Hi, 
  I heard that the first paper of Drinfeld on the Quantum Groups was rejected
by a Conference ( Usually it is much easier to be accepted by a 
Conference than a Journal). The guy, who did, was an acknowledgable 
scientist. So I'm always careful hearing scientists talking bad opinions 
about each other. The top science is more sophisticated than something 
that can be judged in few days of reading.

  The Nobel Prize winning article by M.GellMann was rejected by the No1 
journal in Physics the Physical Review.
