Re: PBS film on VN War
It's actually <<Viet Nam, a Television History>>. This goes along with
Stanley Karnow's book: Vietnam, a History--the First Complete Account of
the Vietnam War>> . The series was shown in VN during the 80's, the edited,
cut version, of course.
People say it's is bisased to the left. Karnow is leftist. After airing the
film on PBS in the United States, PBS had to air another <<apology>>panel
discussion session. I did not follow this becuse I was: 1. a teen ager 2.
living in VN at that time.
the Center for Accuracy in Media later did a single volume video refuting
some of the reportings on VN, A TV History. I don't remember the title.
The VN tV History series is a very coprehensive war-history documentary. I
recommend watching it, but be removed from the American-Western view. There
are inclusions and exclusions to also watch for.
A more war and less history film, also good to see is: <<VN, the
Ten-Thousand Days War>>.
Enjoy,
