A bummer indeed
26 September 2007 | by (Worcester, MA) – See all my reviews

This has to be the single least enjoyable David Friedman production I've had the displeasure of viewing yet. This is rather odd, because the film its paired with on the DVD "Johnny Firecloud" is easily the best (in terms of quality) thing the man ever had his name attached to. "Bummer", on the other hand, is quite simply a film that lives up (or down) to its title. Its an incredibly dull and pointless tale of groupies that even the most dedicated exploitation fan will find unbearable. The film starts nowhere, ends at even a lesser point, and even the refreshing ending where all these characters whom I'd grown to absolutely hate get completely screwed over came a bit too late.

I can't exactly pinpoint the main reason for the shoddy quality of this production - everyone is an equal opportunity offender. Connie Strickland looked absolutely gorgeous here, thats about the only worthwhile aspect. In particular, the music by the imaginatively named The Group was completely abyssal. "Bummer" is complete crap. The DVD is worth getting for the surprisingly impressive "Johnny Firecloud". You can skip this one entirely however. (1/10)
