!!Known Hardware Issues

!Memory problems in Gray Antech Computers (AthlonXP 1700's).
*Symptom: Beeping during post and no screen
*Cure (80%): Either switch out memory with other chip or put existing memory in a different bay.
*Cure (10%): Wiggle the processor heatsink so it is covering all of the processor.
*Cure (10%): Accept defeat and use hardware for spare parts.

!Gray Antech computers won't start
*Symptom: Case fan is dangling off the motherboard and everything smells like smoke
*Diagnosis: This computer has died, check the motherboard for burn marks behind the processor.

!Black Antech computer won't start
*Symptom: Beeping at post and no screen
*Cure: Press the reset button.
*Speculation: Prehaps this has something to do with the keyboard port. However, no known explanation suffices 100%.

!Blank Antech computer starts, but monitor has lines through the screen
*Symptom: Typically with LCD's, screen has lines through it (unmistakable problem)
*Cure: Turn off computer completely and restart (reboot does not fix this)

!Weird picture fragments on screen.
*Symptom: As computer is left on for longer periods, monitor starts getting fuzzy and looks bad.
*Cure (50%): Install the correct video drivers
*Cure (50%): The video card is failing, swap out.

!Blank Antech computers can't find hard drive
*Symptom: Hard drives are properly plugged into onboard SATA controller, but during post you get a message saying "Bios does not init". 
*Cure (20%): Try plugging hard drive into the other port on motherboard.
*Cure (20%): Try using a different cord.
*Cure (40%): Test a different Hard Drive on both ports.
*If all else fails plug in a spare SATA controller.  Note: you may need to reinstall operating system, which is much more work than it is worth.
