships, and a decade of the NBA Finals and the Final Four.  A former columnist for the New York Daily News and a frequent contributor on CNN, MSNBC, The Today Show, Hannity and Don Imus, O’Brien lives in Los Angeles, New York and Nantucket.

    Fate, Maus, and Seeker

    Fate (&male<_>)<br> Fate is a light brown tom with chestnut brown striping through, giving him a tiger look, just different colors. His eyes are a pure, bright amber, almost gold. Fate's genetics are exactly like his uncle's, a cat Snake has never mentioned to anyone about. Tail length is a good size, a little over a foot long.<p> Maus(&male<_>)<br> Maus is a firy orange tom with a plain color for his pelt. The only marking on him is a puffy white chest. His eyes are a light green, like his uncle Lyric's are. His tail is a little stubby, which might earn him the nickname 'Stubbytail' later in life. His tail is, in total, about two inches long.<p> Seeker(&male<_>)<br> Seeker is a dark black tom, able to perfectly blend into the night. He has no markings what-so-ever, and his nose is a bright prinkish color. His eyes are a light brown. His whiskers are 3/4 longer than the average cat, and his legs are strong, pretty much he will have no problem with being a klutz. His tail length is the same as his father's, 1 1/2 feet long.
