Course Objective

Develop skills for data analysis of designed experiments and observational studies. Emphasis will be on mixed-effects models. The approach combines a grounding in theory with application to many practical settings.

Assignments

This course has a large homework load, with heavy use of computers. Students are expected to remain current on reading.

Grading

25% on homework, 25% on each of two midterm exams and 25% on a final project.

Prerequisites

Stat 849 or consent of instructor. Students are expected to be familiar with standard distributions (normal, t, chi-square, F) and to have a working knowledge of R.
