Writer-director Alice Winocour's ambitious drama-thriller "Disorder" promises far more than it delivers. The nerve-wrecking party scene in the beginning of the film is excellently crafted, but the rest of the story never reaches the same level of suspense. I don't know whether the problem's with the writing or the directing, but the film doesn't really deliver on neither drama nor thrills.
Matthias Schoenaerts stars as Vincent, a PTSD-stricken soldier who takes on a job as a security guard. Winocour wrote the role specifically with Schoenaerts in mind, and he is the perfect fit for the role. He has both the charisma and the acting chops to carry the film over the lulls in the story and is the only reason to see this film. The rest of the cast is passable but forgettable.
