!Geospatial Computing Lab This is the main computer lab for Cartography, GIS, Remote Sensing Data Processing and Statistical Modeling Lab Sections. Curiously enough this lab is called the geospatial computing lab, although that is it's technical name, everyone expects it to have the exact same [software|?=Software_Storage] and [configuration|?=Desktop Administration] as every other lab in the Science Hall. ---- !Time During the day the lab is almost always has a class, the best time to change configurations is Friday afternoon or Weekday mornings. However, the best time to update the lab is on the weekend. (You get paid and the building is nearly empty!) ---- !Access This lab is for instruction only (as of Fall 2006) there is to be no lolly-gagging before or after labs. TA's are not supposed to hold office hours in the labs, and no one besides GIS class instructors and their TA's are given keys to this lab. ---- !Updates If you're going to set [deepfreeze|?page=security] to turn off to facilitate updating the computers through a batch file. Make sure that they are not going to shut off when people are in the lab.
