The Russian submarine used for filming was sold to the USS Saratoga Museum Foundation in Rhode Island for uses as an exhibit. It subsequently sank while docked in Providence during a severe rainstorm and was used by the US Navy as a salvage training exercise. After it was raised, it was no longer suitable as a museum and was sold for scrap metal. See more »

When Radtchenko kisses his girlfriend goodbye he tries to catch what appears to be a Soviet GAZ-66 4x4 utility truck. The production of GAZ-66 did not start until 1966, 5 years after the events of the movie take place. See more »
I rented this DVD for a little diversion, in spite of the bad buzz and the word "flop" attached. I thought it was a very good movie, very suspenseful and interesting. I don't nitpick about things like accents with films, just try to enjoy them. I agree with the majority of posters here, it is well worth your time.

I rented this DVD for a little diversion, in spite of the bad buzz and the word "flop" attached. I thought it was a very good movie, very suspenseful and interesting.
