!Sephiroth
Sephiroth was the traditional name of the Image Server, it has since taken on the nomenclature of subsequent Final Fantasy Villains. 
!Hardware
The image server is a Gray Antech with 3 Nics and 4 Striped Raid-0 hard drives. Technically, this should be optimum for running an file server, but don't expect miracles from this hunk of junk. 
!Software
Unlike every other server in the building, it is running a copy of Windows 2003 Server.  We have found that running FTP servers from Windows XP is exceptionally slow, not to mention it only accepts a limited number of connections.

The raided hard drive is mounted in c:/ftproot it is also shared (Windows Style) from that point.

The FTP server currently running is the standard MS FTP server.  It actually runs pretty good, but it attracts port scanners like the dickens, so keep the firewall tuned to not allow anything outside the [Science hall subnet|?page=science hall].

*Filezilla.
