In my opinion, the news service is useful and should be continued.
Once that is said, I would like to add some thing

I myself receive the mail from VNSA by the digest option. I found
that the news posted is usually late comparing with the original
source. That is why I often read it from the internet. Therefore
I always have to scroll down the article when it come to my mailbox.
But I think that many people for one reason or other just read the
news in this forum, that's why I am saying that is useful although 
not for me. 

I am not a computer guru but I would like to suggest the admin. to
think about the possibility of installing some kind of filter. In this
way you can put some "tag" on certain thread or message and the people
have the option to get it or not by e-mailing message with appropriate
command. As I said, I am not the computer expert so I don't even know 
if it is possible. But think about the usefulness of this function you 
will see that it is great. Just image that our group of people is 
increasing and the topics of discussion, interest will be quite diverse. 
Like most of you I have limited time everyday for this stuff. So if there
is the option, I will surely turn off certain threads.

For the admin. people, this feature also give you some kind of consensus.
Just looking through the list you can know how is the public response on
certain topic.

Anyway, I would like to hear from computer guru on the technical aspect
of this idea.
