A few years later, she faked her death so he couldn't find her. But now, in 1998, Michael has returned and found all the papers he needs to find her. He tracks her down to a private school where she has gone under a new name with her son, John. In certain scenes, Michael can be seen wearing two different masks. The director decided well into production, to go with a different mask, so certain scenes were re-shot. Some scenes with the original mask can still be seen, and in one shot it had to be altered with CGI to replace Michael's old mask with the new one. See more »

I reluctantly decided to take a look at the only Halloween Sequel besides 2 that a majority of fans seem to enjoy. I however cannot suspend my disbelief at a few things.
1. Michael was shot in the eyes at the end of Halloween 2 and blinded him - If they want me to suspend that he can survive burning then... That would seem as much for a horror film but this is almost inexcusable.
2. Sam Loomis lives (It's mentioned he died "a few years ago)? I though at the end of Halloween 2 he lights a match in a room full of open gas canisters. Do they know what effects that has on a normal man? That is about it. One other complaint is that throughout - the killer doesn't feel like Michael. The first 2 movies bought something to the character, It may be completely unmatched in the other sequels but I think that Michael was supposed to be a nightmare to the screen - here it feels numb.
Overall: Decent sequel to my favourite Horror film - at least they tried (unlike remakes that shall remain nameless)
