Jap. prof behaviour
Hello anh Ca,
Hope you do not take it personally about my comment on Japanese
friends' behaviour. I emphasize again that I observed this behaviour in
Japanese friends only, not exclusively Viet friends :). I had a personal
experience about a Japanese prof (not friend) travelling with me from Denver
to Minneapolis a few years ago; he was quite rude to me on the plane
(perhaps thinking that I was a Japanese!). Anyway, it turned out that in the
conference's section, I served as a co-chair with him; his behaviour to me
was impeccably respectful then!!! I do not like this sort of attitude.
About your San Francisco hotel question: I was there last September.
I stayed in the Hotel Richelieu (or something like that) and the price taq
was 80$/night. Service was reasonable. You may care to check it out. If you
want more info, I will get it for you. SF is an expensive, but lively and
vivacious, city. Some say that if you can make it in SF, you can make it
anywhere in the US!
