In a desolate section of the Sahara once ruled by the French, two thirsty men stumble into the camp of a Tuareg warrior where they're given water and shelter. Soldiers from the new Arab government now arrive by Jeep and demand the two men be turned over to them. The warrior refuses, citing the sacred laws of hospitality. The soldiers shoot dead one of the men and carry off the other -- a political foe of the new government. The warrior mounts his camel and rides off to rescue his kidnapped guest. Written by dinky-4 of Minneapolis
This co-production Italian/Spanish tells how a Tuareg (Mark Harmon) receives a fugitive (Luis Prendes) . Soldiers (Aldo Sambrell , Alfonso Sabato) take him , breaking the hospitality's Tuareg law and then Harmon set out in pursuit for the executing of a relentless revenge .
From the beginning to the end the action-packed is unstopped , besides with spectacular shootouts where explode and die a lot of people , being a little bit violent . In the film there are thriller , suspense , emotion , frenetic action and fast-moving and for that reason is amusing . The picture has breathtaking outdoors with splendid cinematography well photographed by John Cabrera , like is splendidly reflected on the spellbound Sahara desert landscapes . Mark Harmon as a tough and cold Arab doing one army man is fine though he appears all film with a scarf on his face . A varied support cast is majority formed by secondaries from Spaghetti Western , as Aldo Sambrell (Leone's Western) , Ennio Girolami (director's brother) , Claudia Gravy and Ken Wood . The picture is based on a novel with same title by successful Spanish author Alberto Vazquez Figueroa who gets numerous cinematographic adaptations (Ebony , Manaos , The Iguana , Ocean , Rottweiler) . Special mention to musical score by Riz Ortalani , it is exciting and atmospheric . The motion picture is well directed by Enzo G. Castellari that had many hit-smashes in the action cinema and Spaghetti (Keoma), in fact the film is an Italian Western developed on the desert . The pic will appeal to Eurotrash fans and Italians-Spaniards productions enthusiasts. Rating : Mediocre but amusing .
